posted a message on A Paragon Level 100 Bonus
I think the bonus of Paragon 100 is already big. I don't think adding more stats is good, some players are enough hysteric reaching the cap the fastest way possible for added MF/GF and main stats. Add CC, Crit Dam, Ias or whatever you want, and players will feel even more gimped if they don't reach the cap asap.

If you really want to add some bonuses to max lvl, cosmetic gear or effects are the way to go. I'm tired of Natalya, and every DH around me being the same :S

    Quote from KageKaze

This is something I probably could have put on my list of flaws for PoE, but I was on the fence about it. The skill drop system seems very cool in PoE untill you realize you have to get lucky to make a build you might be trying for. As an example, if you wanted to use GMP (Greater Multiple Projectiles) on a skill, you have to hope that a GMP skill drops. You can never ever get GMP from levels or quests. It is kind of exciting in some ways but I fully agree that casual players will probably hate that they may never get all the skills their class can use.

It's even more crazy when you add in Quality. My Arc Witch is doing fairly well, but I got lucky and found "Arc" with a high quality so it adds an additional chance to add status effects. If I wouldn't have found that I don't know if the build would be doing nearly as well. But there's good in that where builds in PoE can be greatly affected by items, which is something that Diablo 3 does lack. Once they get some legendaries with more risky and dynamic affixes on them, we might see some interesting D3 builds come out using them.

I'm not against builds tied to specific items, Diablo 2 was full of them and spiced up the game quite a lot (Whirlwind Assassin? Werewolf Barb?). I have this feeling that every build in PoE to be efficient needs that linked weapon with all those correct gems, but i never went past level 55, but it started to be quite tiresome as a Lightning Strike Templar to go on. I probably should have rolled something else.... yep.
Returning to Diablo 3.... the itemization is lacking and one dimensional. I hope to see different affixes, expecially in legendaries, to spice up builds. The best example i can give is the suggested Source that lets you summon two Hydras as a Wizard. For me that would be nice, i liked Hydras so much while i leveled my (now dead) Wizzy.

posted a message on Kripp and Alkaizer talk about Diablo 3
I started to hate large maps a lot when leveling new chars or messing around in act 2 in Diablo 3, damn, i hated Act 3 in D2 with such passion. Probably because there aren't many monsters to kill or are a pain to navigate.

I like what Kage said about PoE. I tried that game, and it's quite nice, but what threw me off was the actual skill system tied to rng sockets and rng drops and rng orbs to have another rng shot to your sockets. Yo DAWG!

I don't know, in Diablo 3 my character is quite functional with his skill sets, expecially now with Inferno being a looooot easier than release, i can play self found without stripping my hair to get that bloody weapon to have functional gem junctions.

Or maybe i just needed to roll an easier toon with an easier build to farm <.<' Or i'm getting old for this.

Thank you for posting this vid. I'm quite happy to see this difference of density in other acts. I can't stand act3 anymore, even if i don't play that much these weeks. My favorite act has always been the first one, expecially with the Pony Level after the Butcher, and i'm glad it will be a lot more fun to run with all those monsters to kill :D

posted a message on Kripp and Alkaizer talk about Diablo 3
I'm surprised this thread is still open. It will degenerate in a flamefest soon, if it's not already.
All i can say is: "Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one". Do you want to smell mine? Here it goes.
I didn't watch the vid, but one thing is sure: Kripp and Alk are streamers and they need viewers. Now they are playing PoE, so they need to exalt that game and ridiculize their competitor, aka Diablo 3. Fun fact, i never heard of these so famous streamers before Diablo 3 (as someone noted, Kripp was playing in WotlK, if i'm not mistaken, in Exodus... oh hi Yogg 0 exploit and ban); they made their share of money from streaming with D3 and RMAH and then dumped it. Kripp played some GW2 after because it was the next cool thing to play, now it's PoE.
In the end: these guys aren't E-Sport players, so they will change games when the market and general interest tell so, they need to keep up with fresh content to keep their viewers and ad renevue, so don't blindy follow some net celebrity to make an opinion for yourself, but use a bit of your brain.

Ps. I find hilarious that Female Barb avatar on Kripp's stream after talking shit of D3.

posted a message on "Ask the Devs" Round 2: Itemization - Answers (Part 2)
Oh boy, another Legacy type of items..... :S I hope they fix black weapons and elemental damage in a way Legacy EF and Triumvirate aren't the best even after the fix, just like Old Nat Set is considered overpowered but no longer droppable. (Yeah, yeah, you can buy from AH throwing money or gold at the screen, but this game is enough AH centric until a good solution comes).

posted a message on Developer Journal: Multiplayer Improvements
Filter for multiplayer games is a really good thing, I hated when i joined random parties and found out it was a PvP game, quite annoying and i abandoned co-op games quite fast. While most (read: all) of my friends stopped playing D3, it's boring killing monsters alone. Hopefully the new matchmaking and tweaks on co-op will make playing in group better.

posted a message on Should AH's be removed from Diablo 3?
    Quote from Chiron

I voted to keep them but change them. Basically I can see two options on how to "fix" the AH:

    1) Make it so that the items traded in the AH are not BiS items but instead you would need to acquire the best items by playing. Some suggestions regarding this approach:

Increase the number of BoA (or BoE) stuff and make them more powerful than "tradable" stuff and make AH flipping more difficult by forcing the player to wear the bought items for X hours before he'll be able to sell them again (or better yet, force the player to gather X amount of exp while wearing the item before being able to sell them).

