Mar 29, 2009Lachdonan posted a message on Blizzard and Microsoft Xbox?If the games from Blizz are both console and PC then I will of course stick with PC...I have one already, and I usually upgrade it for gaming anyway. No sense in buying something when I have something I like just as much to play games. However, if the games are console only(which I highly doubt will happen) then I will move on to some other type of PC game. I have nothing against consoles, I just don't see any sense in throwing away my money on something that will cause me to break up the limited amount of time I have to play video games between 2 systems just because games are console only.Posted in: News

Dec 11, 2008Lachdonan posted a message on Diablo III Website Animation UpdatesPosted in: NewsQuote from "scarcoke" »Great work!
So here's my thought after seeing this change:
It is quite obvious to all the Tyrael will play a very important role in the storyline of D3. But what if the Tyrael we all know so far (in terms of character and appearance) is not going to be the same with the one Blizzard will introduce in their new game?
A fellow fan posted some weeks ago a thread mentioning the idea that Tyrael will come back to D3 as some kind of possesed demon, losing his role as mentor and guide but becoming an entity of the same demonic character that he has been trying to fight for so many aeons.
So maybe Blizzard will once in a while update Tyraels appearance on the official website showing to us LIVE the slow tranformation that he is undergoing, in order to reach full potential in D3.
The first image Blizzard posted when they unveiled this site showed Tyrael the way we left him at the World Stone. Now, by changing the wings, obviously making them more mean, dark and aggresive (they actually look like those ghostly figures you could encounter in Kurast jungle and Bazaar...cant remember their name now) it looks like we are witnessing a complete remade of Tyrael right infront of our eyes.
By the time the tranformation is ready, D3 will be ready for launch!
I agree completely that this is showing a transformation from good to bad. But something that bothers me, especially since my memory is a bit off right now, did Blizz actually come out and say that the angel on the website is Tyrael? If someone could clarify that would be great.
For some odd reason I do not remember hearing that it was officially said to be Tyrael, it just looks like him. But then again there was another angel in D2, cant remember his name, the guy next to the last waypoint in Act 4. He kinda looks like Tyrael, except dead. So maybe the angel on the website is really Imperius and they are showing his transition to a fallen angel. Also you really cant see the angels chest on the website, and I remember reading a discussion about Imperius having some kind of special cross on his chest, so maybe Blizz does not want to reveal that its Imperius.
If anyone can clarify about Tyrael then I can get this stupid idea out of my head. I am just rambling now. -

I think this forum is way better than the B.nett forums.. this is much better and mature forum with bigger contents..
Anyway thx for the news.
Like everyone else here, we all want more answers to our questions. However, if Bashiok or anyone else from Blizz were to post outside the B.net forums, for example in these forums, then you would eventually get people who are not 'mature' flooding into these forums. Better they stay in the B.net forums. Plus Blizzcon is right around the corner. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

So lets wait see when the first installment of SC2 will be released and then we can start making better predictions from that. The only thing we know 100% right now is that the first part of SC2 will be released before D3.

I agree with you completely italofoca. Blizz is even transitioning WoW into a more casual atmosphere as well. I feel they have a good grasp of how to make the game fun for both hardcore and casual types of players. However, they will lean towards the casual players more because they make up the bigger player base and it would be stupid not to cater to that.
Hardcore players will play because they love the Diablo series no matter what. So it will always seem easier to them, and they will always beg for a tougher game. If you look at WoW before the first expansion it was only hardcore players that could do anything and get any of the good gear. Nowadays, a much, much larger portion of the player base can do everything. I have a really good feeling this will benefit D3 because Blizz can balance it much more between the hardcore and the casual.

How new can you get though? It would have to be something never before seen, which I do not doubt Blizz can do. But really, the wizard is not new, just a sorc with some new spells and some old spells.
The shaman imo is the most new, even though he has a slight hint of a necro play style and abilities. We will most likely see a ranged class that will resemble the Amazon/Rogue with a new name, just like they did with the wizard. Which leaves us with 1 more class. I am really hopeing for something rather unique from blizz because I do not care for any of the other types of classes that they could 'renew' from D2, except for the pally but he will most likely show up in the expansion.
I could care less about the names of the classes which seems to dictate whether a class is new or not with most people. Better/new abilities, cooler spells, faster gameplay, more customization are just a few of the things I want to see.

I agree, and blizz also said they could make the Barb alot more versatile in the abilities and strats that could be used for fighting, not just a hack away with a melee weapon. Diablo 3 is going to be all about how versatile the classes are. When you think of a Barb now it will no longer bring a picture of a guy with a big two handed weapon getting close to mobs and using brute strength to kill them.

I am sure there will be people who will create alot of extra characters for holding onto items. Some people just like to collect everything. Shared stash would make it easier to do that though, but won't solve a lack of space.

As for bosses that chase you around if you try to run away, I think all boss fights should take place in a confined area/room. As it is with WoW boss fights, if you run away, the boss can reset but there are some bosses you can not run away from because they are in a room that closes once you pull the boss, so you either kill or be killed. No more going back and forth to fight the boss and lowering his health a few percent each time.
Then again if there are no confined areas for boss fights, and you can run all over the place, I would rather not have a boss run after you anywhere on the map. The boss should just reset. If you are not able to kill the boss and have the luck of being able to get away I think thats ok, its not like im going to kill him if he keeps resetting and I will not be stalked by a boss all over the map.
I would also like to add that a boss could have different abilities/strats depending on how many people you play with. So for the spirit boss this could very well be the case for 2+ players, but for a single player he would have some other type of attacks.

I never played Titans Quest but the idea of tabs in the stash seems reasonable...they already have tabs in WoW guild banks, so they already know how to implement a shared stash.

You can send multiple items, you can set a price on those items in which the player has to pay before receiving the items, and its a good way of communication with people who are not online at the time. My guess would be that both of these things are implemented because they fit perfectly.

That is hilarious.
If Captain America did not fight with a shield, would the world explode then?

The more I think about the though, the more I feel they are going to turn out a really disappointing and terrible hard to work with battle net. But lets not think about that. Its Blizzard, and I am sure it will be good, at some point.
