HOW THE HELL IS ACT 4 NOT GOTHIC? IT'S SET IN HELL FOR GOD'S SAKE, WERE YOU BORN RETARDED OR DO YOU HAVE TO WORK AT IT?

Had to put on the cruise control for how overly stupid your statement was.
    Irony much...?

I was not aware the definition of "Gothic" was "hell"... The whole place was cheese, lava and volcanic rock everywhere? That's not Gothic... thats just the inside of a volcano... The chaos Sanctuary was Gothic, but as a whole Act 4 was just a cheesy impression of what hell might look like... if it was a volcano.

Yeah stating that solely based on the fact act 4 was in hell makes it gothic is pretty much the definition of ignorance.

Ah, so you would be one of those people who never played D2 or D1 I assume, believe it or not the game had varied landscapes, wasn't pitch black and many thought it wasn't as ugly as sin, great games too, you should try them out.

I've played both... Diablo one had great atmosphere, it was scary Diablo 2 had a nice dark and gothic environment in Act1 and 3... but none really in act 2 or 4....

However by todays standards both games are hideous.

Everyone wants/expects Diablo 2.5 Or Diablo 2 Expansion Pack 2... well guess what... it's Diablo 3. Like the guy said... if you don't like it, play something else.

I'm going to go back to rationality and remember that it's TWENTY MINUTES OF ONE DUNGEON/AREA.

Pretty much what that guy is saying... I mean at first I agreed that it would be nice if it was darker and grittier...b ut then it turned into a freaking crusade "I'm going to cancel my pre-order and kill myself if it doesn't change" sort of thing...

I mean the fact that they TRIED it "grittier/darker/gothic" and said it really didn't work... AND that they said "it gets darker/grittier etc as the game goes on is enough for me...

20... minutes... of gameplay... all i one area...

posted a message on Attribute Points? New concept?
I would love the idea of having an extra area of customization to your character that makes it unique from joe bloggs down the road... However I don't think it should be implemented in the way that you suggested.
I would like something like passive abilities on a separate system than the "skill" system.... for example sorcs had a mastery in each tree, that just benefited all of their spells... it would be sweet if there was a similar thing implemented with say racials... So you could put skill points in frost fro frost spells/abilities... and then you get some racial points to do passive things and can go say, increase the duration of slowing effects, increases the slowness... increase the damae, increases the range/radius... etc. but on a completely different skill set.

No healer/tank specialists... this is not wow... each character can deal damage and handle themselves.... jesus... people just put blinders on when they want a game to go into the shitter and be like f'in wow...

FFS bro settle down. Wow didn't invent healer/tank classes, they're in thousands of other RPG's. The paladin in D2 technically had 2 heal spells... Diablo 1 had "Heal" and "Heal-other"...

It's fine to not want the game to be like wow and it's fine to not like an idea.... but you can't justify not having something in D3 soley because its an aspect of the game that also happens to be in wow...

Otherwise we might as well get rid of items, experience, levels, undead, demons, spells... cause WoW did it. Which is why my sig is what it is.

Forums are the most bias place for posting opinions and the rarest place for constructive criticism.

Actually Diablo 1 was largely side quests that were quite good, like King Laeoric, Poisoned well, halls of the blind, missing signpost etc.

Hmmmm... My guess would be Spellcaster, Healer, and Ranged types... I think they will leave the Stealth class for the expansion

I don't honestly see how Diablo could ever fit a healer specialist....

I think/hope that it will be a melee caster hybrid. Barb is pure melee, mage type caster is pure caster... Then have a warrior mage type thing. Has some devastating spells and devastating melee... but it would need a unique theme like an evil knight (Death Knight?) or holy crusader (Paladin)...

Stealthy/assassin type will most likely be incorporated into the ranger class, giving them traps. combo abilities etc rather than an ALL bow or ALL Javalins... and some passive abilities.

I wouldn't be too disappointed if they just went more in depth with the current classes, and showed full skill tree's, how they see them working/interacting etc.

Yeah Hulu is shit. Why the hell are there so many sites that are "only available in the US."

    It doesn't mean much really.

I'm hoping for a mage... but i'm hoping for them to be new and unique as opposed to a rehashed "sorceress"... I wouldn't be too surprised/dissapointed if they were more shamany than just an elemental mage. Have like an Earth/Nature area, and stole some Druidy abilities.

I prefer the original pic. Even though it "isn't diabloish" or "green is unnatural"... it's still more interesting, the grey one is just washed out and boring. The barb looks like he aged 50 years too.

posted a message on Anachronistic Item Names
I really don't care if they use exact names for weapons or not, it doesn't take away from the immersive Diablo2 universe. I really think this is just nit picking.
I mean if you REALLY want to get that picky then they shouldn't be speaking English. I mean it's pretty unlikely that another world thats never had contact with earth happens to spawn the exact same language, so they should invent some new random language that we should all have to learn in order to play.....

No I think it's fine. It's a small thing, most people understand the basic weapon names so it helps them get an idea of what they are (Gladius, Broad Sword, Long Bow, Partizan, Cleaver etc.) and saves a lot of time in completing the game.

posted a message on new interview 08/07
Good read thanks. I like that they have 4 characters nearly done, means there will hopefully be at least one released at Blizzcon :D
I'm glad they've completed act1 too. I was thinking they might have just danced around with a few acts... Just cause they've "only" completed act 1 doesn't mean they haven't done the other acts... I assume at the start they storyboard'd all the acts and drew concepts and basic tile sets etc.. rather than doing NOTHING on the last 3-4 acts.

It sounds exciting, can't wait for new solid info
