posted a message on Why Diablo 4 demo is not getting the “dark” feel of Diablo 1 and 2
    Quote from Fearxhorizon»

To me the diablo 3 gameplay and the feels of the atmpshere kills me. im not even exited to diablo 4 until they fix their engine for a proper dark diablo game. they need to reset their game visual wise and ingame depht as well the demo lacked complicated runewords ( Not that complicated but actually just that u can missplay and fuck up ur item if u dont place them correctly) Basically i just want a real sucessor of diablo 2 not another D3 with darker graphics that its not even scary still. or hard to play. diablo was never an easy game before diablo 3 came out and ruined everything blizzard needs to stay to the roots of the base of the foundation of the game u can't just make the game super easy mode out of nowhere when the game has always been Normal - Difficult with time the game gets harder and harder but with d3 u just feel unstoppable during ur entire playthrought and its really not fun to play

Not sure why people keep saying this about D3. D3 was only “easy mode” if you purposefully made it easy. They allowed you to adjust the difficulty to whatever you wanted from the start. If it felt too easy? Immediately switch to Hell difficulty or higher to make it more challenging. Except this isn’t what most people did. Most people kept it easy or just barley hard enough to find good gear and then slowly ramped up difficulty so it never felt “hard”. But that was their choice.

You’re talking about the game forcing you into it being challenging from the beginning, without choice. Like D2 did. The Problem is Blizzard wants to cater to a larger audience, so they have to make at least an optional “easy mode” for that crowd from the start. If you like the game to be harder, just ramp up the difficulty in settings. *thumbs up*

First of, they said it is releasing for ps4 and Xbox one (probably will be out on next generation consoles, but they did not say that).

Second, they have not said anything about crossplay, pretty sure they said it is on their wish list or something like that, but as of now, it is not a supported feature in d4.

I will be on pc aswell, never got into console gaming.

If D4 is releasing a year or more AFTER the new consoles come out, there’s a 200% chance it’s being released on them. And consoles are... computers... just with a very simple operating system, it would be incredibly easy to cross-play between any PC and any console, which they said they want to do. Not sure why you even mentioned these things lol. But go team PC!

    PC.

Consoles are fun if you wanna co-op or something, but I am a solo player.

So then I take it you aren’t a fan of the new “Open World” feature?

    PC.

For me , consoles are a mystery and can't grasp their usefulness. Just like mobile games.

I’ve always felt this way. Consoles are literally just computers that you can only use one interface and play 1 type of game on. All the same parts.

posted a message on Which system will you play D4 on?

Blizzard said they designed D4 “with consoles in mind from the start” and that they are releasing D4 on the new PS5 and the Xbox Scarlett with the PC launch. You’ll also be able to cross-play so you and your friends don’t have to even play on the same system. This could also mean the gameplay might be tailored to a more controller-esque experience VS keyboard and mouse.

Personally, I still prefer the keyboard and mouse feeling VS the controller so I’ll be sticking with my computer. How about you?

I'm running a i7 4790k with a gtx 970 atm, so yeah, I think I will have upgraded before the end of time when d4 releases :-D

Hardy har har. We’re getting it by 2021 Dropz! Mark my words! Also I doubt you’ll even need to upgrade for it, 980 is good. I bought a cheap pre-built for $500 on Black Friday. Has an I3-9100 and GTX 1060. I mean if we even need to upgrade it won’t be by much. And In 2 years the 1070s and 80s will probably be real cheap.

I think minimum requirements of a Gen9 Intel processor is way over to the top. Don't even think it will be a Gen9 processor for the recommended specs.

Gpu wise I think you are over the top aswell, blizzard is very good at making games that run good on potato powered pc's.

Ya exactly. None of blizzards games are that graphic intensive. Even when they first come out. Personally I’ll be playing D4 on a 60in TV on ultra settings so I’ll want a decent video card, but I still don’t think I’ll need anything that crazy.

Do you think you’ll buy a new Comp before it comes out? Or what you got now will be enough?

That's my guess too. Shadowlands 2020, overwatch 2 2021, D4 2022 - the three biggest franchises in active development with a 3 year release pipeline makes investors happy.

Nah, it’ll be shadowlands - D4 - then Overwatch 2. They said at blizzcon that overwatch 2 was “still early in development”, whereas D4 had a demo and tons of content to release. Not to mention anything they have in-house that they weren’t ready to showcase. I also don’t see a big deal of releasing both in the same year being 5-6 months apart.

Those seem reasonable like reasonable guesses. I know it will not have any impact on guessing the requirements and some of this is overkill for max settings, but just for the record the demo PCs were running 9900k and rtx 2080s with 32 gb ram.

Really? That’s crazy excessive lol. But nice to know, thanks man!

posted a message on Diablo 4 system requirements?

