posted a message on So do people here actually like the game?

I'd say most posters here like the game or at least have interest in it's future success. There are very blatant haters however they usually don't survive very long as it becomes obvious to normal posters here.

Sure we all disagree on a lot of stuff but usually it's a thoughtful discussion that ultimately shows that the diablofans community do care about the game. I actively play on and off but as long as I'm not super busy with school I try to stay active with these forums.

I'd say I still enjoy the game but I don't play it 6 hours a day, which I think is the reason why I still like it ;p.

The PTR is not meant to satisfy your need for new content, so all of these "I quit because of what's on the PTR" people honestly in my opinion are idiots who didn't even intend to buy the expansion anyways.
No, the PTR is there for people to test whatever's in the PTR, and give feedback. And what's in the PTR gives an indication of what will be in D3 classic. So what if people don't plan on buying the expansion? They still bought Diablo 3, still want to play it, and have the right to, at least, not have it become worse because they're not buying the expansion. The expansion is just that: an expansion. More content. It's not supposed to be an instrument to tell players "either get on board or get lost". That so many of you are willing to accept practices like this, hell, even support and defend them, is way beyond my comprehension.
I agree with what you say. However it's just not how Blizzard practices business these days. It's important people understand that the Vanilla D3 will not be balanced once RoS comes out. That's all I'm trying to say really. Should it be? Of course, nobody should be forced to buy the expansion. That's just how it is these days with gaming companies. I don't agree with it or support it, I just kind of see what is there and read the book blizzard is writing I guess. Look at EA. They release they same damn sports game every year. Dramatic changes only come every 3-4 years. However they don't let you update the rosters/player ratings once the new one comes out. Is that fair, forcing people to buy a new one every year? No not really. Do they care? No not really. Do people buy the new version every year? Yes they do.

posted a message on Vanilla needs atleast a few RoS features

Based on the replies already I feel it's pointless for me to mention my thoughts, but I will anyways:

Yes it's a lame "excuse" but you have to buy the expansion. The game is evolving and most if not all will be buying the expansion (who still play the game). There will be no balance for a Vanilla D3 experience because that's not the intent. The Reaper of Souls features have been on video and streams for about a month now. Everybody should know where they stand on the future of the game.

The PTR is not "RoS Beta lite". It is testing the core system changes that are being implemented likely 2 weeks to a month before the expansion. Based on how Blizzard has treated these types of patches with WoW - they likely don't care how awkward or broken the vanilla version will be for two weeks. The PTR is not meant to satisfy your need for new content, so all of these "I quit because of what's on the PTR" people honestly in my opinion are idiots who didn't even intend to buy the expansion anyways. Again, these features have been on display for a few weeks now. You know what you're getting.

Reaper of Souls is the new game. If you don't buy it you don't get most of the new features. Either way, I don't care. The point is the PTR is not "RoS beta lite" and vanilla D3 will no longer be the main focus of balance once everyone has moved on to RoS.

Unless they do something about the Amulet situation I'm going to be uninstalling this garbage PTR version. I have several level 60 crafted amulets that myself and my followers use, these have been now bumped up to lvl61 and are unusable in PTR. I lose huge amounts of health, and offense by having to switch to spare junk amulets I have. I crafted my amulet after many tries in D3 now only to be ripped off by Blizzard. Blizzard has got to be one of the most infuriating companies to deal with I have ever seen.
This is a scary reply. Swapping to a junk amulet on PTR should be no big deal. Blizzard isn't ripping you off, if you feel that this is a rip off you should have felt ripped off when they announced the level cap was going up in August.

posted a message on Paragon 2.0 UI Suggestions

I agree. I also feel like the whole interface needs to overhauled. The new main menu and in game menu are so empty, ugly, and unbalanced. The new inventory window is also somewhat painful to look at. I'm hoping the current UI's are temporary because look like they were thrown together with no thought process whatsoever. Which is fine for a beta, I just hope they know how ugly they all are.

posted a message on So D2, where were these guys at?
While there is likely to be lore explaining it, to me it's just their continued philosophy of not trying to be D2. They didn't want to bring back all the same classes so they redesigned them or renamed them. The sorceress is now the Wizard, and the Necromancer has been redesigned to be the Witch Doctor. The Crusader is along those lines - it's a paladin but they are trying to make it different.

posted a message on Release date of Diablo 3, from Russia with love
It's probably real however Blizzard probably won't announce it until next month. The last few years they have not made release date announcements until exactly two months before the date. Jan 25th is a Saturday so it may come the 24th or not until the 27th, but I wouldn't expect official word until then.

