posted a message on Monster Power: More Guts, More Glory
In Inferno, in addition to increased experience, Magic Find, and Gold Find, whenever a monster dies and drops an item normally (whether it be gold, a potion, or a piece of gear), the monster also has a chance to drop an additional bonus item. The chance to drop a bonus item will scale up with each MP level as detailed in the table below.

Does this mean that at MP10 if a monster drops 4 items you get 5 or if it drops 4 items you get 8?

posted a message on Ranged: Worst Affix?
Nothing is universally bad on every type in every combination.. But I think I would vote for Vortex being the overall worst because it sucks with everything from fire chains, to waller, to fast, to arcane enchanted, to frozen... pretty much makes everything worse. I find Jailer usually isn't a problem unless it is fast jailer or jailer waller.. maybe jailer shielding since if they jail you when they go immune you are screwed.

posted a message on "Mirror Skin" the most used Wizard Rune
    Quote from Ghost_Sanguis
Remember, only 1.9 percent of people have touched inferno. Based off that percentage, I think it's safe to assume that a lot of people don't know what they are doing. Perhaps they are just following trend from their friends.

Ok but if you use that assumption.... Why would diamond skin be the most used skill? Wave of Force, Frost Nova, Electrocute, Magic Missile, Magic Weapon, Disintegrate, Arcane Orb... and many others seem more of normal/nightmare skills...

I would have guessed Force Weapon, or Crystal Shell would be the most used by far.. Prismatic Armor/Force Armor as another possibility.

Mirror Skin makes no sense whatsoever... I think the most likely scenario is that someone wrote down the wrong rune, or their tracking system has an error.

Regardless I think blizzard would have been better off stating the most used skills in level 60 builds.

There is no math I can see that makes sense.. last time I checked it was increasing my dps by around 30.5%.. No idea why... The other ones also increase your dps by around double their stated value aswell.... No one would use force weapon if it didn't do 18% more than familiar, and 10% more than the other magic weapons.

posted a message on Glass Cannon build viable?
I think Cold Meteor is probably better if you are going to go meteor but in this build I don't think meteor is very good. I only really think it is any good in Arcane Dynamo builds if even then. But I am assuming meteor does the dot over 3 seconds not 78% per second for 3 seconds.

I also think critical mass is not very good in a build that just has teleport and slowtime, if you are going to use critical mass you should have more abilities with cooldowns, like archon, wave of force, frost nova, diamondskin, explosive blast or mirror images...

Not really a huge disintigrate fan but I think thats more of a personal preference.

posted a message on Better Ability List?
No one has this information. Additionally you also need to know base castspeeds.. Which no one knows.. Electrocute is a lot faster for example.

I also have a feeling they were not very consistent in tooltipcs when something is dealing 40% over 8 seconds and they actually mean 40% per second for 8 seconds... On top of that you don't know attack rates for things like hydra, damage for archon abilities, and how some abilities (for example dots) change with increased attack speed.

Oh and don't forget the abilities that have a "chance" to proc on hit but they don't tell you the percentage...

Oh and abilities that have hidden internal cooldowns or say on damage but really mean only once per spell on damage.

posted a message on Wizard build feed back please
If you have a cooldown build with critical mass I am ok with Wave of Force being dps but I think exploding wave is much much better, you keep the knockback, and get more chances to crit and reduce cooldowns.

I would also second energy twist being terrible.

http://us.battle.net...Sg!XYg!acccZZ is sort of like yours, using electrocute as your free, wave of force for damage but also for defense, magic wep, slowtime... Could use archon instead of teleport depending on what your looking for, and arcane dynamo instead of astral presence if you aren't empty very much. Also not sure what the best Magic Weapon is.

posted a message on Will Entropy Gear Be A Must? Favorite Affixes and Why?
Keep in mind that something that gives +500 fire damage on hit, is much more valuable in a 1.5 attack per second weapon than a 1 attack per second weapon... Additionally something that gives AP on crit, or life on hit, etc is also more valuable

So while resource consumption is up, things that are per hit are improved (which could mean resource regeneration, damage, life gain, etc)

If it is a good skill then it merits a skill slot. If it doesn't merit a skill slot then it's simply bad, there's no in-between.

