jees guys. this is a release speculation thread. not a flame on Jay/Blizzard thread.
Unless you work at blizzard, you have no more of a clue as to whats going on then the rest of us. relax with the judgment calls.
Do i wish the game was in my hands and ready to play? of course. do I wish the world was black and white and they had a release date set in stone? sure do.
Is that the way it is? no.
If they just didnt say anything about anything until they were 100% sure, then you would all complain about the lack of info. If they gave you their honest best guess, but they end up being wrong, you would complain that they are liars or incompetent. so they try to feed you little tiny tidbits of ambiguous information, and you just jump to conclusions and complain anyway.
I personally would prefer no info, but some prefer hints, and some just prefer some news, even if its wrong, to at least know somethings being done.
In the industry I work in. being 9, on a scale of 1 to 10, as to how close to done. means only a year or two. everything has perspective, and its not always the one you have.
Im pretty sure Jay has a decent idea of when the game will be ready to ship, if he didnt he wouldnt be very good at his job.
Sure he has an "idea" as you put it so nicely. My point exactly, being that he only has an idea. He knows that the game will be ready to ship for Q2, he knows that he can announce a date within a week or two, but what he doesn't know is an exact date for that announcement. He doesn't know if it's tomorrow or if it's a week from now, cause lets face it. Things are done when they are done.

The game is way more likely for Q3 at this point.
I fear you're right
It was back in January when Jay Wilson said on a youtube video to the korean fans that "the release date is nearing..."
It was 3 months ago. And still we have absolutly no clue about when the game will be released.
Yes. Lately they have been saying, that they have news about the release soon. I could easily be bad news such as a Q3 release. All this waiting is driving me crazy! :-)
The following is merely a thought I had last night, and maybe it's a crazy one, but I'll share it anyway: What if Blizzard secretly ships the game out to all the retailers and blows the lid off the gaming world by announcing that the release date is "next week!" (or sooner). Would this be impossible without it leaking and/or would this be a poor business decision? I'm don't keep a close eye on big game releases over the years so I'm not sure if it's ever been done before. I imagine they could theoretically call the game good to go any time now and begin mass producing hard copies over the next few weeks. I think it'd be a nice treat for us fans who have endured years and years* of development. Perhaps Jay would keep us waiting on a release date for a few more weeks while the logistics are nailed down and the ball is rolling... then announce the date on, say, the 10th and he'd tell us the date is 'April 17th'. Thoughts?

I make sure people go to jail. The only thing more fun is Diablo 3.
would be fun, but seems extremely unlikely. They'll always want like a month for promotion. Not everybody pre-ordered like we did. Some people (kids and poor people) may still have to save before they can afford the game etc
anyone else who has to save for 60 dollars definitely has bigger things to worry about then Diablo 3. although.... if they let you buy D3 with food stamps..... id go another week without food

"once the pretty hardcore gamers we had testing inferno found it fairly difficult, we then we doubled it" -trolololol jay wilson
ok here's my speculation.
Jay's tweet https://twitter.com/...363376219176960l
Look at the video length.
"Never stop dreaming... " , Diablo 3 release date May 19th
This is what I mean by reading into tweets / posts too much. I think you're joking though, hard to tell over the internet.

Maybe the defunding of NASA is a veiled reference to Blizzard's exodus of WoW subscribers...and that they can't fullfill our dreams (D3) unless someone forks over some more cash.
The joke's on us. This is Diablo 3. It's a forum based, social game where people argue about a fictional game that will never come out.
Truly a next gen experience.
So far it's sold 9 billion angry posts.

Unfortunately you can find about 8 other barcodes for the game on sites similar to that one.
