posted a message on Diablo 3 installer
    Hey guys. Quick question.

I'm currently downloading the game files with the new installer, but it has run for over 6 hours now and still misses nearly 2 GB. So my question is thus:
Can I quit the installer (time for bed) and then resume at the same point tomorrow seeing how it's P2P? Or does it have to be downloaded it one go, so that I will loose all progress if I stop it now?

My intuition says I can safely shut it off for the night, but not entirely sure, so would be nice with an confirmation.

posted a message on "One of the Chosen" Feat of Strength
    Quote from Quimeraec

    Quote from SaracenS

Alright let me articulate why I don't think this is fair. Blizzard has stated in the past feats of strength were something very difficult or something that is impossible to obtain anymore. They have maintained however through actions and wording that everyone has a chance at the feats. But with this beta that has been flipped, not everyone could have a chance for this feat, infact short of black martket buying a CD Key from a fansite there was no way to be guaranteed to get it.

All i had to do to get into beta was to subcribe to a nvidia newsletter. They were giving away invites to the first 400 subscribers.

They also gave away invites throu twitter and anybody could have been checking twitter to get those invites.

SO in my opinion this feta is strengh qualifies for this criteria.
Couldn't agree more. There has been plenty of competitions in which you could have won a key. Sure some of those you needed to watch twitter 24/7 and then be super fast when it came, but you had the chance, only the opt-ins were random.
So it still very much qualifies as a FoS. A hard one sure, but none the less.

posted a message on 4 weeks until i beat inferno
I honestly doubt that even the hardcore gets through inferno in less than a week, hell actually even 2. I'm thinking something like 20 days for the best.
Then again, it does amaze me what people are capable of, so who knows.

He meant if those you talk to, actually HAVE beta access, or if they like you have just gotten in through this.

posted a message on Why is blizzard making D3 like WoW?
@logic: Can't say i agree at all. That something is old doesn't make it good.
The hostality concept of D2 was one of the only things that I didn't like at all.
I loved playing with my friends and actually rarely came upon jerks that ruined our game by hostality.
So that it's cut is just a good thing, making a good franchise great. It stills retains all the core values of the old while adding new to the poll.

    What zero said.

At least (imo) they should have given a few more pages. Like the entire Angiris Council. I got the book so I don't really care, but for others sake :)
But yeah they start the unlocks really slow. Lets hope for something better at 30% ^^

posted a message on SK bug - The hidden door
    Hi Diablo fans.

I've got a little treat, by the way of a fellow player, who got bugged at the Skeleton King Quest. The door to the skeleton king was unlocked and so he would walk straight in, without mobs OR skeleton king to block the way.
As you can see from the beneath screenshot, the "door" onwards is open, the throne revealing a hidden staircase, down deeper into the catacombs.
That should effectively end the question about how and where we will continue after the skeleton king ;)

But does this allow you to use only 1 extra teleport before the CD begins or will it reset after every successive teleport and you can use it until you're out of AP?
It simply means that you can teleport infinitely many times within 1 second. So it's limited to how many times you can teleport in that time after the first teleport. My guese would be 2-3 times.

Holy crap ask about spike trap-scatter

Yes please ask this (whether or not using the scatter run makes the hatred cost 90 or you cast all 3 for the cost of one)

Also clarifications on which %dmg increases are additive and which are multiplicative, or how to find out
Ahh good, was gonna ask for a more "in-depth" question on that one, since I wanted to know exactly WHAT it was ya wanted to know ;)

Keep em coming, sounds good so far :)

posted a message on Questions to Blizzard
    Hi guys.

Blizzard has been answering questions from fansites across the globe, and it seems that the time has come for the europe-ones now.
We're a full danish forum coming with questions, but seeing how I can't think about everything myself, I thought I'll let you guys get a chance at posting a few questions yourselves. I'll take the best and add them to the pool, so that hopefully we can get some really cool stuff answered :)

However, as Blizzard said to us: "Please limit your questions/subjects to the specific area of raw gameplay mechanics".
So they won't be answering lore, or otherwise, only questions related to how gameplay mechanics such as specific skills, crit, dogde, etc. works.

I'll gather answers the next 3 days, so you have a little time to get some creative thinking in ;)
And thanks for all the good questions in advance.

    Regards Fifikus

Yes because Duriel killing us in act 2 in one hit sometimes just wasn't OP. It just means that you have to adapt ;)

Don't kid yourself. There will definitly be armor ignoring or at the very least armor penetrating abilities in the game.
While i cannot give you an source it's just so intuitively true and as far as i remember they did mention something about it as a sidenote for some question at some panel/interview.
And if you think about it, that makes perfect sense too. It makes people wanna use both atributes instead of just the one, something blizzard always strives to achieve. The inclusion and importance of all things.

posted a message on Strength vs Vitality
Both are gonna be very important. High life is worthless if you don't have armor to protect it and armor is worthless if you don't have the life to back it up.

    One key aspect to remember:
Armor suffers from diminishing returns (the damage reduction per extra armor will grow slower the more you get to prevent people from obtaining 100% dmg reduction)
    Life does not

Since added life increases linearily and armor increases exponantially, there will be a breakpoint where it is more efficient to add additional life instead of armor. I'm sure some theorycrafter will figure that number out for a level 60 char.

So in the end we will need both. Armor will be more important to a certain point and then life will take over.

Also remember that armor won't do you any good if a monster has an ability that does high dmg which ignores armor and hence one-shots you if your life is too low due to high armor.

posted a message on How long do you think it will take you to finish Inferno ?
Honestly a very subjective thing, seeing how someone might have 10 hours to play a day each day and could be done within a week and others only a few every second day which might make them take months.
I think hours spent would give an more accurate picture of thing.

Personally with the time i have I'm thinking a month should do it and i actually hope for more. But ultimately I just don't know.
Hour-wise I'm thinking 70-100 hours spent for the pro gamers and much more for people less experienced.
