You're making a lot of assumption about the game based on a VERY limited knowledge of it. Just wait and see what Blizzard has in store for us, and in the meantime relax a bit!
I remember reading a couple blizzard responses saying that they were really going to try and curb PKing as it really isn't fun for most people. However, I do believe I remember reading that they also were in the works of making a PvP system, maybe even a team one for people to participate in.
With how involved and more heavily strategic D3 is going to be, I think it could actually turn out to be a very good PvP game, much unlike the previous two diablos.
I have a feeling the armor in D3 will be a lot more specific than the armor was in D2. IE each armor will look a little different when equipped rather than almost all heavy armor looking exactly the same.
Indeed thank to Blizzard. I have full faith that they will create an amazing game, because well, that is what they do better than any other company in the world.
Only bad thing about Linux (the reason why I don't use it) is that it is a pain to get games to run under Linux. I tried for a good while to get WoW running, and had no luck with it. If games came native on Linux I would run it solely in a heartbeat.
As for buying a computer, check out newegg.com and tigerdirect.com They usually have much better deals than the overpriced Dell / HP or any other brand name computer company really.
*Edit* Come to think of it, the main problem I had with VMware last time was that it crashed unless I took out my sound card. Maybe trying it again could be worthwhile.
Dynamic scaling like that could be very interesting, maybe make it a percent tho rather than a set value so you do get at least some reward for attaining the max level. That said, I hope they make the bosses much more difficult strategy wise than in previous games. I want to have to think about what I'm doing, not just have to pot at the right time and spam my one most powerful attack.
From the looks of things I think D3 will be much more strategy based, and I really hope it does turn out that way.
Has anyone noticed the blue gem that turns purple on the D3 website...or the glitching candlelight on the far right of the website. I have spent way to much time waiting for new information to be released on the D3 site...
Of course there will be some sort of secret level or boss or items in Diablo 3, its part of what makes Diablo Diablo. Cow level? I don't think so. But there certainly will be some secrets.
I don't think a voice chat is necessary either. Even if they did end up putting it in the game, I wouldn't use it almost ever. Like the guy above me said, its not an MMO where a lot of strategy is required and good communication is key, or at least it doesn't appear that it will be that way.
And even if it does turn out that way, there is always vent which, chances are, will be of higher quality.
I'd be happy with an item system similar to diablo 2. At the moment I can't think of too many improvements to it other than somehow limit how quickly some people can MF and amass a huge stock of wealth. The only thing I didn't like about the old item system was the item inflation.
I personally wasn't a too big of a fan of the light radius, I would be content is D3 didn't have one altogether. It is kinda fun not knowing what is around the corner, but more often than not I just found it annoying not being able to decipher my surroundings.
At this point I'm not even sure. Probably at least 3-4 hours a day on this site alone just because I get to do it all day long while I'm at work. Diablo is, and always has been my favorite Blizzard franchise, and I just cannot wait for D3 to get rolling.
What probably happens is that the code will do a check (before any animation is done) to see whether or not the incoming attack will reduce your HP to zero. If not, then a normal swing animation will be executed. But if so, then you get some crazy death animation.
Hopefully we will see this on many many monsters, and not just the big ones. But having it at all is still very cool. Makes dying less shitty.
I hope we actually get a class called shapeshifter with abilities to transform into elementals, were-animals, and demons.
Maybe a class called "Morphling" or something of that nature would be fun. A class that has no true identity of its own, but just steals the look / feel / spells of other things in the world. I think that would be a really interesting class to play.
Although, making armor models for so many variations would be very difficult, so either Blizz said no to that right away, or the class won't display armor in most cases.
