the +xxxx-xxxx holy damage on your weapon works the exact same way as any other +xxxx-xxxx damage of any other element, don't bother rerolling it.

The +% elemental damage like from Magefist or Cindercoat work on the spells and not on the weapon and the spell element converts all the damage of the weapon to the element of the spell.

The only case in which +xxxx-xxxx damage works differently depending on the element is with the "Elemental Exposure" passive for the Wizard, but since you are playing a crusader it should not bother you.
is it worth having either way? would it hurt or benefit me to roll it to something like cool down reduction or even attack speed?

I've been searching and threads are months old or talking about % ele skill. I've seen a couple things on the topic but other threads says there will be updates. So I thought I would just ask.

I'm running fire skills with a crusader The stats are as follows. I'm wondering what I should be re-rolling because I've heard certain stats don't really apply and why. Was hoping someone could clarify how the current system is working with "+% damage" and "+111-111 Ele Damage."

    I got a fun one.

I received both the release date email -and- another email stating that my order was automatically updated to Release Date shipping for only .99 cents. A couple days later I check the status and not only is my order still set to 1 day shipping, i'm still set to pay $9 in shipping costs.

Contacted customer service and they claim that Amazon had to pull back some of the release date shippings because they couldn't guarantee everyone they had given it to would receive it on release day, the only plus is that she lowered my shipping costs to .99 with 1 day shipping. The bad part... It says "Estimated Delivery: May 17th" even with 1 day shipping.

Update! I randomly checked the Amazon website, release date was finally available and I selected it on the spot. Estimate delivery now shows 15th, yay!

same after all my bitching it updated and I selected the delivery date shipping.

So I contacted amazon again and was lucky enough to get this guy who actually helped me. He didn't have to really, I just wanted to know if I was going to get a copy and release date shipping and he upgraded my shipping at no cost. I guess that means I won't be getting release date shipping but I'll still get the game within a couple of days.

but the thing is, she basically lied when she said "the release date is not known yet."

I'm quite certain she didn't lie to you. I'm also quite sure she doesn't religiously follow Diablofans.com, nor does she have an intimate knowledge of all of the products on all of Amazon which number in the millions. What she DOES have, is some sort of internal guide that did not get updated in the 2 day time span (over a weekend) between Blizzard's release date announcement and your conversation.

Give it a few days, and if it becomes available, you'll either be told or see it yourself. Shipping isn't a limited engagement, you could change it a week before and it would all be just fine.

so other customer reps can discuss the fact that they're able to offer release date shipping to other purchasers and is in their system for it(honestly by proxy this invalidates anything you're "quite certain" of)but for the simple fact that it has not been made available for me is the exact reason why I was wanting to contact them since I actually got an order in before they stopped making them. Never mind the fact that Amazon was able to update part of their systems to notify me that the PUBLISHER was updating the release date. but yet this unknown to a customer service rep.

So amazon updates their site by offering release date shipping to a few purchasers. Amazon updates their systems to actually send me an email that the publisher has updated the release date. other customer service reps offer this to specific purchasers EVEN TO PEOPLE WHO PLACED THE ORDER THE SAME DAY AS ME. but yet the sales rep who I spoke to is oblivious to all of this. obviously she's not following anything her company is doing. thanks for your insight.

I have to make a quick edit here.

Here is my problem with this* customer service rep. Nothing that I said reached any part of this persons brain.

My only question was "is this going to be available for me."

she responded "we don't have a release date."

I said. "yes you do, and the offer you're stating is contingent on a 'release date' has already been offered to other purchasers and you even sent me an email notifying me of the release date."

she said "yes we still don't have a release date because im a stupid bitch and didn't hear anything you said."

I said "I'll try to be polite here and simply restate my question of whether or not this option WIll become available to me"

she said "if it can ship to that date(which is most likely only contingent on being in the main states of the USA) or we make sure that we actually didn't make more promises than we can keep so that we can put you on back order and shove a big dick in your ass by denying you the opportunity to seek other venues to make a secure purchase for that date."

    yep...that about sums it up.

Maybe they aren't sure about shipments? If they've been told they will get one initial batch and then one later, it's difficult for them to promise anything.

Still annoying though, I know how it is.

If they're unsure I'm fine with that as an answer. but the thing is, she basically lied when she said "the release date is not known yet."

I just want a straight answer, thats all. I don't think thats asking too much. I can handle be told i can't have it my way. It's just frustrating when dealing with these customer service people when they basically read a script.

I have to be really careful about going off on these people. I haven't had much luck lately talking to these customer service people and have gone off on a few in the past month...but the thing that kinda got to me was I had already talked to one about the availability and I was told that there would be plenty of copies and there would not be a problem about shipping. now this "person" is telling me it may become available once they "sure up" their inventory. i had to end the chat there because I was at risk of going off on one of these people again.

wow I leave for work and return to a forum of rage faces.

I have to think a lot of the people raging is coming from a younger player base. I think most of the "older" gamer base has a lot more priorities to start getting all pouty because it didn't come out when they wanted it to.

If you want to see people who legitimately have a reason to be upset go look at the Mass Effect 3 guys...I feel sorry for that fan base. They basically got bent over a reamed and told "you don't tell me how to rape you."

A delay on the game does nothing. Even if I can agree that Jay Wilson has chosen his words poorly it doesn't go to the point of saying it was intentional for a PR stunt. The actual announcement of the release date may have been taken from them by the priorities of different announcements going on. If you're legitimately upset, wait till after they announce so that you may voice your concern once they call fully disclose all of their decisions.

Whats more is...It's still fully possible we could receive it today or tomorrow and all the rage faces are going to look quite silly. I don't think gladhehasbeta is even remotely close by saying it will be friday considering bashiok already commented on fridays event being "nothing special" if I remember correctly.

I'll just throw this in too. the fact that people complain about how long the game is taking is indicative that quality is not on their mind(the people complaining). I'm anxious for release as well, but I wouldn't sacrifice a bit of quality for a quick release. If they're taking a long time, it shows that they care about what they're actually releasing. We could always go to a Final Fantasy timeline and get one every year, but that doesn't leave any room for innovation, good plot with few plot holes, an immersive gaming experience, or a well developed game with few bugs.

They don't say anything (as usual) to not disappoint us.

But this time (and why Im especialy antsy / irratated / was sure it was today) Jay said 9/10 almost 2 weeks ago, then he makes a news post "Couting the DAYS" 3 days ago, ohhhh.. and that news post is tagged "sign of release".

Ohh lets throw in the whole "in the comming weeks" we got way way back at the conference call, then again in Mike Morhiems msg to the comunity..

It all adds up to very reasonably getting our hopes very high today..

guess im too old to actually get upset or irritated by this sort of thing. I still have my hopes for today, but I've got work here in a little and have to get ready. The only dissapointment I'm having today is that I had no good news today considering I had ordered several things online and was hoping some of it would ship today but haven't even gotten a single email today along with no release date on d3, so I'm a little pouty so far. but there is still time for something to go my way today.

    Tweet about additional tests?!

    maintenance /= release announcement

no idea why any of you are thinking that. it takes 2 seconds to upload an article and doesnt take maintenance to do so

no, but it can be indicative that they have a lot on their agenda. why someone would take the fact that the announcement didn't come out at the beginning of the work =/ release date, is more questionable to me.
