True but also in general - I remember when you wanted to know something about a game you looked up a faq someone had written on gamefaqs and searched the exact bit you wanted. Now everything links to a 20min youtube video you need to scan through just to get one bit of info.
You're talking about MHM, who is pretty notorious for making long and drawn out videos over simple topics.

I'll never understand why everyone makes long videos talking about things instead of just writing them down so that people can see the info they want quickly.
What I do (until it broke this season end, but it'll fix again once 2.4 starts and I get one more tab) is have all my class sets and as many class-specific items as I can fit sitting in the character's inventory. Legendary gems are also removed while their inventory is full of gear.
Tab 1 was crafting mats, gems, and leg gems, but now I have so many leg gems this doesn't work anymore.
Tab 2 was an empty tab but now it has 10 billion legendary gems waiting for the enhancement recipe.
Tab 3 is for shared Str items
Tab 4 is for shared Dex items
Tab 5 is for shared Int items
So when I go to play a character I empty their inventory into the empty tab (not working so hot right now) put on the highest level gems they use and then if I want to play something else later swap the whole lot around.
Is it annoying? Yes, but it's not like there's any other space each season (char slots filled plus I don't want to have to check mules for crap because that's even more work.)
I'll also never understand why there is no character independent stash and then a smaller shared stash for swapping gear between characters (like in Borderlands 2, and Torchlight 2, and...)

But DH is rock on now....played alot in the PTR and i loved it.
care to elaborate? or just mention them so I can reconsider. I didnt really have time testing in the PTR. thanks for the input tho!
Perm vengeance also giving 40% dmg
3-4 new 50%+ dmg reduction options
UE with Multishot
Mara with Cluster Arrow or Multishot or Chakram
Shadow's with Impale / FoK
Nat's with Strafe or whatever
LoN with uh I saw a a Strafe build, but any skill you want really.
Demon Hunters are so much fun and all classes are pretty much comparable in power this patch.

I've been planning (and voted) Crusader, but honestly since the PTR is still up (why is the PTR still up) all I've been doing today is running Shadow DH even though I don't really have anything to test or gain from it. Assassin play is just so much fun.

I was kidding, I think the upcoming class variety is fantastic. But I've seen many people say that class x or set y is garbage now because some numbers changed, or they won't be able to be on the leaderboard with it, and it's sad that they can't see the potential every class now has, even if it's for a different purpose than the leaderboards.
Quote from lxxcurseBut how can people have fun creating many, varied builds for various activities when everyone is top of the leaderboards with the best of the best build that they copied off a website?
Seriously, looking forward
It's very hard to balance the builds in order to make all of them equally capable of climbing the leaderboards. But for example, in PTR, top 3 WD used Jade while top 1 and 2 used Helltooth. This is good.

Seriously, looking forward to 2.4 so much. So many small annoyances fixed, so many new options to try.

My season goals were a little weird.
I played like a crazy person for the first half of season 1 and actually managed to rank okay (G39 when G39 put you on somewhere in the middle of the top 1000) until I snapped after the 10th or 15th endless cave grift filled with empty tunnels separated by arcane frozen jailer bees.
Didn't play again until I randomly fired it up to pass a boring afternoon a little less than 2 weeks ago to goof off for a few hours. Saw season 4 was ending soon. I knew there had been a lot of changes since S1 but wasn't up to date on the particulars. Got the idea in my head "The next 2 weeks are slow for me. Lets have fun and see how far I can get in 2 weeks." So that was my goal. Have fun and see how far I can get as a late entry. Didn't know the state of the classes, so rolled a barb because I hadn't ever done one before.
So I start up the last day of the season with a personal best around 47, where I had been stuck for a day or two. Alternating back and forth between HOTA and WW builds. Was kinda hoping to get 50 but wasn't looking good, as I still hadn't managed to dig up any ancient weps for ww, nor a furnance , nor a few other important goodies like hexing pants.
The day grinded on. I was having little more success with HOTA when i got really lucky, but WW was producing paragon faster. As the world was ending anyway, i rolled the natural sockets off a terrible Bul-Kalthos pair that have no business being gifted and gifted them anyway, hoping a little extra damage and a lot of luck for the last few runs might put me over.Ended up breaking a 50 with about 2 hours left in the season, and 51 with 45 minutes left. My final rift of the season was a comedy goldmine of deaths in a 52 that took 24 minutes, with the guardian dying 8 minutes before server shutdown.
People like to bitch at blizzard, but the improvements going directly from S1 to S4 are amazing. And I had an absolute blast. Goal Achieved.
This is super cool.
Also yes, people complain a whole lot at Blizzard, but seriously the game has improved so much, and improves a ton every patch. I remember waiting for 2.3 to release so I could take advantage of all the cool new set changes for my HC WD, and now I don't want to play him because I'm sitting waiting for all the new 2.4 changes for him to take advantage of.
Not so long ago we were doing garbage like bounties for 5 normal rift keys for greater rift keys to do a trial every time you wanted to do a greater rift.

My goal each season is to complete all of the achievements / journey solo, ideally with one character.
Couldn't get Guardian because of the 'Clear a TX rift in 3 minutes' requirement.
Thankfully this season looks like it'll be a little less third class citizen for solo players.

