Quick question I apologize if it has been asked before but didn't blizz state at some point that at moment Inferno is about MP lv3-4? If so would it mean that you could start act 3 and drop it to MPlv1 and have easier time farming or what? I am confused because if they make All monsters at MPlv1 ilv63 but they will still be weaker compared to live would that not make more people farm act 1?
I think current Act 3 difficulty is actually more similar to MP 2-3, not MP 3-4, but you're basically correct.
Act 3 with MP 1 will be (a) easier, and (b) more rewarding that Act 3 in 1.0.4. This is known. This is a conscious decision of Blizzard's part.
Act 1 with any given MP should be roughly the same difficulty as Act 3 with the same MP, and will offer the same level of reward. Some have speculated that it will actually be easier due to Act 1 having fewer monsters with inherently annoying powers. On the other hand, some have speculated that Act 3 will be more rewarding due to having more elites close together. Ultimately I think the difficulty and reward should be similar enough to achieve Blizzard's goal, which is to let people choose where they want to play and get themselves some variety. -

Being a moderator has nothing to do with having in-game knowledge of the mechanics. It has to do with keeping the forums a nice place to discuss things and infracting people like you who waste time poking others into flame wars.Quote from waTiem
How can you be a moderator and continually post this idiotic disinformation?
I'm not sure what streams you've been watching. Maybe too much WW Barb or Wiz (with low proc rates) I saw a Monk proccing it solidly at least 1/sec or every 2 seconds. Oh noes IT'S RANDOM! Guess what, people with high end gear are attacking 2-3 times/sec and classes like Monks have decent proc ratios on their basic attacks. The ring does not proc once per second, it procs once every ten seconds (or so)
Congratz on reaching Paragon lvl 100. Might wanna spend your time playing or doing something else on your life instead of complaining about how the game doesn't have enough content for people who plays 1.5k hours on the first couple months. This whole "hardcore gamer" attitude and e-peening is a fucking cancer to every game's community, and is specially bad on WoW and D3. If people wanna show off how good they are as gamers, why don't they just play a competitive game (SC2, CS, DotA) where they can actually do it, instead of bitching on mostly coop/single-player experience games. And to top it all off it's only 5 stats instead of 6 because of the exp bounus so I'm sure the guys that are scrambling to be in the first 1000 to get to paragon 100 will use it instead of Leorics, but the rest of us will wait 2 weeks and buy something better off the AH for some gold.
People were excited for an item that can do 3 million dmg in a proc? It goes to show how clueless players are regarding game balance and design. Thanks, I'll stick to the developers who actually have experience and put some thought into what they say/decide, instead of the knee jerking reaction of a vocal minority. And that's the point. People were excited about it, I was, the streamers were, everyone and the only way to get it was to do the new content.
The point of the ring in the first place to me was the exp boost, not a proc which will override the dps of 90% of the players. It feels better to work for my own Leoric's instead of thinking I'll never be able to amass 80-150 million gold for one (which I have, but I'm still not buying it). I can't wait to have some of these to lvl up my characters, and chasing a good rolled ring is still going to be exciting to me. Don't talk as if you were representing the whole playerbase, because I'm 100% postive you aren't.But now it's just a huge letdown. Let me put it to you another way. Who farms ACT IV? No one. Why? It's not worth it -- same goes for this. Why create new content that no one is excited about? I don't get it. -

Thought I would do so testing on the PTR to see what the HP scaling was like for Ghom and Diablo along with other bosses on Inferno to be added at a later date. I also took the amount from Live (1.0.4) for an easier Reference. Feel Free to add more Bosses to this thread.
Please Note this was based on one player! and you should add 70% to the totals for each additional player that joins the game (Max 210% for a full party)

Zero(pS) posted a message on Patch 1.0.5 what a jokeWait, what?Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
So the top notch geared players with insanely good stats (did you see that DH's equipment? 0 offensive passives and 110k unbuffed DPS, 110% defensive actives/passives) and some of the best gear available in the game (full IK's, perfectly rolled Manticore, good rolled Legacy Nats, 200+ mil Vile Wards) can actually kill enemies/elites in MP10?
THAT'S OUTRAGEOUS. I mean, com'on, don't we all have 500 mil+ worth in gear and BiS items on all our slots? It's pretty obvious by now that 95%+ of the playerbase has that, right?
And there's more? MP10 is actually a challenge even to those guys? You mean that DH got the easiest pack ever (not a single powerful dmging affix like desecrator/firechains/molten) and yet he couldn't have screwed his resource management and timing once in a 2 minute battle? WTF, that's insane. How could Blizzard have screwed up so badly? Worst patch ever, right?
No offense, but are you just jealous of their gear and mad that some people are already prepared to do it?
I'm with you on Monks having a hard time, but honestly ranting about a patch that isn't even live yet, and most important about something that won't affect 99,99% of the playerbase is the joke... and a very bad one. -

