Haha xD I love Blizzard. It all makes sense now. 'burrowing death' - 2 parts - 2 monsters. The Scavengers were an unpredictable addition to the bestiary... and am I the only one who thinks they are cute? (In the flash animation - they are like hamsters ^^)
*Yeah, night time screenie looks alot like Tristram with all that dark. Don't kill me, but I think the whining about the art actually did something... by 'something' I mean even the tiniest thing.

Sep 26, 2008Romak posted a message on Sexuality and Gender in Diablo III: Beauty or Brawn?Since I'm a man I'll always choose 'male' if the possibility is given. It wasn't always that way though... when I played Guild Wars I had some female and some male characters, now I just regret and wish I would make them males because that's what I am... I mean think of it, think what would happen if in real life you couldn't know who's male and who's female until you jump with him/her to bed.... ahhh!!madness!!! Okay, nevermind... that was completely unrelated.Posted in: News

Actually... you may be right. I really do think that Blizzard are going to show part of Act II in BlizzCon because they said they been working on it for a short while now and wouldn't that be the perfect place to show this beast? -

Sep 19, 2008Romak posted a message on Diablo 3 Item Grace Period & Alt KeyPosted in: NewsQuote from "Septar" »pressing alt every 5 seconds would be more damaging to your joints than holding it.
Bah... I dunno. The people in Blizzard are currently playing and testing it (we - do not) :/ so if they say it's more comfortable, I believe them. -
Sep 19, 2008Romak posted a message on Diablo 3 Item Grace Period & Alt KeyHmm... are you people just acting stupid or you really didn't understand that?Posted in: News
When an item drops, its name lasts for 5 seconds before fading away.
When pressing Alt (NOT holding), the 5 seconds + fade away feature will 'replay' on ALL items in the screen.
Need more time than 5 seconds? Press Alt again... it's still better than keeping your thumb on Alt 100% of the time.
I'm sick of people with reactions like:
Quote from ".KILLING-HAZARD." »wtf?? this is gunna even be worse? i dont see how this will help us. Press alt, and in 5 seconds all the item names will disappear for good?.
Translation:
"I don't understand anything so I twist and deform the news instead of reading carefully and trying to understand, then say it's gonna be worse than ever because it's not exactly the same as Diablo 2. Booo!!"
EDIT: What Septar said about the 'Holding Alt' feature doesn't show in the news (although it is logic that the feature exist), but since it wasn't confirmed, we can argue about it all day. Everything else he said was true and confirmed by the news. -

Agreed.
Just like with the maggots from Diablo 2... they had the ability to burrow themselves and resurface after a few seconds. It was stupid as it didn't help the creature itself at all, it just dragged time... and no matter how strong you are and what skills you have, you just can't get it killed until it comes out and you 1-hit-kill it... -

LoL i'm too shy for some of these contests, and no way i would dress myself like a character, honestly i think that is dumb.
Well, in every Blizzard gamer there is a level of 'geekness'. Here, this graph illustrates the levels of geekness.
0---1---2---3---4---5...
0: Knowing Blizzard or their pruducts
1: Playing Blizzard product(s)
2: In this level you are considered a 'fan' of Blizzard's product(s) by liking/playing alot.
3: Doing anything related to Blizzard product's beyond playing (fan art, forum discussion etc.)
4: Buying overpriced action figures, books, posters or T-shirts related to Blizzard product(s)
5: Attaining BlizzCon and embarrassing yourself by wearing exaggerated costumes, dancing and singing about Blizzard products.
I'd put you in level 3 unless you buy stuff, then you're 4 ^^ -

Sep 5, 2008Romak posted a message on Game Informer - Diablo 3 InterviewYeah! cool Sound is very very important in the game. When I played Titan Quest (Diablo clone), I always turned off the game sound and just played some Metal becuase the sound was so poorly done and not interesting, I had no reason to active it. I never did anything like that with Diablo 2, so go Blizzard!Posted in: News

