If the July 27 event is going to give media sites first access to the beta and all of the new systems in the beta. And they said they'll release the beta once they have released the systems. Doesn't that stand to reckon that the Beta will be done by July 27 and probably released soon after?
Although "soon" for Blizzard is just relative

Not mentioned and they are pretty important even if we may have a tentative answer:

    When is beta coming?

    When will D3 be released?

I would also like to know how they plan to remove runestones from the game? (since they don't get destroyed by removal from a skill)

The "So Diablo is becoming WoW" is the greatest compliment any game could ever accomplish.

False, that statement is an insult, WoW made mmorpg popular, thats it. Even before WoW, people played mmorpg games that just didn't get the same spotlight as WoW, Asian countries literally had an Orcs vs. Humans sort of game long before WoW was ever made. WoW is just an overhyped standard mmorpg.

Now the statement "Diablo 3 is becoming a much improved and flawless Diablo 2" is a compliment. who said that?

Lol Cain is nearly dead...why would diablo use his body? His body is worse off than Leorics son he used as a host in the first game... Cain being evil is just as bad as the idea of Tyrael being evil.....

The other rumors make much more sense. Imperius would make more sense as a bad guy then Cain would...

I already told you why Cain is so valuable- pure and simply its his knowledge (apparently you have none otherwise youd know this from my previous post), we dont know what knowledge Diablo would have been seeking in Cain but it probably has something to do with Diablo's "master plan" the devs told us about. And since when was age a factor in this game let alone any fantasy game LMAO!!!!

And the rumors about Imperius are all based off of books and other rumors, Not D2 itself. They make some sense if D3 was being written after the books, but guess what? Its not, D3 is written based on D2 and D1 with some book elements thrown in.

I am basing the Cain rumor off of what we know from the games. Let me try to put it a little more simply for you: The Devs Said "the storyline in D3 will make the player realize everything that happened in D2 went according to Diablo's master plan" (Now was Imperius even in D2? NO) So if not Imperius, who had the most influence on what the heroes did throughout D2? Cain did. Thus more than likely, either Cain is actually an evil backstabber (Think Sauromon) or Cain has been listening to someone who is an evil backstabber.

I googled this suspiscion and of course im not the only one that thinks this, Other possibilities: Cain just wants his own power, Cain is actually possessed by Belial, Cain is possessed by Diablo.

    Sorry bub, try again.

My guess is that re-specing will be ideal for characters just starting out (in case a noob makes some small mistake and would like to correct it instead of taking 5 minutes to delete and re-make his character) and will also be used by very very very rich players. I wouldn't worry about it being overused because your right that would get real annoying

Dont know if i would rule out demon hunter,,, dont forget she can throw traps and what not as well i think,

There's potential left to be had in the remaining skill tiers for sure. But based on what we can see, the other classes have more non-weapons based skills that are helpful. Only time will tell.

When you start saying "lets take out weapons, and armor, and remove combat skills from combat classes" it starts to sound like "lets take out some of the fun in the game and see if we can't make it more fun." Personally I think trying this ironman thing in D3 will be taking away from a lot of the positive aspects of the game and make it a lot less fun.
But then again thats just me, TO each his own right? :)

Its not that stupid, the pre-cursor parts are definitely all there (see below), unlike a lot of other speculations which are based seemingly off of books and rumors.

OK guys plz keep it easy. I think the idea is plausable but I would hope for a more compelling story for d3.

So as far as the return of the prime evils. I dont think that the diablo we have seen is a diablo baal mafisto combo. The reason I think this is the character of each of the prime evils are very different and mafisto is the eldest of the 3. i dont think that he would be deminished to a mouth on his sholder. Now if one arm was all full of horn and muscle(Baal) and the other arm was like slime and what ever(mafisto) then i would get it. I just dont see enough of baal and mafisto in the d3 we have seen to justify that they are apart of it. I think that the Big Bad Deamon we saw in the trailer was just diablo.

I still cant wrap my head around how he came back though(assuming its just diablo) if he cralled back out of the void or what... Can anyone help me out??