Tsukishima posted a message on Jay Wilson vs David BrevikD3 is a great game and was let down solely from a QA perspective. The balance team dropped the ball, IT team was substandard and general QA was missed swarms of bugs.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
These are problems that can be solved through patches and hotfixes but take time. It is truly disappointing how poorly it was launched but it is salvagable and will only get better with every patch. I honestly cannot think of any other title in a similar genre that can claim to be better. Balance will be improved, bugs will be stamped out and a lot of the frustration experienced will slowly be drained out. 1.04 improves things a lot, future patches should do even more.
Financially, facts speak for themselves, the game was a financial success. The poor launch will could see some disciplinary action to those responsible but the many problems in D3 will fade in time as the polish starts to get applied in consecutive patches. -

agadabagada posted a message on 1.0.4: The end of Critical Mass?well. I feel this guy is kinda getting singled out here (which he isnt helping his own cause), but id like to support his opinion.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
I myself am a wwspeced barb. I do think its overpowered and does deserve a nerf /cry. Anyways, to the point.
This guy seems to be pushing the fact that blizzard is nerfing cmww due to its high proc rate with legendaries. The current proc rate is .25 which is getting halved in 1.04. I think thats a little much of a nerf but ive yet to use it so, we shall see. This guy, however, pushes the fact that a cmww can have 1-8 tornados going at once? well, lets do some basic numbers here with my current knowledge set on ww barbs because i am not comfortable enough with the mechanics of cm"ww".
So, some forum poster did a huge theory crafting session on runlikethewind and posted his numbers. he found that it is possible to have 1 tornado from sprint proc 30 times with enough ias. Im expecting the average person is more along the lines of 15-20 (which is where im at). So, that is giving you 5 procs a second lets say. if u can get 4 tornados on a single mob (lets just deal with a single target for now), that is 20 procs a second. I have a 48% unbuffed crit chance, 61% with buffs (my gear isnt that great either). So, 20x.61=12.2 crits per second x .2 coeficient = 2.44 procs per second. Now, we must take into account that you can get up to 6ish tornados at once, someone could have higher ias easily if they wanted, more mobs, higher crit chance, ect. I run opca which i belive is a good indicator of my proc chances as its a cooldown, and agaisnt 3 mobs, i can cast it every 4 seconds with ease, agaisnt 1 target its harder but enough.
What i think this guy is trying to do is use the logic for the change to the cmww wiz (procs like a mofo) and applying it to the wwspec barb which can proc like a mofo.
I have to add this in even though offtopic a bit. I thought the ww spec was op ezmode until i tried to get 2 buddies to run the spec with my same exact gear and they couldnt pull it off after 5 hours of practice each. they couldnt genorate fury, they couldnt sustain it, they didnt understand the sequences, and would end up just bashing 90% of the time. Also, when i was explaining the build, i thought i was writing a fucking novel haha. It really makes you take into account the amount of things you must process and execute for this build to work. For the cmww spec, ive seen the crappiest players making it work -

We really don't care who has already quit or who is planning to quit. We are here to discuss the game we're still playing because we like it despite the various flaws (most of which, imo, have been or are being addressed). Your friends can come back if they want. It's not like they have to re-subscribe.
Please, please stop shitting up every single thread in this forum with some passive aggressive swipe at blizzard. -

I'll vouch for you too! I remember fairly lively conversations with you and Maka.
Of course I'm the one that will probably be confirmed as the overly optimistic one. Yet even my patience is running thin on some things. Even so I still mange to love the game. I suppose it helps that I play so many other games now as well that I don't get enough time with D3 to get worked up about it.
It's been intersting reading the topic, it certainly improved once it got past the whole Krip/Alk thing. I don't think anyone wants to get me started on my thoughts on Krip, so I'll just keep lurking. :Thumbs Up:

This time I've created a segment I call Diablo Digest which is a podcast style segment where I went over the news of the last two weeks. For anyone who didn't want to read all those blue or news posts on the front page, it's all handed to the viewer in audio format with editorial commentary from your's truely. I think it provides some good discussion points and I'm really looking for feedback from you guys to determine if it's something that would be good to do again in the future or what I could do to improve upon it.
Normally I like to put up a summary write up here on the forums for those who can't view videos while browsing the forums (and it is a froum so written discourse is encouraged) but this one is pretty broad and I'm hoping you guys won't mind watching (listening really, the footage is just filler) and letting me know what you think of it.
Thank you for your time in advance, I'm intersted to see what feedback or discussions get created from this segment.

