It seems every DH I run into is sporting a big xbow with sharpshooter. I can't stand this build; it's just too clunky and slow, and while it's nice to look at massive 6 figure dps numbers inflated by sharpshooter, i just can't get over the feeling that surely there had to be something else better out there. So i sold the rare xbow i found in act 3 for 8 million and started retooling my gear for a 1hand xbow build based on crits and on hit procs.
So far, I'm loving the results. I'm running around 60k dps without sharpshooter and with about 60% crit chance with bait the trap. Spray of teeth and nether tentacles absolutely destroy packs and i basically never run out of discipline between nightstalker and preparation. And although i only have a few on hit procs such as fear/freeze on hit, the speed at which i throw out hungering arrows makes the procs land with enough frequency to make a difference in a fight. Most of all, this build is fast, flexible, and FUN. Not to mention yellow crits fill my screen every time i press down my attack button. I consider myself a sharpshooter convert. Is there anyone else out there ? It's kind of lonely
