Not likely, since they're both owned by the same parent company, and have been rolled together in the same subsidiary by that parent company.Quote from CataleptInteresting, though, that Activision made an operating loss this quarter, while Blizzard is still chugging along in the black. Wouldn't surprise me if they cut themselves loose soon... they've got their own distribution channel now, they can't be getting much benefit from the relationship.

I don't care if there are panda sigils. I would care though if they made me buy MoP CE to get D3 wings. It's a relief to hear they're probably not related.
There's stuff in WoW from SC2 that you had to go to Blizzcon for, so...it's just marketing. -

This is just reminding you that there are going to be heaps of people who do struggle with Normal difficulty. Don't assume that everyone is in their mid 20-30s and has played all kinds of games for the last 10-20 years of their life. There will be people who breeze through normal in 30 minutes (maybe?), then people who will literally take weeks. Nothing contradictory there.
There will be people who find Skeleton King challenging. I didn't, but, I played D1 and D2 a LOT, not to mention the last 7 years of MMO raiding. I can move and react, though I'm no twitch FPS player. I think about what skills will work best in a situation etc.
Some people here react to the fact that it's made for people other than themselves by saying "Well, those people need to get better or not play, because I want difficulty set for ME!!" That's not an answer Blizzard is going to listen to. They want to sell the game to everyone, not just *you*, whoever you and your friends are. It just varies how far into the game you'll go before finding it difficult. Some in Normal, some in Inferno, lots in between somewhere.
Also, some don't find 'horribly difficult' fun, and may play for years in Normal. I know people who almost never left Normal in D2. They found it fun. You might not, but that's ok. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Yeah, Arse_Chicken hates it when the truth hurts.

Also, if you're looking vs D2, you should only count through Act 4, as Act 5 was added in an expansion.

You mind explaining your conspiracy theory here, while I get the popcorn?

You mean (gasp) you might have to play the game? Shocking. I'm sure you can find some way to leech off others to get to 60 w/o working at it at all. People like you always do.

And someone willing to get 85% gold, rather than 70% cash can make some good gold on AH if they want when the RMAH hits. I'm not that worried about making cash from a hobby. I have an actual job and an actual life to live, so I can't farm items for cash all the time, nor is that kind of play fun for me. (I don't mind farming items for my toons to use, but farming for cash, competing against companies set up to do so? No thanks. That makes a game like work.)

I was talking about the AH only. Those same rules fit both. Read things, rather than assume stuff that isn't there.
Edit: For the record, I'm glad D3 <> WoW. However, the Auction Houses in the two games work similarly in many ways, so things do cross over about them in this case. Also, don't assume that anyone who mentions WoW is some 13 year old kid. I'm 42, discovered D1 when I was 29, played D2 and LOD a lot, fresh out of the box on release day for both, and I have three kids older than 13 myself. I'm pretty much played out on WoW after seven years, but I'm not going to get into the 'Blizzard ruined it' either. I play another MMO (not Star Wars) when I'm not playing D3 or other games.

That wasn't personally directed at anyone. I've posted those rules about the WoW AH to various people before, too, and they apply to D3, too. People do whine, but I wasn't directing that at you. Sorry if it seemed that way.

1) If it's priced too high, it won't sell. They'll get it back in 48 hours. If it sells, it's not overpriced
2) If you don't like the lowest price, farm it up yourself. Don't bitch how someone else prices it. See rule 1.
3) No one has a divine right to not be undercut, and/or make X amount of profit. If you don't like someone who prices stuff lower than you, you are always free to buy up their stock, and raise the price on it, assuming the risk yourself. If you don't want to do that, don't whine.

I'd rather they do it way early than middle of the day.

Blizzard is supposed to do your personal security, too? Um, no.
(I really hate this attitude that Blizzard is supposed to protect you from yourself. They do, to some extent, with the authenticator system, but that's more than enough. )

That's exactly what I'm seeing. When someone else chain-died their way through the quest lines, then resurrected their way to team boss kills, TOO EASY!!
But now that people are in inferno themselves, and can't faceroll it using their Normal build, it's TOO HARD.
Make up your damned minds.

Making it public, however, I call a good thing.
Definitely not unhappy at the OP.

As usual when 'bad design' or 'poor implementation' is cited, that's what's really at stake. It just wasn't designed or implemented *his way*.
Inferno and the loot system are working as intended. This isn't WoW.

Yeah, there's a lot of assumptions here, and the OP is blaming stuff on the game, when in fact, he's doing it wrong.
Ergo, 'bad design' is not true.
