It was my understanding that monsters would DIVIDE their existing loot among the present players, not MULTIPLY the amount of total loot by the number of present players.

If the monster produces 5 times more loot overall just because 5 players are present, then this is also stupid, because the monster is going to be 5 times easier to kill...so you end up with super easy to kill monsters producing tons of loot. True, this loot is divided...but the chances of any one item dropping are now 5 times increased, and you can trade for it. In other words, the economy will be flooded with items much sooner because players can take down big bosses in large packs without needing to be very good individually.

Also Dimebag: I just looked at your Blizzard collection. You're missing Hellfire! If I were you, I would play Hellfire in anticipation for D3 :P

Monster does provide more loot for more people, otherwise why would people ever party. In diablo 2 the monsters attempt to scale with the number of people also...more people = harder monsters = more loot drops.

Keeping it lowkey is better than overhyping...if they said "This new class will blow you away, best class ever." It wouldn't meet expectations aka letdown. They never said the new class isn't good though, they haven't said anything about it, as it should be.

If there are going to be no guns in D3 I doubt there will be any in D3 Expansion since expansions usually are a direct continuation. Possibly in D4 though depending how much time has passed.

When they were making diablo 2 originally, they could have said "there are no claws, charms, etc". Guns are a bit different because it involves technology... but they have to release some sort of new type of weapons for the expansion, it could turn out they have no other good ideas and I dont think guns would be that bad. I mean guns aren't OP, Rambo proves that.

I also doubt that. But talking about a single player, the runewords are there, and iis almost impossible to make a enigma without trading.

They had allready said that one of the focus in diablo 3 will be trading. A pure mode is 100% against what they want to creat. Dimebog i think what you really hate is botting - not real life trading. So i think they must focus on anticheating mechanism.

I forgot which runewords were b.net only... And I agree with italofoca here, cheating is the problem they need to focus on.

Or maybe a catacomb like area that was a living breathing thing. Sort of like what italofoca said but even more fleshy with breathing, pulsating walls and barriers. Maybe the occasional hole where bile spews out of.

I donno, it sounds like an episode of the magic school bus gone awry. How many excuses did they have to shrink that bus and go into someones body...

I kinda like the idea of a treetop village, at least for a portion of a level. They could be like the dungeons of the forest...right click a ladder on the tree to enter it.

That's why the game is broken. You can keep denying it though.

Correct me if im wrong, but enigma is battle.net item only right? Meaning its only availible in a mode that has trading. So how is it broken? If blizzard intended for people to trade (they did have that feature in diablo 2 right?) then it is not broken.

I agree with Fingolfin on most points. I think it would be interesting to see how the whole 'entering a game without people knowing' and then attacking them would work. It would definitely provide some adrenaline rushes on both sides, but it would also probably be abused pretty bad. There needs to be more of a deterrent for someone to do this, because mostly people will choose targets they can easily take on. So it isn't much of a risk or reason not to attack people at will.

Not a bad idea, you would have to earn good uniques through a unique, rare situation. If they put these situations randomly almost anywhere within the game, then people would have no choice but to go through clearing act by act instead of boss farming.

Oh yeah? How do you suppose people in single player 'work for their items' without trading? And they do work for them, believe me, they do.

Single player people work for items of course. But you can't work toward a specific item very well (some exceptions may apply). In single player the point is pretty much to beat the game, the competition is over, you've done everything. It doesn't take amazing gear to do that. In multiplayer you are competing against millions of players to be better than them. The expectations of gear are higher in such an environment, good thing people can trade to improve eachothers characters. And honestly this pure mode sounds more and more like a bot haven, since the only way to get good gear is to mf it, then mf bots will certainly rule that mode.

Well that's the difference between you and me - you expect to be able to BUY everything while I work for my items.

As it should be. It's not stock market it's an RPG game.

Stop comparing WoW economy to Diablo. Its impossible, because the best items in WoW have 100% drop rate on a weekly boss. Best items in diablo have like .0001% drop on a infinite boss. You can't just 'work' for items in diablo. My friend could play 10x less than me and find a zod. He must have worked harder?

Anyways in normal diablo you work for items, then trade for the items you need. In wow you can just work for items you need. Thats the difference between diablo and wow.

Anyways I still think the lonewolf idea is fine, but dont go putting down people that trade for items they need instead of wearing a vamp gaze on a sorceress.

Well yeh, but I never really cared about the variable stats in the uniques. I liked it better when you got what you got. Now it just pisses off when it's low version. Same goes for runewords, why my runes are worse than my friends who got perfect and I got a frikin useless one :)

Asking why your runeword should be worse than your friends is like asking why you found the runes and he didnt. It's a game a chance, you can't take issue with chance of making a good or bad runeword, if you dont also take issue with the chance you find a good or bad rune.

[Skill] Torch Weld: An intense burst of flame that melts the armor of enemy units and reduces movement speed. (Kind of like the armor melts and then rehardens in an odd shape to both provide less protection and make it harder to move around)