After level 60 you can't change your skills without losing your buff... If you could, then you would just add hydra to your build just before every boss.. Also It is perfectly acceptable for one person in the group to choose 6 skills with no aoe abilities while others focus on more on aoe. Not to mention the power of hydra is greatly dependent on how fast enemies die, if it is too fast the skill is bad, but every pack takes 15 seconds the skill is universally great.

If the question was, is hydra a skill that is universally good in all types of builds (like say electrocute, frost nova, and teleport) then the answer is no. Does it have a place in some builds, in some group compositions? I think so.

All things considered (and all skill runes) I think it is one of the worst wizard abilities, but it is not nearly as bad as arcane twister, or magic missile

My biggest problem with disintegrate is that it doesn't really accomplish anything special.

It's a key spell, punching through mobs to get to the mob behind that's summoning stuff. Honestly, it's the runes that are really outstanding. It becomes guaranteed hit on the correct mob for good damage, or a wicked AE.

I guess I just feel the circle based aoes hit a lot more targets, and have a much higher damage per cast potential, not to mention you can be more mobile and don't need to be standing still. You can teleport to get to a back summoner if you need, or just electrocute them from anywhere anytime (either the line based one or the 6 target one) I'd really like to see attack speeds listed by blizzard or a fansite somewhere to fairly compare various abilities as electrocute is probably twice as fast or more than most other abilities. I really doubt disintegrate out damages electrocute by very much in the average monster scenario, and is probably a downgrade after you factor in the ap consumption.

As far as line based aoes go.. The WD's giant fire bat is a 220% line based aoe, the DH's piercing impale is 250%, the Barb's line seismic slam is 255%, so really disintegrate doesn't compare favorably with anything.

    Quote from afkalmighty
A low cost turret not being 'good enough' for Inferno? Doubt it.

Hydras are obviously good.. it is more damage in a single cast, or for 15 ap than you could accomplish to a single target any other way[except the reflecting armors].. The question is, is it really worth one of your 6 skill slots.

posted a message on What will reviewers do?
    Quote from Serpenth
The real reviews will show up in about 30-45 days when the people writing these reviews dip their feet into inferno. I personally don't care what any site says good or bad. And I doubt Blizzard will care either as they will probably make record shattering profits in less than 72 hours from this post.

There is very very little chance that any of the major websites will get to inferno before posting their review, and if they do they will probably start it up, die on the first pack and go.... yeah, it is hard.. 99% of the time they post MMO reviews before even hitting max level, let alone trying the end game features such as raiding. These guys are going to be under big time pressure from their editor to get the review out the door, and considering I doubt blizzard setup a private server for reviewers to start playing early they are probably going to be atleast a week late just to print a "so i just finished nightmare" review.

My assumption is that there will be lots of reviewers that give it a terrible mark just for cutting pvp out.

posted a message on Building "Electrocute"
My biggest problem with disintegrate is that it doesn't really accomplish anything special. As far as piercing line aoes I don't think it is much better than lightning blast electrocute, it doesn't have the massive aoe potential as 20 yard arcane orb, or 22 yard blizzard, doesn't do top of line single target damage, not to mention arcane has the worst of passives.

I think it is actually best in a build that uses shock pulse as its signature ability or tries to go no signature with lots of regen. The one patch it had a 0 cost rune I was kind of excited.

If mobs are taking like 5-10 seconds to kill hydra should be pretty good. If everything is getting killed in a couple seconds it will be nearly useless.

So my feeling is it will end up pretty good in hell/inferno and useless in normal/nightmare. Still to be seen if it is worth the skill slot in inferno but it should be good for hell atleast.

posted a message on (Spoiler) Diablo III - Item Affixes
Hopefully the list is a product of the guide being finalized months ago. I especially hate the +skill affixes which are just terrible... 5% damage/crit on one ability which is competing with 50% dmg, 30% mix/max damage, 100% crit damage, or other abilities which just blow them away.

I was really hoping the plus skill items would modify the effectiveness of all green numbers in the tooltip... For example +magic missile would increase the amount of missiles fired if you had the multishot rune.
