1. Birthright Quiz
2. Scales of the Serpent Quiz
3. The Veiled Prophet Quiz
Welcome back to the second Lore Quiz. If you missed it, you should check out the first one in the link above. Same deal as last time, five questions for each difficulty and one last tough one to round it off.
The book reference is also expanded, this time with Scales of the Serpent. In addition to featuring the same kind of information as last time, the important points now feature page numbers as well for easy lookup and confirmation. They've also been structured for easier perusing.
Spoiler Warning: Don't even read the questions unless you've already read, or don't care, about the books.
Here's a rundown of what the difficulties mean. Five questions for each except for master. Easy: These questions shouldn't be impossble to answer correctly even for people who haven't read the series. Medium: Slightly harder, these deal more with events in the book and probably require you to have read the books, though you might perhaps complete a few if you've gotten some info from forums and wikis. Hard: These are hardcore nerd details. Unless you've scoured the books you probably can't answer these. Master: If you nail this one, I'll be impressed. Requires cross-referencing to answer.
Here are the average scores of the five staffies who tested them for me again. One guy in particular is dragging down the score here a bit
Easy: 5/5
Medium: 1.2/5
Hard: 0.8
Master: 0/5

[*]1: A dragon is the deity/leader of the necromancers. What's his name?
The spirit is a remnant of a rebel demon that Lilith murdered in the past. Serenthia is at that time possessed by Lilith, which the spirit senses.(85&88, Birthright 256) I was thinking of making this the final question: "Which is the second largest towm Uldyssian has visited so far in the series?" Originally I think it's probably better, the problem is that the references aren't entirely clear which town that is.
It's probably Hashir, but it could be Istani as well. The exact quote is "Istani might have been smaller than Toraja or Hashir." However since Toraja is earlier said to be half again as big as Hashir, that makes the first quote quite confusing. It's like saying a city might have been smaller than Tokyo or Philadelphia, which doesn't make any sense given the size difference between the two.

I guess this is what Beta testers do... So bored out of their minds that they devise absurder ways to defeat the first boss of the tutorial...
This is kinda what a lot of people did with diablo2 in general.
All my gaming group did was make obscure builds. We had a thorns-druid who managed to rack up enough thorns-damage to one hit most minions in hell difficulty just by standing there. We had an unarmed-barb who got his minimum damage so high he just ran around punching things to death.
My biggest claim was the shockwave druid who could put hell diablo in animation-stun lock as long as he had enough mana to spam shockwave endlessly.
Sadly its difficult to make fringe builds in the beta since we have so few affixes to work with and no skill runes :/

That's exactly what the developers want the testers to do - find obscure, game-breaking things which they don't have the creativity/time to find so they can prevent them from going live
Any beta testers know whether the Attack stat boosts Thorns damage? Does Thorns damage scale w/ anything other than a couple of passives? (Ignoring Retribution Mantra/Aura and similar effects from runes, which are percentages of incoming damage).
5/5
4/5 - Rathman's birthname is not a medium question, definetly !
2/5 - Got the robe's one and the last about Mefis's statue.
0/1 - I completly missed the fact that the spirit tryed to attack Serentia because she was possessed by Lilith I would make a pretty bad dedective hahaha
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
"In time the hissing of her sanity
Faded out her voice and soiled her name
And like marked pages in a diary
Everything seemed clean that is unstained
The incoherent talk of ordinary days
Why would we really need to live?
Decide what is clear and what's within a haze
What you should take and what to give" - Opeth