Aug 29, 2008Romak posted a message on BlizzCast 5 Live - Diablo 3 Q&AAssassin's Creed's graphics are one of... if not the best graphics I've seen in any action-advanture game (maybe the new Prince of Persia which uses the same engine will have better graphics, but it's not even out yet) . You're absolutely right, gamma, the style of art in AC really fits the concpet of the game.Posted in: News
As for Diablo 3 having THAT level of graphics - forget it it's not even an option. If it did have that level of detail (which is really unnecessary with the isomatric view) we would all probably need a pretty strong computer... because it takes alot more to have hordes of demons swinging and jumping than just having peasants walking in town... and blizzard wants everyone to be able to play (Not that I care... I have a strong computer) but you get the point.
As for Diablo 3 having that kind of art style - AC is a pretty bright game. It lacks color more than diablo and you got realistic dusty atmosphere all the time, BUT it's bright... maybe except in the town of Acre which could definitely fit somewhere in Diablo 3... but in general, the art style wouldn't fit.
Don't get me wrong. Assassin's Creed rulz! - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I won't add much about this question, but based on what we already know and my healthy logic...
...My bet is; Yes.

Perhaps it's here so it will be noticed :/
Anyway, good luck with your job, Medievaldragon. I always thought you were one of the more intelligent posters Take care!

That's what I meant in my post. It's okay You don't have to check this site every hour of the day to know everything about D3, that just makes you a nerd like me ^^

I think they don't talk much about PvP because they didn't start to work on it. Coop is being discussed alot because it's part of the campaign, so it has to be considered during the making of the acts. PvP is not part of the campaign so I guess they left that for later parts, but just because they promote coop so much doesn't mean PvP is going to be left behind, the opposite, it means it is going to be promoted as well. The aim is to make everything better. Guild Wars for example is a game that combine PvP and PvE (player vs. evironmnet) pretty good. Blizzard can do much better than that.

Not so awesome.
1. Because people would just come with their mule accounts and get extra torches. I'm not kidding, some people play with more than 1 computer at a time.
2. Because it's less exciting when you know you have a sure torch drop, and your other party members have a sure torch drop too even if they don't help as much as you do.
I really hope these issues will be taken care of somehow.
1 account per CD key prevents issue #1, but makes an account loss more fatal.
Making a monster drop loot for all other players only if they are in the same party can make parties consider to 'kick/leave' a non-helpful player, but that brings back the 'loot stealing' so that's not a good idea for issue #2.
Everything has it's cons and pros

Well, judging from the number of people who actually knew it's an old interview, I guess it's good to have it back in the news page ^^
P.S. 100th post O.o

I have to say that this is the first time I hear a suggestion that actually sounds good Thinking if we had that in Diablo 2... it would surely add some spice to Softcore PvP.
I don't know if Blizzard will implement that exactly, but I'm sure we are going to have something more rewarding than ears in duels.

Concept art, like it's name, is meant to give the "idea" of the model. In concept art, the artist is allowed to go wherever he wants with his work; add more spikes here and there, put more hair over here... etc. after that, the developers look the the work and say "We want that in our game", but then, there's a problem. They need to translate the drawing into a 3 dimentional model with various animations and actions, make him fit into different environments, skills, and with all that, make the model not too complicated in order to save file size and not have a bunch of that monster slow down the computer's performance. All that is being taken into consideration after coming up with a concept, that's the reason monsters don't look the same in-game.

I answered your questions as best as I could based on what we already know... in question 3 and 6 I wasn't sure what you were talking about.

*sigh*... Every time I use the word 'art' someone have to oppose what I say! It's like saying 'f*g' in a gay forum! Gosh... that's the last time I refer to that subject ever again... and yes, by something I mean showing that screen shot as well. Plus I completely agree with what you say, there's alot more than 'night time' to come.

Anyway, yeah, that would make alot of sense. Though the Mistress of Pain is clearly not a lesser evil... from what I know, the only lesser evils are Andariel, Duriel, Belial and Azmodan... so she can't be ranked like Duriel, but I guess they have some other connection, maybe she somehow take his place.
