I got a similar set up to you Alavard. Q6600, 2x 880GT, 4gig ram. I played a bit of AoC and could run that fine on full settings, and since D3 and all Blizzard games for that matter aren't made for the bleeding edge, I think I'll be fine with what I have.

Another quick question, if I were to buy that and read those four books first; would that be alright considering I wouldn't have read the sin war at that point? Or should I go out and buy the sin war books first.

So I really have never read any of the Diablo lore, but the more I hear about it, the more I want to get on the inside and start reading. I was wondering if anyone knew of a box set, or one large book that contained all the books within it. Or maybe even just a box set for a few of the diablo books.

I also believe that this will have some significance in the lore of the game itself. The flavor text obviously implies that Heaven has something to fear. Its long been the belief of both heaven and hell that man will be the deciding factor in the war between the two.

Perhaps this means that hell has gained the favor of one, or many powerful humans that could possibly sway the tide of battle. But who knows at this point, all we know for sure is that the forces of hell has some trick up their sleeve that heaven respects and fears.

Perhaps Diablo has found some way to bring his brothers back to the realm of mortal man and hell. Maybe he has used his own body as a vessel and thus combined the three brothers into one all powerful being. This would certainly give new meaning to the term 'hydra', and it sure as shit would be something for heaven to fear. All three prime evils not only working together, but working as one?!

Like many other companies that sell video games, this is most likely nothing more than their best estimate as to when the game might come out. I doubt that they have inside information from Blizzard as to when it will be released. Hell, I doubt even Blizzard knows when D3 will be released other than a few month time window.

Yeah, I would never visit there either, so its of no consequence to me. If anything, I think Blizzard could use those types of servers to get an idea of what hacks / bots people are using and use that knowledge to better keep them off of the main servers.

What evidence do you have to support the theory that Blizz was ready to announce the game in late 2007? Just wanna make sure we are working off facts and not speculation here.

I've spent the past couple days trying to find an animated dekstop for Vista, but to no avail. If anyone knows of one, or is planning on making one I would greatly appreciate it, thanks!

I think Blizz may be trying to give us a big surprise here with D3. A few points to notice.

1) D3's announcement came very long after D2 had been released, it seemed that Blizzard had maybe put Diablo on the back burner

2) If I remember correctly (and I could be totally wrong on this one), Pardo makes a sort of face when he is talking about how Blizz usually releases games 1 1/2 years after they are announced. Kind of sly, like he knows something we don't (obviously) or he knows that Blizz has trick up their sleeve.



Maybe Blizzard decided to do something different with Diablo 3. I have a feeling that they purposely delayed the announcement of the game by 6 months to a year for a couple reasons. To give SC2 its time in the spotlight, and also to shock the Diablo community with how soon after its announcement the game is released.

I believe that Blizzard is much further along in making this game than they are letting on, and they will release it much sooner than the usual 1 1/2 year time frame.

All this mixed in with the photo / video dating evidence and I think we have a good case for this game being out for X-mas or shortly after.

I hope and pray to all that is holy that there will not be any monthly fees. That is the singly biggest fault that D3 could ever have in my mind.

I don't think that showing weapon DPS is really putting aspects of WoW into D3, its just how RPG's have evolved since D2 was released. Players now want more information than they have before so they can min/max.