Your question comes down to who could possibly have enough knowledge of the abyss or at least know where to look. Again the answer seems to be Cain, the most knowledgeable character in Diablo. All of the other horadrim are dead, Tyrael is supposedly being punished and probably wouldn't help Diablo. And its not like evil Diablo Doesn't have the power to posses Cain. Approaching it logically: Diablo has opportunity, motive, and means.

Opportunity- When Tristan gets overrun with demons, guess what Cain is the only one not harmed (how is this fact not clawing at the back of your mind, everyone at one point Must have wondered, even briefly, Why Cain was really just left there)
Motive- To posses/gain knowledge of something something (maybe abyss, maybe how to turn into a 3 headed dragon devil), probably won't know exactly until D3
Means- Diablo is generally pretty good at making people evil, Mephisto corrupted a whole council, Baal consumed Tal Rasha, Diablo corrupted the hero from D1

Cain is looking mighty ripe like a fresh red plum. Hes the last person anyone would expect yet one of the most critical pieces of the Diablo story.
Plus, if I remember correctly didn't a dev say something like Cain will no longer be the one identifying items, instead it would be like an artisan or something. Why remove the cliche Cain service? Unless...

No the Dark Wanderer is the Hero from D1 with robes, all Im saying is that Diablo likes his hooded robes, and Cain's got a pretty nice set on him

scratch my previous post, how bout this: The devs said D3 is storylined in a way that makes it seem like everything has gone according to Diablo's plan.
Then it occurred to me... Diablo has been with the heroes this whole time!

    DIABLO IS CAIN!

Rather Deckard of Cain is possessed by Diablo. No one knows it of course because who would suspect little old Cain.

Ill let you piece together how this could be, but here are some things to make you think about Cain, Hes the ONLY one left alive in Tristam? Cain with all of his knowledge, theres no way Diablo just leaves him there coincidentally for the heroes to find. Why is it Cain's follower and not Cain that gets the vision in D3? Why did Cain want to go back to Tristam in the first place? What do you think Cain looks like with his hood up and without his stick? THE DARK WANDERER

Im about as certain of this as I am that following Diablo 3 news till the day it comes out is perfectly healthy.

I still think Imperius doesn't get his way with destroying humanity and all, and so he goes to sanctuary to ressurect the evils. D3- you fight the new and improved Diablo (possibly a combination of diablo, baal, and mephisto). And then in D3 expansion you fight Imperius as he turns into some sort of demonic angel.

    Quote from CherubDown

    Quote from youwillneverknow

Ive said this before but ill state it again, this game definitley resembles more of Guild Wars than anything else; here I see it again. Expect Disease to be sort of damage over time but it spreads between allies if they come in close proximity, poison is regular damage over time. Holy is likely slightly armor ignoring but does extra damage to demons or some class of creatures, arcane is likely armor ignoring (as in just the stated damage - resistance).

You're really saying this game resembles Guild Wars? Ummm... no.

Good counter argument, you got me, you won, lol.

Let me be clear, The new D3 additions resembles systems in Guild Wars a lot more than it resembles systems in WoW or any other rpg. the most obvious one is Fury ----> exactly like adrenaline. Damage types as you can see are pretty much mirror images too. And the new basis in D3 on skills and builds, well thats just exactly what GW is all about. Now im not saying D3 will play the same as GW, and it definitely wont LOOK the same (which is what im assuming you thought i meant). In fact I expect it will be entirely different because of less emphasis on pvp and more attention to gear. Just saying some of the SYSTEMS are strikingly similar.

This i guess could be seen as just my opinion though.

    Quote from ScyberDragon

Just to clarify, actual damage types are:
    Fire
    Lightning
    Cold
    Poison
    Disease
    Arcane
    Holy

    However, resistances are:
    Fire
    Lightning
    Cold
    Poison (will also include disease)
    Arcane (will also include holy)

As for any shadow skills for the DH, it was said that her skill sets are more lore/appearance inspired by shadow/demon powers and not actual gameplay damage types so all of her skills will still fit in with the previously mentioned damage types.

As forthe difference between poison and disease. Poison will be damage based while disease will focus around debuff effects.