I'm not sure why there's this current trend to use facecams for videos like this, but it's not one I care for. It's a personal preference so please take that with a grain of salt, however I can tell you that not using it will make it easier to edit your commentary. I usually will make small edits to my recordings to remove flubs or exceptionally bad errors and that can be hard to do if you have yourself recorded on video as the video stutter will show up. When working with only audio you usually can't tell if there's an edit unless the tone is vastly different.
I think one issue I have with the facecam thing is that it's hard to tell if you really have an interest in the subject. there are times when it looks like you're just sitting there reading a script and it gives the appearance that you're bored or unprepared. It can be good to have something written up but you may consider practicing it in your head or in small takes so that you can make it sound more natural. Heck, you can even take your small takes and splice them together if you feel like one take was particularly good.
As far as video content is concerned, you had good information, but I think the reading of it was dry. The best parts of the videos were the times you relaxed and let your own personality show through. Your voice and tone were more natural then and you looked more animated and engaged into the subject at these times.
These are just my thoughts and obviously needn't be taken. The best advice I can give is just keep doing what you like to do and if you enjoy what you do, it will show through. As a fellow YouTuber and Diablofan, I welcome you and wish you the best of luck.

Ladies and gentlemen, an example on how not to give criticism. There is nothing constructive here.
I usually take comments like this and try to decypher what could possible be useful feedback, but I'm not sure I can on this one.
So, let's look at the gear. Most of my gear is found personally. I don't use the AH and the few pieces I've ever bought were all budget items at the time. The gear on this character hasn't been touched in months and it's still in a transition state from my character being a Sword and Board user for a very long time. Aside from spending a bunch of money on the AH, I have to rely on drops and since this character can comfortably farm MP5/6 I feel no need to really run out and do that. I don't really care about farming MP10.
As for Skorn, I have one, but this weapon had better damage potential than the Skorn in my bank IIRC. I also like this weapon for the sanctuary proc as I discussed in the video. There's nothing wrong with that at all and is simply an alternative.
The build is far from worthlesss and is changable according to play style. There are people who don't care for the traditional Whirlwind build and some people really like hitting hard with a large weapon. In this regard the build is a resounding success.
Sounds like an interesting modification. This build was certainly not designed for fast farming. At least, that wasn't my intention. It's good to see that it can be modified if efficency is what you're going for. I think playing to your own personal playstyle is what keeps the game entertaining and being able to modify builds to do that is why I like this skill system.
Personally, I just like the feel of running around and smashing enemies. I guess I'm trying to say that I like slaughtering things and I'm not concerned with how fast I do it. If I was, I'd be using the whirlwind tornado build like most other players as that's been proven to be the fastest.
As a side note to that (and this is by no means directed at you, this is a generalization of the game and it's current playerbase), I guess I'm kind of sad to see the game devolve into what's the fastest way to kill and just repeat that over and over. It's something that Blizzard tried to avoid, but I don't think they ever really could. It's like back in D2 when boss runs were the thing. They were so boring after awhile, I would rather run though a whole act again for the fun of it. This is kind of why I look for different builds that are atypical much like my Sentry Build for the Demon Hunter. I want to have fun with it. If they ever increase the monster density in earlier acts to compare to act 3, I could totally see myself just running through the game again just to massacre hordes of undead and demons.

I thought this douchebaggery was fake, but looking at previous posts it could very well be legit. I don't follow Athene, much like I don't follow Kripparian, I just wasn't really interested and didn't care for the styles. Nothing personal, mind. I had heard there was a lot of posturing but took it with a grain of salt, supposedly both were strong players and knew what they were doing, deserving a little bit of slack for it. After all, people watch it, perhaps it's a method for views.
But when i see something like this and I just have to wonder what the point is. I mean, I really didn't care about all these "beat azmodan in x seconds" threads. With lots of gear it's not really super special, but it does show a marked measurement in what the right conditions of build and gear can do for a class. Okay people are spending a bit too much energy on replicating it, but it's still something.
For someone who supposedly does a lot of research for figuring out effective methods, I would have figured you were a bit smarter in your claim, however. Each player only makes a monster gain 70% of hit's HP.
So if I do my maths right.. we take a creature of 10 mill HP and a player of 100k DPS.
1 player:
10,000,000 HP / 100,000 DPS = 100 seconds for a kill
4 players:
31,000,000 HP / 400,000 DPS (assuming same DPS on all characters) = 77.5 seconds for a kill
Delta = 22.5 seconds. A 22.5% reduction in time needed.
I can see why anyone would dispute your claim that you're making it harder on yourself. In fact, without hard evidence to the contrary you actually made it easier on yourself. Honestly, while I'm not doubting you could do it faster based on your record, you should probably consider using facts to back up your claims rather than just banging your chest on a forum.. Y'know.. just sayin'. (not that I think he'll even check back here based on his previous post history)
To be honest, I agree with the following:

Just look around, search diablofans or youtube. you'll find all sorts of information there. Information that is constantly updated and best of all FREE.
