    The damage of all abilities is calculated by the damage output of your weapon. So if a monk finds a fist weapon and a sword with the same damage, his abilities will do the same amount of damage with either weapon (all other things being equal).

    But you're right, I think it feels awkward using a sword on a monk, because his abilities don't include weapon animations.

    No, the barb can't do that anymore, but he has "Mighty Weapons" which are Barb-specific, huge weapons, that can be either 1-handed or 2-handed.

    I don't see the argument that the monk should use his weapons in his animations. Fists of Thunder, FISTS. Is he suppose to punch with his swords? The monk is holy magic based, think of the weapons as magic catalysts, the better the weapon, the stronger the flow of magic within the monk.

    The wd with a daggar throws a jar of spiders, why doesn't he just throw the daggar?

    The wizard conjures lightning from her/his hands and puts her weapon away to do so, I don't see anyone complaining about that.

    People just stigmatize melee as "using the actual weapon in hand". Monk is just as magic based as melee. His hands conjure lightning and holy power.

    Main problem, Turrets most likely won't stack. Your whole build relays on that fact. Honestly , I haven't thought on what if the turrets stack. Kind of like me assuming the companion won't stack. We shall see.

    Second problem, lack of mobiliy. You don't really have any kind of defensive abilities to allow you to escape danger, there will be some mobs that will be able to get in your face quite quickly, so slowing them before hand wouldn't matter.

    Shadow powers movement speed may help, but if you are facing a waller mob, jailer mob, or a teleporter mob, you won't be able to kite as effective.

    If a fight lasts a very long time, such as a boss fight, your dps will drop a lot once your turrents are gone. And your dps will be much lower when your running around a dungeon with no set up time.Unless Your going to set up turrents every couple of steps, then it won't be the best.

    More or less, this is close to the build i chose early for rocket build. However, it depends on if sentry actually stacks, or if it does, how high the cap is. And I would still of taken vault over shadow power.

    But overall, it's not that bad, it's very interesting and just goes to show the customazation this game actually has within it.
