Wrong forum, but probably about 3-4 million since its sockable so someone can put a high end LOH gem if needed. IAS is being nerfed so the DPS will prob drop quite a bit on the next patch.
1. Yes this is the wrong forums.
2. This is worth way, way more than 3-4 million. Try that x10.
Templar in places where there are ranged enemies, scoundrel for whimsy. Since everything in whimsy is melee, you stick a frost bow on the scoundrel and with his multishot skill, it's basically permanent caltrops level slow on everything. They die before they get to me.
Weird. I just did a quick search and i found a full page of amulets with similar/greater numbers. So if we are to believe the pricing on the AH, that amulet is worth around 10, maybe 15 million gold.
This isn't about what you should get. It's about what you can afford. 12 mil will get you a bow around 1k dps with +crit. Wanting extras like dex and more dps will put the bow outside your budget. I've sold 4 crossbows, from 8 million to 70 million. The lowest priced bow was barely 1k dps, with built in crit% and no stats. The highest priced bow was around 1300 dps with a socket. Take your 12m to the auction house, look up 2handers with a socket/crit damage, and buy the highest dps bow with the best stats that your 12m will allow.
Stick with the 2handers until you are filthy rich. A 1hander with a socket and built in crit damage right now with respectable dps costs an arm and a leg. Buying 2 will leave you limbless.
It isn't about what type of gear you should shoot for, it's about whether you can afford it or not. Increasing dps is a certainty the longer you play as you farm more and more gold. Your problem right now is that you can't afford some of the higher end stuff. knowing what other demon hunters are wearing won't really help you because the ones with 50k+ dps are wearing stuff you can't afford anyways. That said, if you want more dps you just focus on the traditional suspects of ias/dex/crit%/crit damage. How important each stat is depends on what skills you use and your play style.
Also,29k dps in act 2 inferno is exactly where you should be. I think i had slightly less when i beat act 1. You are supposed to die a lot -- this is normal. The only difference between demon hunters and everyone else is that we can still make progress while dying.
Dps is all about speed and efficiency. MF doesn't matter because most people have a separate mf set they switch to before they kill a champion pack. That said, at your dps you can farm anything in the game, it'll just be at half the speed as everyone else with better gear.
Beckon Sail is best-cheapest choice, good beckon sails cost though.
If you want absolute best combo, then you want Natalya's chest, boots and ring all with sick DEX on them and preferably +max discipline on chest. But getting boots with enough dex and a ring with enough dex to make it worth it is hard.
Never use Natalya's helmet over Andariels Visage.
Disagree. On a one to one comparison, Andariels is better, but not by much. A nats helm with a high roll will have 20 more dex and 5% chance to fear on hit is nothing to sneeze at. Andariels will give you more dps because of the IAS, but this advantage will soon be narrowed once IAS is nerfed. Andariels also gives 3% crit, but then 2 pieces of nats already gives you 7% crit. So on a 1 to 1 basis, Andariels post ias nerf will have a slight advantage.
But if you consider nat's set as a whole, the 4 piece bonus blows anything else out of the water, and you can't have the 4 piece bonus unless you wear nat's helm (unless you wanna use the crossbow ... lol) . A 42% increase in discipline regeneration literally cannot be matched by anything else you can get. You can get dex, ias, crit chance, whatever else stat from many other slots and gear pieces. There is nothing else out there than can give you discipline regeneration.
I don't agree, I'd rather have the DPS and the attack speed nerf (if it comes through) won't be that bad. I'd only use chest, ring, boots with high dex rolls if I were to switch Beckon Sail, the math backs this up - only reason to get helmet is to get the next set bonus in line after 130 dex which you spoke about - not for the DPS gain.
You are ignoring my point. My point isn't about dps. If we are only talking about dps, the beckon/Andariels combo wins -- i concede this (this assumption is contingent on the IAS nerf being inconsequential, we don't know this). The point I'm making is that the 4 piece nats bonus more than covers for the negligible dps advantage that the beckon/andariels combo provides. It's really hard to explain how useful an extra .42 discipline a second is until you try to play without it.
