posted a message on Incentive For Full Clear Loot Runs
    Quote from Ardikus

As most of us already know, one of the main reasons for Inferno difficulty to be equally scaled in level and difficulty across all acts is to provide players incentive to play through all stages of the game to achieve loot. In Diablo 2, there were obvious ways that were more efficient to get good loot, namely Mephisto, Pindleskin, and Baal runs. It's not too far fetched to think that bosses are going to drop the best loot in the game, no matter what, because they're the hardest things to kill. Risk should equal reward, right? If this is the case, and once I get the waypoints to all good bosses in Inferno mode, why should I even bother playing through the other dungeons and areas in the game?

Two words: Loot Goblins (Loot Bandits?). I've noticed in a few streams and videos that these little buggers appear inside dungeons in what is a seemingly random fashion. Once you start hitting them, they spew gold all over the floor, and if you manage to kill it before it runs away (not very hard to do, at least in normal difficulty it seems) it will drop quite a lot of useful loot. In the few times I saw these things go down, they dropped ~2 blue items, page of training, scroll of companion, and a few other white items.

What's up to speculation is if these things have the potential to drop the best loot in Inferno difficulty, like bosses can. If they can drop rare items, that is at least salvageable loot for crafting materials, which I'm sure you're going to want a lot of.

The goblin or w/e it's name is already in the game so it will randomly spawn through out the game (thus encourage you to hunt every corner of the map) and this comes with the rare and unique bosses.

The runs are inevitable and people will discover what monster drops what often than the others. Discovering these stuff is part of diablo's game play.

edit: deleted my first sentence, after noticing the thread topic name.

posted a message on What WoW weapons/armor would you like to see in Diablo 3?
Well if you guys have more ideas other than WoW items that you like to be added in game, I made a thread a while back before the series of leaks came out that buried my thread. Anyways, here's the link.

The first and last 2 pictures don't show up. Barb model I'd definitely like. The two swords from D2 - of course. The one you said you'd like a smaller pommel needs a much larger blade to be a true Diablo sword.
My person option would just be _very_ big weapons. Well, not WoW big, but still with an impressive size.

Thanks, I made this thread just before the overload of leaks so since I know it's going to be buried within seconds, I didn't bother updating it till it's quiet again. Anyway, I fixed the link for the first, going to update 2nd to last when I see a working link and removed the last one.

Okay so far the game has a few bugs here and there, mostly involving online seems like servers weren't prepared to handle it. Anyways great game.

If you like the Diablo style of weapons you will probably enjoy this. The smashing and dicing up of zombies never gets old, the quests are fun, the weapon modifications are pretty awesome. Even upgrading weapons changes appearance, as well as needing to be repaired. My wood baton for instance was almost in splinters.

The story is not in your face, but it has a lot of depth if you look for it. The skill trees are a lot more varied than I originally thought. If you like to kill zombies I definitely recommend this, co-op is a blast, you can set out on your own, or you can stick together and murder stuff.

Yeah looks like co-op is the way to go for this game. Game really looks fun but I decided to put it on hold till it's on sale or my friends decided to get it.

Apparently they released the dev build by accident or some such non sense.

I did not yet buy the game. I heard there is no FOV option and the base FOV is pretty small.

I'm not buying without a FOV option, period. If they forget about basic things like this, can't help but wonder about all those things I can't think about right now that is bad and consolized. So until they get their asses working on patches for proper PC features, they're not getting a penny from me.

That sucks. I'm looking for a PC review. All I've seen are console review so far.

I'm very disappointed by the leaked stuff so far. Graphics settings seem very low because you can see every pixel and a lot of things seem quite unfinished...the selection screen has nothing on the D2 screen (which is an 11 years old game!!!!). At the last picture the barbarian isn't even holding the damn shield in his hand, it's just stuck to his arm... I really hope this is just really old footage and stuff because I am not impressed at all.

See how these warriors are holding their shield?

I'm not a fan of jaggies, either. Don't care if the graphics is so so in game as long as anti-aliasing is an option. There a thread that unofficially confirmed that there's a FSAA support for D3 so don't worry about it much. And well the game is indeed unfinished, that's why blizzard is still saying "soon" for beta and "when it's ready" for the final product don't they. Let's just all wait for the beta and all of our questions and doubts will be answered.

IMHO the hud is very similiar to Titan Quest (the skill icons especially).

HuD you meant the action bar? Umm heck no. The icons? double heck no. This is coming from a guy that has played Titan Quest for 250+ hours and still playing it from time to time ;)

Although at 1 point blizz kinda tried and approach their skill tree mechanic which of course in the end didn't work out.

The screenshot led me to an action bar question, did they remove the tab for right click? I know that they decrease the active skill from 7 to 6 so the tab was the one that got cut? Also I noticed that he's currently mouseovering the blacksmith and has his name pop'd out. The font at least should be the same as the one in the boxed conversation where it shows the wizard's portrait.
