posted a message on Why doesn't Diablofans Interview Jay Wilson?
    Quote from "Krow" »
Let's start by saying that none of us can get to Jay Wilson as of now.

That pretty much sums it up.

From what I know, Bashiok is the Community Manager for Diablo 3 and if we wanna interview a Blizz staff, we must go through him. Though, it's better not to start bothering the poor people with questions... how will they finish Diablo 3 if they get interviewed all the time? :/

posted a message on Barbarian to be the Only Class Returning
I can't believe that argument is still running. The reason they brought back the Barbarian was that he had alot of room for improvement. Notice how the only skills that were returned for him were the Battle Cry and Whirlwind... that's as many skills as the witch doctor had from the necromancer. The barb will be very different from the one we used to know. Another reason they brought him back is that they had to bring a class which focuses on physical melee attacks... don't say it's not a good reason because it is. EVERY rpg game that I know of have that kind of class... if they had his name changed to 'Warrior' would that make you feel better?

Another thing is the argument of leaving behind other classes... especially Necromancer. When they say there wasn't alot of room for improvement, it means we would get almost the same class from Diablo 2 with the same skills... if you wanna play a necro, play Diablo 2. Diablo 3 is not a remake of Diablo 2 with improved graphics.

Seriously guys. I don't get it. Is it so hard to understand? Is it really worth turning tables for? I'm trying to understand you guys and I just don't get what am I missing here!?

posted a message on Gheed - a returning character?
Well... I guess we can close the case on this one ^^ It isn't Gheed. The next thing I'm gonna do is read bestiary... I thought it just gives you flat information about monsters. Aww... I still really wanna see Gheed in D3! :(

Anya... yeah I'd say it's possible. Charsi? I never liked her... she was just too nice all the time :)
Tyrael - I'm almost sure he will be there. It has been offically discussed that Tyrael mysteriously disappeared after the destruction of the worldstone... although it would make sense that he's back to heavens now that the world is saved, I'd say there's still some unfinished business with this fellow. He's also very popular among the fans.

Anyway. I wanted to say why 'De Soto' seem so fat to everybody. In the concept art trailer video, the lower part of the image (the one of his belly) appears and then slowly scrolling up to his upper body and head... while scrolling up, the camera also zoom out. When I edited the pictures and placed one on top of the other it seems like he's HUGE... while he's actually as fat as Gheed is.

Oh yeah... that would be "De Soto" and not "Victor Lee" I guess... got alittle confused there :/

But yeah... hehe, perhaps he's related to him. There will be characters coming back in Diablo 3 and I would still bet on Gheed because he was pretty popular along with Deckard and a few others. I guess the picture alone doesn't say much... but there's a chance.

EDIT... Oh and how can you say he isn't fat, Atru? He always looked pretty fat to me... especially when compared to other NPCs.

Remember that fat greedy bum from act 1? The guy who sat with his wagon in the Rogue Encampment? The guy who dislike everything but money and trys to act nicely so maybe you'll buy something from him?

(I once saw a close-up picture of him... couldn't find it, but I think he got white mustache)
Sometimes when you gossip with Gheed, he says:
"When – or if – I get to Lut Gholein, I’m going to find the largest bowl of Narlant weed and smoke ‘til all earthly sense has left my body."
Okay, so the guy wanna go to the desert city, Lut Gholein and smoke some weed. That's about it for Gheed.

Now, in the Diablo 3 Concept Art Trailer, we saw this image:

Is it Gheed? He's fat, got that mustache, and he's wearing fancy desert style clothes. Original Gheed was wearing a hat so I dunno about his hair, but it's been 2 decades and maybe he went to Lut Gholein in the meanwhile, got fatter a richer
The upper part of the picture says "Victor Lee" which doesn't really support my claim... and if the date is right, it's probably one of the first concept art images for Diablo 3

...but maybe there's a chance to see Gheed in D3?

Assassin's Creed's graphics are one of... if not the best graphics I've seen in any action-advanture game (maybe the new Prince of Persia which uses the same engine will have better graphics, but it's not even out yet) . You're absolutely right, gamma, the style of art in AC really fits the concpet of the game.

As for Diablo 3 having THAT level of graphics - forget it :P it's not even an option. If it did have that level of detail (which is really unnecessary with the isomatric view) we would all probably need a pretty strong computer... because it takes alot more to have hordes of demons swinging and jumping than just having peasants walking in town... and blizzard wants everyone to be able to play (Not that I care... I have a strong computer) but you get the point.

As for Diablo 3 having that kind of art style - AC is a pretty bright game. It lacks color more than diablo and you got realistic dusty atmosphere all the time, BUT it's bright... maybe except in the town of Acre which could definitely fit somewhere in Diablo 3... but in general, the art style wouldn't fit.

Don't get me wrong. Assassin's Creed rulz! :)

    posted a message on BlizzCast 5 Live - Diablo 3 Q&A
Honestly, only from what we saw in the gameplay trailer:

I think they did a really good job with the inventory. I don't think the icons are too small (also notice that items that you actually wear get their icon resized to bigger) and if they will make them bigger... well I just fear there won't be enough room in the log to show everything... and then we'll have to mess around with bags... you know... changing bags and not being able to see the whole inventory at once, I find that annoying. If they make the icons bigger and just give you less room, it's fine, because it's challenging and you actually have to pick up only stuff that are worth picking up. Anyway, from the way it looks now... I think it's awesome. The only thing I can point out that is not so good is the upper layout of the inventory which includes a shiney colorful baggy :) I find it stupid ^^ but really, minor issue, good job Blizzard.

posted a message on Ranger class sort of confirmed?
It just occurred to me that they might as well make new classes related to other weapons that were never used before by specific class. For example (From Diablo 2): Scythes, Spears (not javalins), Knives, flails...

I love how people misinterpret the age and forgetfulness of DII's development as "they totally want us to grief".

Of course! They totally wanted us to grief xD They surely meant something when they made the runeword "Grief" ^^

Okay now seriously, Blizzard had alot of chances to change PvP in the past patches. My guess is that the game was so successful they left almost everything untouched... and they were right because it did have it's magic... but anyway, I'm leaving this subject for now. Gonna keep my nerves for when they tell us about PvP.

so you guys bitch about Diablo taking some things from WoW, but if they take it from a horrible game you would be excited?

    hypocrites

What are you talking? I was never bitching around about taking stuff from WoW... I just personally think that death panelty in WoW is a not-so-good one. So far, from what we already know, Diablo 3 has yet to take anything from WoW except from the art style. Everything they took so far was actually from the previous games of diablo so please stop bitching about the bitches...

posted a message on Unique items should be a lot rarer
    Quote from "gamma11" »
if they got rid of bots and dupes tehre would be hardly any uniques... like stone of jordan.... hella unique nobody tought about it until someone got it and was like holy shit ill dupe this its worth a shitload... and it goes downhill from there

Yep, that posts basically summed it up.

    -Battle.net had dupes.
-Single Player fair-playing had no dupes.

    -Uniques in Battle.net were everywhere.
-Uniques in Single Player were 'OMG!'.

-Getting rid of dupes = Rare items in Battle.net being as rare as rare items in Single Players.