Also, it hasn't been officially announced yet. Just like the ladder, or devils hand ;P. So since there has been no announcement the date could change. I'm not trying to be a party pooper here I just like to remind people to keep their expectations in check. I hate reading threads of people complaining about things that were never announced not being released.

posted a message on are invites for RoS beta be free or going to be by pre ordering RoS??
They addressed this at Blizzcon and while they didn't say no they didn't say yes. Their answer was that pre order details have not been announced yet.

I'm sure despite what they do with pre orders there will be a random chance of being invited with a battle.net opt in.

posted a message on What will keep me playing?
Just quit the game man. Just don't play. I haven't seen you post anything positive on this site ever. Criticism is fine but if you don't enjoy playing don't play. There's plenty of active discussion among many forums analyzing the expansion (as in what we have seen so far). If you like it, play. If you don't like it, don't play.

Nobody is going to sit here and try to convince you why you should play.

If what is being presented isn't pleasing then don't continue to play, don't buy the expansion. It's really not that hard.

posted a message on How do you guys feel about Bounty and Rifts?
I think the post brings up some legitimate concerns about the direction of Blizzards end game. While the poster makes the mistakes of saying in Vanilla you these 5 runs and in RoS you have two runs, bounties and rifts, the point he is trying to make is that the rifts and bounties replace traditional farming methods.

I know it's still very early and it's absolutely no where near panic time. However it is a concern we should raise. My impression of bounties/rifts before Blizzcon was that they would be found on your traditional farming routes as some type of surprise. However how the system works now is you just open your map and you are told exactly where they are. This does not promote any other type of open world exploration in adventure mode. In fact it's not even adventure mode it's bounty mode.

I'm not 100% sure about how the rifts work but my understanding is you get a key, and you open it up in town. Why in town? That is the most accessible thing I've ever heard of it. Put the obelisks that open the rifts in the open world so we have to find them and have a reason to explore.

I also feel that rifts and bounties should compliment current adventuring and not replace it. One criticism I have had of Blizzard in recent years is that it seems that they fail to compliment new features with existing features and just downright make the new features replacements.

I know it's still beta and that's why it's important that I post this. It is important for everyone to remember that this is an exclusive public invitation to friends and family beta and this is nowhere near complete. I don't expect RoS to launch any sooner because 3,000 people have access to the F/F beta. I still feel that it will be a summer launch. This conclusion is kind of irrelevant though, so I'm hoping people quote the above feedback and not my release date prediction.

posted a message on Should everything be wiped at the start of RoS?
No because it's not required and it's unrealistic. As others have said, a ladder accomplishes this.

In terms of hoarded items, I've already got rid of mine before everyone catches on that they will be useless in RoS. I got rid of all of my gems, tomes, and crafting mats this morning.

As far as Paragon and Gold where those are things people earned while playing. Sure some people bought it on the RMAH but people will always buy third party gold w/o an AH.

Just because Vanilla D3 is subpar, doesn't mean peoples accomplishments should be reset. There are people who enjoy playing (such as myself, on and off) and there's no reason to reset progress. Just the idea of resetting progress makes it seem like vanilla was irrelevant. It's still a part of the game whether it meets expectations or not.

There's things to log on and do. If one doesn't feel compelled to do so then fine, wait for the expansion. However people do enjoy playing now and their experiences and accomplishments in terms of paragon and achievements should not be disregarded.

posted a message on RoS Beta initial impressions?
Act V looks awesome. I also really love adventure mode, the bounties, and new difficulty system/level scaling.

As far as itemization is concerned I'm reserving judgment for a few more major builds. I still think BoE is a better solution than BoA. However, it appears Blizzard wants to bind items to accounts now which I don't 100% support but don't 100% not support. I'm in the middle. As far as the stats on items, I think there could be a little improvement.

Yes, RoS is terrible because it doesn't have raiding.

Jesus Christ, DiabloFans... what have you turned into?

I stand by my theory that this game received such harsh criticism partly because half the people that bought it thought it was WoW with a different camera angle.

THey probably will cut ladders also since the PS4 version cant really do that stuff... kind of sucks.

Ladders haven't even been announced yet so ............

In regards to the original post, I don't really tend to get too fussed about things being scratched. It usually probably means that it didn't fulfill what they were hoping. I know plenty of things like the tailsman, mystic were scratched for original launch but what if the Tailsman sucked? Of course the mystic provides argument that they just saved it for a content patch/expansion, which I really don't know/have an opinion on.
