If you use firefox, particularly with noscript it acts like you don't have the plug in...Quote from "italofoca" »Can someone PLEASE post a link to a scripted version of this interview ???
I really can`t install the plug in =(
I just coppied it into IE and it worked fine.
If you ARE trying it in IE then I have no idea sorry.
On topic, lots of interesting info coming out of their europe trip. I love it. -
Aug 29, 2008Karjalan posted a message on Jay Wilson Interview for www.grytv.plWell the runes had already been figured out... there was the rune from frostmourne (warcraft), the hel rune (diablo), something from starcraft... the symbol that was on the cover of Pax Eternia (and OOOLLLLD blizzard game) and something from the lost vikings... can't remember.Posted in: News
But basically it was the core 5 gameing franchizes they had worked on. -

Interesting info about the AI. But most of the info isn't very useful until we get some hands on experience from people at say blizzcon or something. -

Aug 24, 2008Karjalan posted a message on Diablofans - WWI Card Tyrael Pet ContestMy idea/suggestion is to do with trading. Personally the idea isn't very original as it basically involves taking the item link system directly from wow.Posted in: News
I still play Diablo 2 and the one thing that continually frustrates me is that you are basically expected to know the entire item database off by heart as you cannot link items, or inspect people to see what they are wearing, in other words you can only show other people either your gear or what you have to trade by opening trade with someone. The ability to link items in chat, or at least directly to a person through whispers would greatly help. Particularly with the nature of Diablo's items usually having multiple random modifiers that means one Buriza is not as good as another.
So my suggestion is to allow the use of item links, whether through any conversation or through whispers, or any other method. -
Aug 24, 2008Karjalan posted a message on Jay Wilson Interview for www.grytv.plYou going to post part 2 in the OP or at the end? Or make a new thread even? I'm curious what more could be covered that hasn't in the past interviews.Posted in: News

Aug 24, 2008Karjalan posted a message on Jay Wilson Interview for www.grytv.plOh sweet I like the idea that there are some towns that will get invaded by demons... It would be sweet to defend a siege with some mates and NPC's.Posted in: News
Checkpoints is interesting but needs more clarification. I like how they are changing things up, and not just making Diablo 2.5.
Also at the very end "lots of people are asking 'how will you bring back diablo'?... well we killed him." I wonder if that means either A) there won't be a Diablo or he will be some form of undead reincarnation. -
Aug 7, 2008Karjalan posted a message on Diablo 3 Art Director ResignsPosted in: NewsQuote from "timmen" »Another kid who thinks his opinion is the only one. So tiring
That dude never says anything that is unbiased or constructive and often insults people... your better off doing what I did and ignoring him imo.
I'm pretty certain this whole "new art director" is nothing and has been blown out of proportion. -
Aug 7, 2008Karjalan posted a message on Diablo 3 Art Director ResignsPosted in: NewsQuote from "Atrumentis" »Are you sure the art direction is a new job? I swear they have all been there for ages.
Yeah... thats what I was thinking, and from reading the job description... it doesn't sound like someone that makes all the decisions for the games art direction, so much as manages the team, enforcing someone else's "direction"
Quote from "Atrumentis" »Yeah, go to their profile and click 'Add user to your ignore list'.
Cheers, I tried just clicking once and there was "add to buddy"... kind of the opposite of my intention >.< -
Aug 7, 2008Karjalan posted a message on Diablo 3 Art Director ResignsPosted in: NewsQuote from "shelledfade" »Wow, thats a new job opening. May very well be you are on to something here. However I hope he was fired instead of quitting for the dumbass job hes done so far.
Fuck yes, in your face!
You are as ignorant as you are a selfish arsehole.... one day you'll grow up I guess. Is there a way to ignore users on this forum? like their posts just don't show up to you?
However if they do completely change the direction of the art, the game will probably be delayed by another year.... Not to mention theres the possibility it gets worse. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I think this guy is an emotional wreck... he's being completely irrational and side stepping any reason to try and prove why Starcraft is the greatest thing in the world. Whereas I didn't even diss Starcraft. I own a copy, regularly play and love the game.
He decided that Starcraft Ghost failing is evidence that blizzard can screw up... which is fine, because no ones perfect and one day blizzard will release a flop. However I was pointing out that they were experimenting with an FPS, for the first time ever, as a spin off of their lesser known/played franchise... compared to D3 which is a carbon copy sequel to a highly successful/popular franchise...
This does in no way mean that Starcraft isn't successful/popular or great. But that's how XxL2PxX is chosing to interpret it.

