DH - Spike Trap groups, a'la my thread in theorycrafting & analysis. This group can do nearly 10,000% weapon damage at the start of a fight. That's 100x of auto swing damage. I feel this bears some testing, but I expect this to truly be a power house. Even in a situation of a boss fight - 3 people can setup traps while 1 distracts, the 4th will bring the boss to the traps. I expect this to be very powerful, and clear through inferno with relative ease. Solo, I expect taking triple trap in 1 button to allow for tons of AoE burst damage, with little risk to self. I expect this to be the first class to clear inferno. With a very defensive build - or a group of 4 DH, little co-ordination, These guys I expect to be a power house.
Monk - With lower armor, but higher dodge, abilities that make him invulnerable, and great defensive abilities - I expect this to be the #2. Even though he's melee, he has an invulnerability, AND something that keeps mobs for reaching him for a while. The Tactical nuke build looks to be the highest burst damage, with no setup, in the game so far. With damage, Great defenses, heals, and ways to increase his dodge to incredibly high levels - I expect these guys to be the first to reach unhittable, or if there is a cap - the equivalent of hammerdin in Diablo 2.
Witch Doctor - Low armor, Bad defensive skills, Low dodge, but gods of control. This is my #3, but I expect to be the most saught after class to join your inferno game. These guys can take enemies straight out of the fight. Mass Confusion, Giant Toad, Control with 80% slow Grasp of the Dead, Hex, Powerful Wall of the Dead, and the most powerful buff in the game - big bad voodoo - these will be a welcome addition to any game. Alone, however, I expect their slow killing, and weak defenses will get in the way. I expect them to be strong, but nowhere near as powerful as #1.
Wizard - Low armor, so-so defense skills, low dodge, decent control. These guys win fights through damage, I expect that to be an issue through inferno. With limited control(Blizzard for slow, Slow time for projectiles, Ice nova, and wave of force), limited defensive abilities(Teleport, Mirror image), and RNG based abilities(Lightning - stuns), coupled with mostly offensive passives, I expect these guys are ones you want in your party, but not ones who will play well alone.
Barbarian - Great armor, Good defense skills, bad control. These guys are going to destroy normal. They'll probably wreck through Nightmare, and probably even hell. I expect the first level 60 to be a barbarian. These guys will probably do very well through the game, but I expect inferno will hit them like a brick wall hits a car. Nothing will be left. Ultimatly I think Barbarian + Monk(with his aoe heal) will synergies amazingly, once the barbarian goes tank mode. These guys will probably be tanks on wheels, but still be too slow at killing - getting killed themselves, or will be too squishy that the higher damage, more threatning monsters will be too much of an issue.
Keep in mind, these are just my ideas. We obviously lack a lot of data, and I'm making conclusions based on what I understand. Some of this might be wrong - don't freak out. Just my idea on how I see the game, currently.
TLDR: I expect difficulty of clearing inferno, by class, to be: DH>Monk>WD>Wiz/Barbarian.
A ~15 votes lead over couple other classes is overwhelming indeed.
As overwhelming as your DH and theorycrafting knowledges?
olololol
Actually DH hasn't gotten more then like 10 votes since the option to vote "None. There is 100% perfect balance between the classes." was added. Just the old results that are completely skewered since you had to vote for one of em
Lol, I'll give in 2 weeks. 14-16 hours of play per day for 2 weeks = 210 hours. Should be enough for someone to get through it with a bit of planning, luck and RL cash.
nah... it's basically about spending time repeating the same RNG content. it'll take at least a couple weeks to solo each act, maybe a month for act 4. HC characters will probably spend so much time being defensive and careful not to die that they will take especially long to clear inferno. and much more involved in research and investing in their characters via crafting, which takes time (more rng)

really? you think people will spend HUNDREDS of hours on ONE act in inferno? considering acts arent that long that means you will be repeating each tiny area like 200 times.....

Yeah that's pretty accurate. We can say maybe a week to two weeks farming Hell for enough gear to STEP INTO Inferno. Then maybe a week or two of act one TRASH farming to clear the act bosses, then you can expect some time of act boss farming to step into the next act, probably summing up to about 3 weeks to a month of each act. This would obviously get more difficult as the acts progress, which would result in more time. I think my initial expected time was 4 months, but it could be as long as 6 months before a clear comes out. Hardcore will take at least a year or an exploit/nerf to clear it.

wow....... those are some insanely over exaggerated time frames. i mean are u still expecting it to take that many months even if people are playing 8+ hours a day 7 days a week? and is this for the average player or for the veterans?

It's not worth making time estimates for people who plan to go outside. It's already been shown how much of a gear check Inferno is gonna be, with specific loot from Inferno and late Hell that you NEED to push through the acts. Every act drops better loot and you NEED that gear to continue not only to the next act, but through the current act. Unless you are actually Jesus himself, you're not gonna have the kind of luck to get this gear in less than 2 weeks time.
And on the topic of the thread, I think Barb is going to have the most trouble solo'ing Inferno. It's not how many defensive abilities you have as a class, it's how many you can fit in a build while still being able to actually kill shit. Barb's can fit maybe 2 into a build while still having enough offensive power to kill shit, this can also be said for a couple classes, but I think for Barb it will be the worst.

The more important matter of fact would be : even if it was really overwhelming, what would it prove besides that alot of people in Diablofans agree with him?
For someone who values his 'theorycrafting skill' highly, he doesn't even know how to tell what proper proof is.

maybe, maybe not. but 4-6 months? not even close, even the casual gamers will have it beaten long before month 3. (casual being = ~2 hours of play a day, hardcore being 8+)

That'd be estimating that "Hardcore" players will beat it in two and a half weeks, which is generally regarded as retarded, which I don't think you are, but your estimate is. We'll see how it turns out, but I'd be surprised if someone beat it by the third month, more surprised but still understanding if they beat it by the fourth month.

yes exactly. 2 to 3 weeks is when i plan to have it beat. some days i will be playing 14 hours a day though, although i do have a full time job so that really hinders it. ill be posting a thread shortly after release to show my progress rushing through and i know a few people will comment with their progress and it may be even better than mine which i fully expect.

Monk, because to me he seems to be overall the worst class in the game.
Monk also has the best defenses overall in the game, You are going to want a Monk with you in inferno, if I had my pick, I would say the Wizard will have the hardest time solo'ing in inferno with the mobs that teleport to you even after you blink, it will be very hard for her to run away.

Well I'd love to see that, because I and most people who are taking hardcore seriously would be shocked. I'll be playing around 14 hours a day most days, no job, taking summer semester off, and I don't expect to clear it before month 4. Estimating two weeks is saying that the random idiotic "LOL ITLL BE CLEAR BY 2 WEEKS" people are correct, which is just stupid.

no i will be playing softcore not HC. i mean hardcore as in playing a ton each day lol woops. :P. so those are your estimates for HC not softcore?
also im not saying all the idiots saying "lol noobs itll be so easy" will achieve this. im saying me and other veterans who are skilled will.

I meant Inferno, just a mistype. My estimate is still 4 months ATLEAST for SC Inferno. Not worth arguing it when there's no data and you assume that skill means you can get the gear you need instantly. Good luck with your two weeks.

agreed. yes there is definitely skill involved, but it also depends heavily on the gear that drops for you. it is foolish for anyone to assume they are going to sail through inferno in 2 weeks imo
