It says on the tooltip that Force Weapon increases weapon damage by 15%, but I think my DPS increases by more than that.
Does anyone know the math behind this?
Just a guess for - because I havent looked at any numbers - but its as though the Familiar Spark Flint takes your damage and actualy increases it by 12 %
Magic Weapon seems to do somthing like take your min / Max damage on your weapon (including extra stats like +damage on rings and what not) and increase THAT by 15% which in turn makes all your intelect effect those numbers more (Int gets stronger and stronget the more weapon damage you have).
Thats my take any way - would love to know if its correct.
There is no math I can see that makes sense.. last time I checked it was increasing my dps by around 30.5%.. No idea why... The other ones also increase your dps by around double their stated value aswell.... No one would use force weapon if it didn't do 18% more than familiar, and 10% more than the other magic weapons.

i think it's just that it increases weapon damage, then the weapon damage goes through all the other calcs, IAS, INT all get factored in, then in you Damage number it's actually quite a bit more then just a 15%buff. i haven't done the math myself but this idea here seemed to me like it made the most sense.
Yep. When using force weapon, take your weapon dps only. increase it by 15% then add in Int bonus and attack speed bonus. Remember that at higher levels most of your character dps comes from bonus Int and attack speed, which in turn are based off weapon dps
I thought of that too.
But the formula with attack speed and intellect, and without force weapon should be:
Weapon Damage * Attacks per Second * Intellect Bonus * Others
And with the force weapon bonus it would be
(Weapon Damage * Force Weapon Bonus) * Attacks per Second * Intellect Bonus
Which is really just equivalent to Weapon Damage * Attacks per Second * Intellect Bonus * Force Weapon Bonus.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
From what I've read and understand, the tooltip calculations applies the 15% buff twice (incorrectly obviously), but in reality it's working as it should.
