I'll start to expect a release date the moment I see the rune system fixed and explained.

public chat channels are a nightmare....
Full of
bots
goldsellers
spammers
scammers
and other scum after your money and items.
I wonder how Blizzard will moderate if people try to use the channels to sell items for gold (remember gold = cash due to being able to sell it for real money) or real money and bypass the AH. Granted the trust issue pops up again, but people were obviously willing for d2jsp. -
Feb 9, 2012Benegesserit posted a message on Public Chat Is In, Diablo 3 Map, Investor Call, Poll Recap, DiabolesquesHappy about chat, sad about maps. D2 has been very popular for over 10 years...so why exactly did they think players disliked the map and move idea? I know some players played w/o it always up and other did. I'm willing to be 99.99% of players who were trying to efficiently grind late game for items cared about missing the details of the environment they've already seen dozens upon dozens of times.Posted in: News

Feb 8, 2012Benegesserit posted a message on Bashiok Answers Questions, Known Achievement IssuesPosted in: Newsdo you guys make jokes about "soon" internally as much as the community does or is it a taboo topic at blizzard.
It's not taboo, but kind of old so not really funny either.
Yeah well the community is tired of hearing "Soon" as well. -

I guess that just goes to show you how disconnected bigger gaming websites are to the actual gaming community. They didn't even have D3 on their radar.
I guess GT just thinks the only people playing games are the console kiddies. I guess that's why I never felt a draw to go to sites like IGN and GT.
Actually I agree with GT not putting it on. The list should only be for games actually coming out that year. -

I'm sure they'll spin it in a way that says they're late because they were so busy working on the game.
IMO celebrate when the game is actually out. -

Jan 26, 2012Benegesserit posted a message on New Information , Hardcore, Option Tooltips, Clock, End of Beta Contest, 5000 bugs, Error 3022Totally cool with these changes. The reforging thing was dumb because I didn't like items getting permanently punished with low durability because it took X rerolls to get perfect stats. The companion was also wrong for the exact reasons Blizzard covered...you needed to always have one up (never mind that there wasn't even a buff to track the tiny little thing's duration), and many of them were not fit for the theme. Naturally the added bonus of getting this thing out by cutting superfluous mechanics is the icing on the cake.Posted in: News

ugh
But WoW is a much bigger game, but not as randomized as Diablo, meaning, more possible bugs in Diablo than WoW.
No. Each type of random event is a single algorithm. WoW easily would have more bugs than Diablo after a first pass (assuming same coding and developer competency). -
Jan 19, 2012Benegesserit posted a message on System ChangesPosted in: NewsNo one will remember if the game is late, only if it's great.
Horseshit. I remember every game, good or bad, that came out obnoxiously late. I won't ever forget their gross tardiness. -

i'll be tempted to buy a fun powerful legendary than a boring slightly more powerful rare...since that won't happen until 1.1 (or later) I'm sure I won't even be toggling my currency until then

the scales were heavily in favor of solo prior to this
also in nearly all other ARPGS more players meant more loot...this is the only game where you get the same loot chances, number of mobs, and loot quantity.
You're still going to need a coordinated group to be faster than solo.

Blizzard hasn't said anything but if you can manage to be heard over the legions of frothing morons maybe we'll get this nice little improvement by 1.1.

no, the itemization and diversity of builds was fun...not necessarily the methods in which to get said items...Blizzard has improved on the methods to gain (and continuing to improve in 1.0.3). It's the itemization itself (and build diversity for Inferno) that is currently worse than D2.

NOT both.
This two-pronged approach is going to be overkill. The whole reason ActII and up is insanely OP is because you currently CAN'T get the gear you need in Act I to reasonably progress in Act II. With the item drop change we'd be able to do that w/o you needing to nerf anything in Inferno. Conversely (but not as fun imo) would be to simply nerf Act II and up and leave drop rates where they are.
The problem is that they are responding with every reasonable solution to the same problem instead of just focusing on one at a time and see how well that works in the wild (not their insanely limited internal pool of players).

right because skill gets you out of jailer teleport mobs one shotting you
