As long as the customization aspect of the character build is there ill be happy. Now some people may say taking away manual stat allocation is limiting customization but as has been said a MILLION times before.....almost ALL builds revolved around STR: enuff for gear, Dex: max block or none at all, vita: all, energy: none unless your a es sorc......not much customization there at all.....

That argument is based on 1.10 and beyond. Anyone trying to make a point about diablo 2 who references 1.10 and beyond has more than a few screws loose. In 09 and earlier, many diverse stat allocations existed for different builds.

I should be paying attention to your sig and not even wasting my time considering your opinion as substantial or relevant in any way. But great job demonstrating to everyone how people with your absurd opinions about diablo 3 think.

Yeah, because all the arguments for reasonable art and manual stats totally changed Blizzard's mind.

Terrible idea. Any permanent stat increase item that can be found/used unlimitedly, no matter how rare, will utterly destroy the game. Stat point distributions were fair to everyone--this favors 24/7 farmers and botters who will hoard colossal amounts of these potions and get open Bnet levels of health.

Paladins were just fine before 1.10 fucked diablo 2 with synergies. Blessed hammer was the peice of shit filler skill it was destined to be, and pallys were either upstanding zealers or FoH/smiter jerk offs. Blame 1.10, not the pally class.

Pally was my first class when I got D2. Even though I've been a barb since, he's got a special place in my heart.

Just because someone once told you that LAN makes one of the computers become a server doesn't mean you know anything about the real thing, OK?

    Actual LOL. Nice.

    Quote from "Mindless" »
f you're a dick who wants to download the game and play LAN with your friends, you should go fuck yourself. You never do that to Blizzard games, it's an unwritten law.

Right, because blizzard has been such a great company since the release of diablo 2.

I mean, you guys have to admit it is a crap ass translation, totally unprofessional and we are basically half guessing what the fuck he meant.
Now Keep in mind that Blizzard always effectively dodges simple questions by twisting and playing with words instead of giving plain answers, so not to pre release any information on unresolved game issues.
And then basically use a shitty translation to bring it back to English with all it's nuances, and this is what we have.

You guys are really jumping the gun. Until I hear the words "There will be NO Lan based feature in D3" coming out of Jay Wilson's mouth, I won't think much of the issue.

That isn't the issue anymore. Whether there will actually be LAN or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is the fools who would simply accept (even welcome) the lack of LAN functionality in diablo 3. Those who make up false arguments about every single thing blizzard does, twisting it to appear just and correct, when in reality blizzard has made a number of terrible decisions about diablo 3 already. It's very revealing when even the most outrageous of negative changes (no LAN funcionality, pay2play, microtransactions, regardless of whether they are actually going to happen or not) are accepted, even welcomed, as positive ones.

There's no excuse not to implement LAN functionality. The fact that dimebog et al can even deride people who simply want to play on LAN is mind boggling. Blizzard really can do no wrong to you people.

The game is wow worthy, your take is absolutely spot on. The music, atmosphere, and fun have never (and will never) be matched by any other game. It is truly the best game of all time.

It is also nostalgia, because I got the game when I was fucking 12 and playing it/remembering it brings me back. But I don't believe that that is why diablo 2 is the best game of all time. I wouldn't have such a nostalgic reaction if I hadn't been completely engrossed by it as a child.

Precisely. But you and your "mechanical nature" should go back to attacking people about oxymorons, wrongly.

You'll notice I wasn't using advanced vocabulary or sentence structure to make my point seem more valid. Instead, I made a simple grammatical error that has nothing to do with the argument at hand.

Edit: silly me taking your grammatical high-horsing at face value. Wrong can be used as an adverb. And by the way, you can't conjugate a noun. Verbs are conjugated. Nouns are declined.

He used the word properly. I agree with what you're saying, but can you say it without attacking petty things like grammar?

Attacking grammar isn't petty when the person using advanced vocabulary to make themselves seem more intelligent is using it wrong. Statements are not incurred. Expenses, damage, etc are.

A petty attack would be calling someone out for saying your instead of you're.

Balance is good to a extent. Your statement is nonsense, probably incurred from a lack of gaming experience. Play several games then come back and make a comment. Overbalancing hurts everyone. A great example is the nerfed barb diablo 2 whirlwind skill. You spend ages working to get it good and they cut it in half as far as damage goes. Total bs.

Finally if blizzard is reading this, i have one key word of the day, OPTIONS, options, options, options options, give people options.

Using words like incurred doesn't make your argument any stronger if you don't use them properly. It is amusing though. I played diablo 2 since release for about six years, starcraft and warcraft 2 before that, super nintendo and nearly every worthwhile game on it before that. So don't lecture me--with deliciously unwarranted self-importance--about how I need more gaming experience.

Absolute balance is key in any and every game. Would you have preferred that the terrans emerge as the undisputed best race in starcraft? Really, if this is something that even Dimebog and I agree on, it's rather fundamental. And getting something this fundamental so incredibly, hilariously wrong says alot about your gaming experience and intellect.

If you wish to be the nemesis of all that walks and breathes, why don't you go and play an MMORPG?

Because cooperation is required in an mmorpg. Hence the inherent idiocy of the game type.

    edit:
    Quote from Dynaverse »

Nonsence. I'm saying it should not be overbalanced. A highly balanced game is a highly boring game!

This statement is nonsense. Balance is KEY. That was why D2 pvp was so satisfying, minus enigma and guided arrow zons prior to 1.10.

Right, because the WoW nerf/buff rollercoaster never happened...right?