Does anyone have an educated guess as to what the system specs for Diablo 4 will be? I found this list online but it doesn’t say what it’s based on. I also think this list seems excessive for a diablo game. D3 requires very little to run at 60+ FPS on ultra. Only a GTX 260. I know it’s almost 10 years later but the graphics I saw didn’t seem too crazy of an improvement so I don’t see D4 needing this type of power:

    Predicted Minimum Requirements,

    • OS: Win 10 64
    • Processor: Intel Core i3-9100 4-Core 3.6GHz / AMD Ryzen 3 2300X 4-Core 3.5GHz
    • Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 380X or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB
    • System Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Storage: 55 GB Hard drive space
    • DirectX 11 Compatible Graphics Card

    Predicted Recommended Requirements,

    • OS: Win 10 64
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-9500 6-Core 3.0GHz / AMD Ryzen 5 2500X 4-Core 3.6GHz
    • Graphics: AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 8GB or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
    • System Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Storage: 55 GB Hard drive space

Again this isn’t my list, I personally think you could have a much slower CPU and only like a regular GTX 1050 Or lower to play D4 on max settings.

heres a comparison of the official required GPU for D3 compared to a GTX 1050 -

You're really clinging to them saying they don't want to repeat D3's release, but it seems you're forgetting Diablo 3 originally began in 2000. It took them 12 years and a complete revamp / start over to make Diablo 3.

D4 won't take 12 years, but you're likelier to have a golden comet smash in your backyard then get a D4 release in two years. What we saw was barely fit to be called pre alpha.

Blizzard said they didn’t want D4 to take as long as D3 from its official announcement-to-release, not from original planning to release. It was only 4 years. Announced in June 2008 and released in May 2012. So we can know blizz wants to take ‘a lot’ less than that. So a good guess would be around 2-ish years. And the super accurate “leak list” on Reddit also puts the release date as end of 2021. So we know blizz hopes to. As do I. So I’d rather stick with the assumption there won’t be any massive screw ups and it comes out on time. *awaits golden comet*. >_<

Blizzard offers Lilith Statue with a deliverydate of 30.8.2020 :o

so we can hope for a near releasedate of the game itself?? :)

    Highly doubt it.

    Normal "Soon": within a week.

    "Blizzard Soon": Around 4 years.

"Not even Blizzard Soon": 4+ years.

If only they said something about not taking as long for D4’s release as they did to release D3.... oh wait... rofl. 2 years kids.

D4 is quite literally years away. At least three is my guess, closer to 4 most likely. What we saw is pre alpha. 2020's blizzcon most likely will show us at least 1 of the remaining classes to be announced, probably both. 2021 Blizzcon will either show the 2nd, or just the rest of the systems they decided on. Might get some beta news after, and if we're lucky a launch sometime late in 2022. 4

Well first of all, 2022 is only 3 years away, not 4. It’s the end of 2019... lol. And second, considering blizz specifically said they don’t want it to be like D3’s development, Which was released 4 years after its announcement, only because it had major development issues. Best guess is D4 will go into closed beta sometime in 2021 and if all goes well, be released end of that year.

From what I've seen so far, I got the impression from the Devs that you won't run into random people while roaming except for towns and group events. I could be wrong.

The impression I got was that you will encounter other players, but they can't influence you. The demo seemed to echo this as well. But I don't know if them not being able to influence you doesn't mean they can't influence your mobs (which to me is directly influencing the player). I know one of the devs mentioned a player cap for certain areas (the whole open zone) and that it isn't exactly a small cap (40 ish) in Diablo terms.

This is exactly what I’m afraid of. Them messing with your mobs/kills/loot. Which is 90% of playing diablo. And even if the cap is 40, even one player can move super fast across the map, no matter how big they say it is, and now that they’ve added ‘mounts’ players can get around even faster. Meaning you will run into random players a good amount at least, if not constantly. Especially with the numbers D4 will take in on release. OP players will zoom around killing random players mobs out of boredom. I guarantee that.

posted a message on Reason for Disliking of Open World

The main reason why I’m skeptical about open world is because of WoW and the many problems that came with playing on crowded servers. Campers, kill stealers, ques, people in the best gear roaming around killing people out of boredom. Ect. If the only place you run into other players are the ‘towns’ and you won’t constantly bump into others, then it should be just fine. But that doesn’t seem like an “open world” to me and the name should be changed to avoid confusion.

posted a message on D4 is just D3 reskinned. Cmon.

    Magistrate,

have you seen any online gameplay videos that portray D4 graphics as you’ve claimed them to be? Because out of all the videos I’ve seen, even of “high res” gameplay, doesn’t seem very impressive and makes the graphics look barley better than D3. Let alone a “night and day” improvement. If you look at the YouTube comments on the gameplay there’s also lots of others saying “D3 reskinned”, which is why I made this thread. The themes and lighting are clearly ‘darker’ and it’s a bit sharper, but it doesn’t appear to be a big leap.
