Hey everyone,I know this doesn't belong here but I built a new pc just cuz im soo pumped for d3 and i just wanted to help the community by warning everyone how BAD Newegg's customer service is. When I recently built my own PC, and got all my stuff from Newegg. Everything was perfectly fine, until my PSU turned out to be faulty. When i tried to return the part, they denied my return on the grounds that i was missing the outer retail box. I included everything except the outer retail box (because I made the mistake of throwing it away). I know this is a simple mistake, but to deny a product return simply because the retail box was missing is absurd- what are they going to re sell a faulty part? So just an FYI, Neweggs customer service is absolutely terrible-especially their return policies (which are written in extremely small letters at the bottom of their emails). Dont buy from Newegg, other stores have very competitive prices and way way better service. I mean no harm, just trying to help the community out and prevent someone from making the same mistakes I made.
I actually love newegg, and they get scammed all the time. I understand their return policy, and would do the same if I had a company like them. I've bought ~2k worth of stuff from them since last year, not a single thing wrong. Also, most of their return policies are actually with the company that makes the part, and in fact is that secondary company's policy.
Newegg has always been 100% awesome for me as well.
Once, I had a faulty mouse I bought and they didn't even make me send it back. They just sent a new one. Never had a more expensive part from them that didn't work, been buying shit from there for like 5 years.

Never dealt with Newegg BUT since it's retail well and all computer places I can understand. Not having all boxing pieces means that (if they were to resell) it would only be able to be sold as an open box which is typically must lower than an used product, in all boxing as they required for your PSU return. Since it was a dead unit, without the box, they may not be able to return to manufacture for their refund on the unit, hence a total lose x 2 (when factoring in your replacement PSU if they were to do so).
NOT saying they are completely in the right, but it just goes to prove, ESPECIALLY NOW during the holidays, you must be on the up and up on stores return policies, and how they change during the shopping seasons.
Well you do admit your own fault of throwing out the box. I mean, I sympathize that you got a broken part. That would indeed be very frustrating. But for future reference obviously it's best to keep a lot of that original packaging for awhile until you know everything is running smoothly. I bought most my new computer parts in July and still have the original boxes for everything for now just to be safe.
Again, sorry about your defective PSU, but yeah....
I had my computer built from buying anything off NewEgg. I got a dead hard drive and even thought it was a month past their 30 return policy they still let me return it and gave me credit for a new one. They are always fast on their CS calls(unless it's the holidays) and they have helped me a lot whenever I call.
Don't blame NewEgg because you were dumb enough to throw the box away even if it was working. I always keep important boxes like computer stuff, you never know when something is going to go wrong.
I've dealt with Newegg for as long as they've been around and only once have they ever failed to surpass my expectations. After an hour of verbal abuse, that too was resolved.
The moral of the story is, Newegg is good people, and if you happen to encounter someone who isn't good people when dealing with them, keep calling back and asking to speak with someone else until you get a good person. Problem solved. =)

Over the years I've built 3 PCs with all Newegg parts, and I haven't gotten a single faulty item. Maybe I'm just lucky? I'll be upgrading some components for my PC soon and already know where I'm going to get them from, Newegg.
I personally built my PC off ibuypower.com and am happy with my purchase, plus I hear alot of great things form newegg.com.
I sympathize with your plight but it is kind of your fault, even I still possess the retail package with my rig.
I got my laptop about 5 years ago from ibuypower.com, after maybe 2 - 2 1/2 yrs the video card went out & I found out it is no longer manufactured. ibuypower is still not a bad option for people who want something more custom without building it themselves, the lesson I learned was never bother with laptops!

Same here. Me and most the people I know have had nothing but good things to say about newegg.

Yes. It's called "open box." Never, ever, EVER buy an "open box" product from Newegg.
So its just a way to scam more people? Glad we are making this public info. Beware Newegg people... beware. To them we are just "GAHHHH FRESH MEAT"
No they refurbish them I'm sure. Newegg has been great to me. Always keep your box and you never have problems.