Or maybe items sold through the AH would get a "curse" which would drop their stats by 20% or something and you could "dispel" this curse by gaining exp while wearing the item. Maybe even all items could get more powerful as you gain exp while wearing them and this "buff" would be removed if the item is traded.

Also one option would be to add in the Mystic and making it so that all Mystic-enchanted items become un-tradable so basically you would only trade "base items" and then you'd have to enchant them to make them more powerful.

    2) Decrease the convenience of the AH. One suggestion on how to do this occurred to me while I was playing PoE and here is my suggestion that I wrote on the PoE forums (slightly adjusted):

    The semi-automatic "Auction House";
    - A seller puts an item up and writes what he would want for it (gold/items/etc.) and the item would be "reserved" (or transferred) to the "Auction House" so the seller can't use it while it is posted
    - A buyer can then send an offer to the seller and the game automatically "reserves" the offered items/gold from the buyers stash so they can't be used while the trade is still "open"
    - The seller goes through all the offers he has got and if he accepts one, the trade is done automatically and all the other items offered by other players are freed. This would remove the hassle of having to agree on a certain time to be online with somebody.
    - The seller and the buyers could "free" their items at any time if they later decide they didn't want to trade and the trade is still "open".

    Thoughts?

PS. For me the worst thing in the "classic" trading system found in D2 and PoE is that trading takes so much time. I realize that it forces the player to really think what he should try to sell and what to scrap but still it just takes away too much of your time which really should be spent playing the game instead of browsing the forums.

I really like your idea of Semi-Automatic AH. I was thinking about something similar few days ago. It can be handy to trade a legendary with the wrong main stat for a similar one but with the right stat, or other items.

posted a message on Diablo 3 Director Jay Wilson: Auction Houses 'really hurt' game
I'm pretty sure the idea of the AH was thought with the best intention to provide a safe and easy way to trade but it's too convenient. We all saw the oversaturation of equipment because everyone wants to cash in to buy better stuff instead of salvage and craft, which was pointless before 1.0.7; AH provided better equipment.

Playing no AH-self found is something i did in hardcore, and it's quite fun but also tedious since drops are so random that it's no easy to find usable stuff. Not many are willing to waste countless hours to just find their own gear when they can spend 5-10 minutes and search for items with desiderable stats.

There won't be a legit economy for more than a few weeks, so I wouldn't get too excited about direct player trade.

Exactly, i heard about Borderlands on consoles (not that on PC it was any different), and the equipment hacking was rampant, so it was on Diablo 2 Open Bnet. Always Online is a pain for some and it didn't prevent duping, but it's a bit more "secure".

Thank you for this interview. As i thought, console and pc versions will play differently, for obvious reasons. However, i'd love to have no AH, better drop quality on pc version, so i feel a bit "scammed", but at least there will be some changes on the loot system for PC too soon™.

posted a message on Developer Journal: Itemization Update
The best thing i read is the new Legendary system. It's a shame that all those low lvl Legendaries don't get much love (rephrase, they don't get it at all). If Inferno drops all orange (brown? w/e) items scaled to max lvl, it gives some good diversity.

I still maintain that opinion. By making the best gear only drop in Inferno, esp. Acts 3 and 4, they caused us to get 'stuck' in Act 1 for ages. You couldn't even go back to farming Hell because the gear that dropped there was useless in gearing towards Inferno (if you could already run Act 1).
The only way past this was to exploit your way through, death-zerg the content, or buy all your gear on the AH. Btw, said gear was posted there by people who exploited or death-zerged the content.

I started playing HC~no AH~self found only.... and I've never had so much fun playing Diablo. It actually feels like a dungeon-crawler adventure for once.

The important point is that D3 offers players a choice. They can play the game in many ways, with restrictions or without.

I do agree that the last 2 acts of Hell should include more Inferno-viable gear.

That's something i started to do too, but when i reached act 3 Hell, i couldn't find enough gear of my level, so i bought some 60+ gear from AH and now i'm doing Inferno, hoping to get some good gear and recipes. Self found is the way to go to have a bit more fun, but it's frustrating when you reach 60 and all you can find in Hell act 3-4 is 52-58 ilvl :S
