posted a message on Inferno Diablo Downed on the First Attempt in My Entire Life
    Quote from Cinnamohn

(I'm new to these forums, so I hope this is the appropriate thread to post this in.)

Just to add to the title, with less than 2 million gold worth of gear. I've soloed the entire game from start to finish. This includes making enough money to buy the necessary gear to progress and even various champion packs from all 4 Acts. I don't play for a whole lot everyday, so it did take me 16 days from hitting Level 60 to reach this point.

I have been playing since launch, but I never made it past Act 2 Inferno until the nerf. The reason for this was that since I chose to play a Wizard first, I was able to go through the game with the super Force Armor and then they nerfed it as soon as I hit Act 3. I had absolutely no money left to support a new gear set. So, I decided to play around with other classes for awhile and eventually settled on a Barbarian. I made it midway through Act 2 this time around, and then 1.03 came in and prevented me from ever getting to try this in a harder mode.

I don't know if this is much of an accomplishment, but it feels like something to me. If you have any questions about anything, I'll answer them as best as I can.

Description: All commentary was recorded directly after the kill. This was to prevent wasting any time between Izual and Diablo, should someone feel that I am lying about this being my very first attempt.

it's not quite like doing it on hardcore, because hardcore involves a different AH, much less gear available, and no risk of losing your character clearing through the game and up to diablo inferno

posted a message on Players quitting after 1.0.3
    Quote from LDVinci

1.0.3 hit me just like most of the community. I didnt like it very much because it had more nerfs than buffs (I think i can count the number of buffs on one hand). Of course, when you make changes there are always cry babys talking about quitting because things aren't going the way they planned. If quitting is your ultimatum then there is no stopping you, but I implore you gamers to try something new. Stop being so stubborn.

Diablo was never about 1 class/build fits all. Diablo was never about stacking a single attribute or looking for that "end game" item where everyone will eventually be wearing the exact same thing. Diablo has always been a reap-what-you-sow game and ultimately it all comes down to either time or luck. 1.0.3 balanced the game. That's right, no more belial power leveling, goblin hunting, botting, and stacking. "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!" If it wasn't for this patch, I would still be running a glass cannon DH with 12k HP, stacking everything into DEX and Atack Speed. If I were stubborn I would have probably quit as well, but we are humans. Humans learn to adapt to challenges, work around obsticles. If we didn't have that in our genes we would have died along with the dinosaurs.

Fellow gamers, open your eyes throw away your stubborness. Stop stacking attack speed (ridiculously over priced) and single attributes. This is not a one build game, play around with the thousands of possible combination of builds and gears available. Read the class forums and try out other peoples suggestions. ADAPT. Find your own builds to post! THIS is the fun that Diablo was designed upon.

I for one, am no longer "kiting" packs with the fear that even a droplet of elite sweat could kill my frail glass canon DH. Instead, I can now stand and tank them. Now there are much more possibilities to try.

    Have fun

not stacking vit endlessly in diablo 2? then you was doing it wrong

    Quote from paroxysm2010

omfg, they have to fix this, i wont play torchight to this day because attack speed or """DPS"" is BS
animation speed = attack speed, if you have to wait before you can move again with certain weapons the game is basically LIENG to you about your attack speed, this is un acceptable, they need to fix this before they fix anything about item drops, skills, auction house economy, or anything else, this is just too stupid.

Yeah, instead of being more realistic, everyone should be able to fire the skill off instantly, so fast thatyou can't even see, but the time between these super fast attack should be based on attack speed.

    TL;dr:NOOOOOOOOO

posted a message on Diablo II memories are not reality
    Quote from R3FORM

It's not "rose-tinted glasses" or nostalgia. I've recently gone back to D2 and it is genuinely more fun than D3. The only things I'd take from D3 over D2 are the improved graphics (note- not improved art style), the combat engine, and... that's it.

If it were really nostalgia I'd go back and find it wasn't as good as I remembered., but now, probably thanks to D3, it seems better than I remembered.

I went back to d2 to see, and It wasn't fun. And keep in mind d2 had time for a lot of patches of a whole expansion. you can't compare lod to d3, there's so much potential in d3 still waiting, and by the time its over, people will either say "the game is so much better than vanilla" or "vanilla d3 was better than the rest of the series". Then in 15 years, people will only remember expansion d3, and it will be the game of legends.

game is telling you dont have enough dps for the next act

    pretty simple

21k isn't that much. with the damage nerfs you can sacrifice some survival to get some real dps now.

    LOLWTF...

Inferno got nerfed by like 50 % or more.. and you still cannot manage?

Chances are good that you sir, are in fact terribad beyond measure. Good day.

Even inferno before the nerf was easy, even for fucking barbs (If you had half a brain and knew how to farm a little and play the markets like a smart person)....

Wasn't even close to 50 percent

posted a message on 1.03...more bad than good???
    Quote from mnymn3

-seigebreaker now has reflect? there goes the best farming spot....

-being a DH nether tentacles now only hits a target once?? they do this but dont fix the sharpshooter bug????

-they fix the IAS problem on new legendarys, but all those ashearas locks are still broken??

    -the obvious IAS nerf

-shooting jars etc, dont give hardly anything anymore?? whats the point of having them in game?

    -increased repairs

i dont know how the other class charges are, as i only play a DH.

-the only positives i see is the drop rates and the reduced costs for crafting...

-lowering the damage of the monsters in inferno is cancelled out by all the dps nerfs

    anyone else feel this way??

SS has bugs but it doesnt actually affect it in any actual way but a slight inconvenience

Nether was too strong. and it was a bug, not a nerf

If you can still do siegebreaker, reflect doesnt make it impossible... if you can do champions with reflect and 3 other affixes, you can do siegebreaker.

Breakable objects are for environment interaction more than to be treasure chests.

There was no real changes to any class, just tooltip updates to what they actually do or damage type changes and bug fixes.

This patch is really great, but of course, allthe d3 whiners are gonna hate.

posted a message on Possibly World First 4k+ Achi Points
    Quote from Doorsfan

It's not an actual World first unless it's a 100% or w/e - Seeing as of otherwise you are just technically "leading" - not concretely having a World First.

World first implies you did it before anyone else in the world, overall it doesn't mean you have to do it 100 percent.

If hes the first to have 4k points, its world first. First always means first...