Working well at P760 with lv50 gems, no gem augments on items, wrong hellfire passive, and only 4 ancient items.
Running T10 in roughly 3~4 mins on bad maps, and about 2 mins on Southern Highlands.
I'm missing the fleet footed passive, but from playing this build so far I don't feel it would be needed. I would probably swap out the Zei's for Trapped and use Thrill of the Hunt as the 5th passive.
This seems like a really good indicator to me.
But yes, I totally agree that it would help if people showcasing builds would do them without mass paragon and augments added for builds that aren't meant to be leaderboard-winning, because they should know that the vast majority of their audience is not going to get that far. I can't speak for others but for me personally as a solo player the quoted post above is roughly where I reached last season. Plenty of Ancients, lvl55+ gems, ~para650. All the video would have to do is have a reasonable paragon mainstat reduction and it'd be fine. Not sure about for other players.
The people crying that it won't work without insane para levels aren't presenting any useful information either, just guesses.

People are talking about LoN Horse and Locust and that's fine as your goal speed build, but this build is terrible because he had good items? At least you can start playing this one before you have the items in ancient form.
Why would people expect to be able to go at this speed right at the start of the season? It doesn't mean the build won't work at all if you personally are not doing regular 2 minute clears. It's a build that is easy to play and clears TX, building up to super fast. Do you need to be walked through gearing up from average versions to ancient by someone with an excited voice in order to figure that out for yourself?
Also the presentation told me everything I needed to know about the build. Jumping around screaming wouldn't have made it better, and it was certainly easier to understand than the last video on this page and more accurate than the one before that.

I have one of each class waiting to do the set dungeons - all of their sets are just sitting in the character's inventories instead of in the Stash. It's not like they need to loot anymore anyway. Will we be able to do it in 3 days? I guess we'll find out, but I'm gonna try.

My personal bet is that DH will be the easiest to solo Guardian with. If you have a group though it's much easier with anyone because you can be carried through the T10-3min thing.
DH can and has done 80+ GR both solo and in groups, shadow currently being popular as part of a 4man team.
Crusader can do all of those things too.
Can you do them with these classes? I don't know. But others have. As I said, my bet is that DH will prove to be easier to progress with than Crusader.

Also, I want more wings.

Why don't you leave the powering up nonseasonal gear and exploring new zones for after S5 starts? There's no reason to power up gear until you're playing that character, which you won't be doing if you're leveling anyway.
I think 3 days is enough if you have all of the sets already. Just start getting the other Crusader sets you're missing now and stock up on crafting mats to cube the rest once the patch releases them.

This seems to be the billion dollar question this patch.
Personally I enjoy the DH a lot more, but it seems to me like speedrunning a billion bounties is going to be important, and while DH can certainly go fast, it's not ideal for lazy repeating for hours and hours. So after testing each class and build, I decided that instead I'm going to go with the awesome animal movement of...
The Witch Doctor. Because while Crusader might be almost as fast, Nothing competes with the locust chicken's ability to clog up everything on the screen when you just want to teleport out without someone coming and saying hi. Invoker was fast but this happened to me a lot and made things not so fun or fast for me. I can still see why people would like Crusader though.
In the end, I think they're close enough that you can choose whichever you like more.

Move to China.

It's kinda sad to see that not having online only actually did trash the game, considering I always wanted an offline single player (separate characters) mode.

LoN = Legacy of Nightmares (set rings)
The Wailing Host / Litany of the Undaunted
They get changed in the next patch so that you get stronger for every ancient you have while not wearing any other sets.

Even if you don't have seasons, your patch notes are essentially the same, right? 2.4 makes pretty much everything viable, so more than ever you can explore pushing whatever style of build you like, or playing a class that used to suck or you didn't bother with, etc. I've only played DH Crusader WD on the PTR, but they're all way more fun and have a much larger variety of ways to play them that actually work than ever before. Season or not won't change that aspect.
Obviously I can't speak for others, but for me, a new season is more about coming back for a fresh start on the new patch with its changes than it is about the season. If Season 5 was starting on 2.3 again I wouldn't really care about it much. So you still get that aspect on console.

I like the conquests, and I think it's fine having ones that are basically group only (like Speed Racer) but I really dislike the idea of essentially being forced to group in order to complete the season journey (I know some did it solo, but not that many, I'd wager.)
I get group players not wanting to have to solo because as a solo player, I don't want to have to group. To me, if I need to get some people to do one of the achievements for me, it isn't much of a journey. What they really need to do is make things that both types of players can complete (like how they do the complete x conquests, not complete ALL of them.)
Or even better: your Season Journey could be an actual journey, not just a page of walled off steps. e.g. you'd pick a main class (or not) and then depending on your game mode or whether you pick group or solo journey, the journey would evolve with different types of quests, all leading to the same reward at the end. That way you could have challenging but achievable tasks for everyone without leaving a huge section of the player base out in the dark.

Yeah, although last season the cube was brand new so I was extracting them all anyway.
I think it's also faster this season because as a solo player my choices in conquests I could complete involved leveling 6 gems to 50 or something stupid iirc. Not to mention getting to GR70 should be a lot easier than GR60 last season, and the TX speed run more doable solo now. The Malphael requirement is a bit weird at that point, but sure, it's easy. Leveling to 70 hc is going to be a dull but easy requirement for the softcore players.
I thought the seasonal achievements of getting special kills on the ubers was pretty cool last season. I wish more journey requirements were things like that rather than nothing but "level this to x, reach this level, grind more peasant."
My main goal is to complete the Journey solo and would do regardless of the reward, but putting the stash behind Conqueror really is being tone deaf to your player base..
0
Same unimaginative crap, sigh.
Question - if you do the conquests in hardcore (like sets etc.) do you get double credit for softcore too?
0
That's weird. Kulle learned Teleport-Calamity on ps3? xD
Never seen him behave that way on PC. He's teleported in before but it's never been some sort of fatal death move that I've seen.

Updated because I finally realised that the lower monster health change for fewer than 4 players is only in Greater Rifts. So Nephalem Rifts are even worse than I originally thought and solo players are still third class citizens :/
