Diablofans is looking to recruit some new mods! Your job will be to help the current mod staff keep the forums neat and tidy according to the forum guidelines. Here are a few general things to go over.
Do not apply if you have a short temper. You will be expected to handle things calmly, not just ban and warn everyone. Sometimes it's more beneficial to talk or work things out. Use good judgement.
Do not apply if you only plan to stick around for a month or two. This is a volunteer job so I don't expect you to be online all the time but we need active mods.
You will be expected to take part in discussions and be active in the community. We do have a leave of absence thread though to let us see if you are on vacation, busy with finals, cats on fire, etc.
We do not limit you to one section. You will have the choice of moderating anywhere you see that needs it. It's fine if you choose to mainly stick to a few sections just take a peek at others when you have time.
Having warnings will not exclude you from being chosen but it does of course lessen your chances if it's a significant warning.
We use Skype to keep in contact and for you to ask questions or solve any doubts you may have.
In your application be sure to include things you feel are relevant such as your history with the game, your history with online communities, your history working as a team with others, any other applicable skills or information you can think of.
My name's Mark and I've been a mod on a Diablo 3 Twitch stream as well as a mod for one of the Mafia Wars forums on Facebook. I'm an easy-going guy who lives in Australia, so when the American mods are asleep etc., I can keep an eye on what's happening. I primarily play Diablo 3, so that would be the forum section I'd mainly like to mod for, and yes, I do have a Skype account.
Thanks and hope to hear from you.
I can be contacted by email at markall31@hotmail.com, Mark Allan @markall43 on Twitter or markall42 on Skype.
I had sent a PM to Shinna (sp?), regarding whether any assistance was needed with moderating the monk forums. Needless to say, I am still interested.
I have been playing Blizzard games since my childhood. I played d1 on the pc and actually have one of the ps1 version also, which is apparently somewhatvrare.
During my progression into d2 I made the decision to solely play hardcore, and have stuck with that decision into diablo 3. Barring the first few weeks of classic release, when inferno was equivalent to GR 600, haha.
I am a very friendly and welcoming person in communities, I was a contributor to several raiding class websites during my time as a hardcore raider in WoW.
I think d3 is lacking in community involvement, and hope to do what I can to keep the community active and alive.
While I am strictly a hardcore player, I do not limit my game knowledge to only hardcore.
I could say a ton more, but I will leave it at that. Thanks for your time!
Edit - I'd also like to add that I have substantial education, traditional and personal, in website maintenance. Also have Bachelors degree in journalism, with specialization in online media. Not sure if any of this would be useful to you, but thought I would mention it.
I have previous moderating my guilds website during the TBC/Wrath days of WoW.
I have been around these forums for several years now. Try to post in subjects/posts I have knowledge about. Also try to flag spam posts when I see them. I also have the ability to check the forums often through out the day
The Skype thing would be a little difficult ATM, as the Web cam in my laptop is fubared. But, I can pick up an external one if needed.
Thanks for your consideration!

I see the line in the sand. Time to find out who I am. Looking back to see where I stand. Evolution.
My name is Chris. I have been playing Diablo since the first Diablo. For the most part I know all the classes pretty well except for the crusader. I never cared to much for that class but maybe things will change when their new set comes out. Who knows. For the most part I'm a pretty relaxed person. I'm on Diablo fans just about everyday. Two or three times actually a day. Heck even while I'm at work I come to diablofans.com to check news and forums. Here is a link to my bnet profile.
I'm not submitting myself, but I wanted to drop in and thank everyone that applies for the position on this thread (even if you don't get it). Thank you for wanting to make this community a better place to discuss one of our favorite games.
Hi guys my name is Rob, I am at on the wrong side of 20 and I live in England. I have experience working with children and adults. I know how NOT make a bad situation worse.
I would like to be considered for moderator. You can always find me in-game and browsing through diablofans, soaking up the best of everyones posts.
I donate much of my time to helping communities in my life and would love to help diablofans.
I have no prior experience as my background is in computer music.
Hey - I would like to apply for the moderator position. A bit about me...
I'm a 33 year old attorney from the US, and play D3 daily (ysoserious#1178). I've been working hard to resurrect the dfans clan, bringing our number back over 100.
I have never taken a break from D3 since release, and am certain I have helped powerlevel / gear more players than anyone else. Anyone who has played with me in game knows I am always happy to help, or provide constructive feedback.
Thanks for your time!

Good luck!
I saw your ava here as I was scrolling through, and was going to give you my support. You would fit the bill nicely. Long time, active member that doesn't get bent or pissed.
You should apply, and if you did, I'd support you 100%.
I was an admin assistant for many years at the now defunct Dtrades.org, for those of you who may remember that site. We were a bit informal and my salty attitude worked well over there. Though I did behave a bit differently due to my position than I behave here.
My history here is a bit too dicey to put the Curse staff in such a gamble as to apply for full mod, as I would be seen as a liability, I'm sure. If they had a "spam-cop" type of position, I'd love to help. It's something we did at Dtrades to help with anti-spam.
It's a mod with the power only to delete/lock threads, and who's only charge is to prevent spam and posts that go staunchly against forum rules. Such a position doesn't have the power to warn, infract, suspend or ban other members.
It might be an idea for Curse to consider, if the software has such permissions. Good luck to all !!!
I have been part of this forum since D3 launch and still check daily. I have 15+ years of experience with forums and use them a lot for all games I like. I have been mod of the WoW part of the incgamers.com forums for 5 years before they were closed down for inactivity (WoW part, the diablo part is still going strong).
I know that I have a few warnings here but I can also post friendly and constructive I know what it takes to be a mod and what behaviour is expected. I have skype and a working headset.
Guys, sorry it took so long for us to reply, we've been kinda busy with the new PTR patch datamining and posts, and analyzing the applications. We also wanted to give people at least a month to apply and for us to actually recruit the new mods (get contacts working, etc.). We'll be recruiting the new mods in roughly 10~ days. Thanks for your patience.

I'd like to apply, no particular reason other than I am here daily, so I figured, "Why not?".
So, did the site pick up some more moderators?
There seems to be less spam lately, and I was curious if that was because of more mods being around, or new systems being implemented.

Give me the power, Zero, I swear I'll be a good treasure goblin. :-)
Edit: Actually, I apologize, I shouldn't be making jokes in an official thread. I'll go back under my rock now.
Just saying that I found 25 threads I would instantly delete right now in the general forums alone.
Not much of a power trip thing, I would just like to help keep the forum clean.