First of all get a dictionary and look up contradiction. By your definition there can only be one at the top and anything else is terrible.
Just because something is better/more popular doesn't mean that the other cannot be good.
18.5 million > 9 million I heard. ONCE AGAIN... you are missing the point entirely... troll away.
0
And you're completely missing the point... so I'll just assume you're trolling and carry on.

Rule 14 man... rule 14... >.<

Warcraft orcs & humans and then Warcraft 2 got Blizzard it's fame and made it well known, Diablo II was the game that began their money mountain, with 18.5 million sales.... Starcraft was a great game, but lived in the shadow of WC2 and D2.
Starcraft is Brilliant, all their games are a success, well done, fun to play. Starcraft ghost was never even completed or released on any level, it was a whole new gaming platform as opposed to a direct sequel... so no, you can't compare it to Diablo 3
0
You can't really compare a whole new game line, based in their least popular/successful game world, in a whole different platform... to a carbon copy, exact same game style, sequel to their most successful/popular (not including WoW) game world/platform.

Well I guess I might as well put the reference in case people don't get it... also there is a word minimum. HHGttG

No "stay a while and listen"?
Otherwise top job

Sigh... alright, well originally they stated that they were not the same due to the whole "omfg we're all crazy from hell."
0
Man... does no one do any research and just blindly follow what other people say?
They stated in like the first line of the story epilogue.... "Takes place 20 years after the events of D2.... all the heroes from that era have been driven mad from the horrors of hell."
NONE of these are the SAME characters from D2... The barb is not, he is similar to the old D2... but he is NOT THE SAME.
Notice how like 90% of the "exact same barb from D2"s abilities were never in D2... in fact only leap attack and whirlwind were. They also happened to be the only non boring moves from D2.
I would say "inb4theOMGITSWOWISH"... but... I didn't read EVERY post and it's probably too late.

Hahaha... aww diddims... did mummy not warm your milk and tuck you in last night?
Apart from the fact your first point makes no sense and has no relevance... And the fact that your next point is completely incorrect... Your still the naive, ignorant and ironic one....
Here let me do the work for you seeing as you'd rather blindly assume you know better (the call mark of a forum troll) than actually find out the answer...
Being "disappointed" in someone is NOT an opinion. If he had stated "I am disappointed in mr X because of Y,Z. I think the lack of change in art direction will therefore bring down Diablo 3." that's more of an opinion...
I wanted it darker/grittier at first. I initially signed the petition... however I eventually started seeing a pattern and put all the pictures together... and noticed how stupid they all looked. There was no variation, if the entire world looked like that I would have disliked the game. So I changed my stance. Then the art director came out with the exact same thinking, saying the art direction wouldn't change, and that they had tried it all like the photo shopped pictures and that it all looked exactly the same and dull/boring. Then he even went further to get all the photo shopped pics and point out why it wouldn't work.
I agreed with what he was saying, I had made up my mind BEFORE he said it, and I am un-biased as I have been on both sides... and I STILL want there to be darker grittier areas. This does not make me Naive... don't make me go find definitions of words to keep shooting you down, you're only looking more foolish.
You really should do as I suggested and get a dictionary, because YOU are naive and stuck in your bias ways... not me.
Here is your logic in thinking "If you disagree about the art direction, you have a valid opinion, if you agree with the art direction, you are a naive child blindly following whatever Blizzard says."
You're ignorant.
0
Aha, you're calling ME naive? Classic hypocrisy.... grow up.
People are claiming the whole game is going to be terrible, based on the visual effects on a pre alpha game with ONE act finished, played for 20 minutes in one small area that has been purpose built for the gameplay video that is not actually going to be in the game anyway.
WTF... this isn't even an Opinion, it's simply how he feels towards some trivial online TV person. Not only is your comment incorrect/invalid, it's again a sign of hypocrisy... suddenly it's only a legitimate opinion if you agree with people complaining at the graphics... What I said, which is apparently "naive" is an actual opinion, but apparently the only opinions that matter are ones that agree with you. Pull your head out of your arse.
Maybe you should get a dictionary, look up opinion, hypocrite, bias, hyperbole, and ignorance...
But then you won't, you'll probably "defeat me with your superior logic".... also known as personal attacks to the average useless, internet forum troll.

Typical Ad Hominum. Personal attacks and saying "look it up" proves nothing. All you've stated thus far is that Hell = Gothic by definition
