It is errie(sp) how quiet its been. I feel as if more people must have been allowed into the FF then i originally thought. It agonizing that they decided last minute to do a ff beta. And seeing people call wizards mages and ask questions that real fans would know the answers too. If they really want a stress test let the people thatll stay on for 12 hours at a time!
lol, everyone. It was clearly stated just before FnF started that there wasn't even going to BE an fnf. Then blizz themselves said they decided last minute to let FnF start first.
Edit: I completely agree with OP, it's freakin brutal to listen to commentary on a FnF video that talks about 'I didn't even know what diablo was, then somone was like hey! heres a key!'. I'm watching people play and start asking their friends about talent trees, and where do I put in my strength and dex at D=

"lol, everyone"? stated clearly where?
Jay wilson interview @ g4tv in october 2010
"lead designer Jay Wilson did tell us that there will indeed be a beta for Diablo 3. At this point, it will be a closed beta, most likely for "Blizzard friends and family," but these betas frequently open up to the public at some point" http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/708208/diablo-3-beta-confirmed/
As frustrating as it is for longtime Diablo fans to sit and watch new people play for the first time it is a necessary evil. Having a fresh set of eyes can give blizz an idea of how to make Diablo a lil more accessible to someone who isn't familiar with the series.

You're a real fan? You really love this franchise? If you love it, you have to know what's best for it. You have to let it go. You must understand that if we are to keep it alive for the next 15 years, we need to please as many WoW players people as possible.
I know how you feel right now. You feel abandoned. You feel betrayed. Rest assured, you're not the only one, every diablofan would lose their mind and mindlessly hate on the ones able to play the game right now... but we have to stay strong...
Jokes aside, on pretty much everything we do in our lives (and specially in long-term "contracts", like University), if we had no family or friends to support us the journey would be a lot less bearable.
I applaud Blizzard on recognizing that and letting every employee "thank" their relatives and close friends with an advantage of a couple days. It's also, like others said, a necessary evil.