Ive said this before but ill state it again, this game definitley resembles more of Guild Wars than anything else; here I see it again. There can be a reward without a fee.

yeh thats what I was thinking, its just a fun experience and at the end your team wins something based on how long you lasted. So say your team only lasted 3 minutes every one gets like 100 gold or an item of equivalent value. But if it were to be done with two teams then the winning team would get the prize. ALl in all this is just wishful thinking

So... hack and slash tower defense meets Left 4 Dead survival mode?

Lol. No offense, but no matter how good an idea is, they're not gonna stop and implement it right now.

It could be fun, but I don't see it getting implemented, at least not right now. First of all, you suggest that the game could potentially be endless, so what happens then? How do you determine the appropriateness of a reward if you can't positively guarantee how long people might last.

Also you suggest that only the last player standing gets a prize? That seems a little silly, and would cause a lot of backstabbing, or perhaps even worse, win trading (A la WoW arena) so everyone gets a prize. If these prizes were purely cosmetic then that might be fine, except people would be disinclined to care at that point (myself included), and if they were actually as good as running/farming real bosses, then people would do their utmost to exploit the system, or as I mentioned earlier, screw each other over.

It sounds fun, but I can't see Blizzard really being interested in what boils down to a time attack mode in one of their games. They might possibly be interested in implementing that mode as just a fun "custom game" type of escapist gaming outlet. But even that, to me seems unlikely.

Besides, I'd say with their combined experience with Diablo II and WoW, we're going to see a lot more challenging, mechanics based moments in Diablo III, that in all likelihood will be suggestive of what you're describing anyway. They've got it covered.

Im just throwing this idea out there cause I thought itd be interesting. I understand Bliz probably won't even read this let alone implement it. But, yeh sort of like left 4 dead mix with Diablo, I was thinking that after just 5 rounds the bosses and hordes that come out get insanely hard so that a team would have to be exceptionally good to improve their time.

    Quote from Ophion

Blizzard devs only read the official battle.net forum (officially I think that's the case) so don't worry about posting ideas here :P

I like the idea, and I think that letting the round end both when all enemies die or after a certain time makes the most sense. Otherwise it would be really boring to wait for the timer to count down.

One problem is that in your idea everyone fights together which won't work very well if it is supposed to be competitive. They wouldn't fight as teammates and would instead end up trying to get the others killed as soon as possible. I think a better solution would be to have two teams of 4 trying to outlast each other, or other variations of X teams of Y players. One change that could be made if there are multiple teams is to make the next round spawn for both teams when the previous is finished, so one team will put more pressure on their opponents by finishing their rounds quicker. Having teams would also make the team setup more important, and there won't end up being a specific build that is best for that game mode.

And reward losing players as well based on how far they get, otherwise there would be no incentive to play unless you know you are awesome at it.

I was thinking competitive as in: Competing with the rest of battle.net to get the best time. Hopefully blizzard has plans for something greater, or who knows maybe they already have something like this and just haven't told us...

Im hesitant to suggest this because Im afraid devs get ideas and hold the game back even longer :(.
I was thinking it would be cool to have a sort of "survival Diablo" thing. It could be especially fun for people that dont like pvp but still like a challenge in a competitive game. This could also be great as an endgame special in addition to arenas. I was thinking it would work like this:

    - 4 players placed in a medium sized dungeon, with a "portal" in the middle,
    - The game is split into rounds. Each round, either a horde of monsters with a small boss come out of the portal and attack the players OR a "special" boss comes from the portal and attacks the players.
    - a round ends on a time interval (say like 30 seconds) at which point the next round and next wave of monsters immediately begin (so you could be fighting like 2 or more waves at once).
    - every progressive round gets increasingly harder: more monsters and harder bosses
    - the game doesn't end until only 1 player is left (or all players have died) at which point last standing player wins a prize and the amount of time the team reached gets posted on Battle.net
    - Think of it sort of like the Baal throne room, only its actually hard and it doesn't end till everyone dies

SO you could have one of these 'dungeons' for each difficulty and a ladder showing which players have the top times. The competitive part is just trying to reach the highest round and outlast the rest of your teammates. Should work well especially with health globes instead of potions. So what do you'all think?

EDIT: changed the rounds ending when all monsters die to a time interval. This would make it exponentially harder if the team tries to use passive tactics.
