Um, you know we were debating the sorcerer's skin color and not the warrior's skin color, right? Albeit, we weren't necessarily debating it.

I don't know. I thought the hydra was a hydra. But I don't understand the subtleties of difference between fictional things, I guess.

dragons dont really feature in the world of Diablo, which has its pros and cons i guess. not having dragons, makes the world seem a smidgen more like ours, as many of the monsters present in diablo are Humanoids, either corrupt humans (corrupt rogues and zakarum priests), half breeds (goat men), returned dead people (undead of all types skeletons, zombies, vampires, mummies), products of expirements (tainted, blunderbore ( uh i think)). but dragons are fun to try and kill.

but im kinda rambling here, i guess im trying to say diablo having dragons would make it more like other fantasy RPGs out there, World of warcraft, baldur's gate, icewind dale, neverwinter nights, might and magic, and to a lesser extent legend on zelda.

Diablo in retrospec in an anomily amoung RPGs, it seems to steer away from the mormal conventions of fantasy RPGs, as much was possible, with its as little fantasy beasts (demons and the like) as possible, lack of dragons,, inablity to choose races. none of which im complaining about, i enjoy Diablo for these reason if i want these things ill go play Baldur's Gate

Thank you for pointing this out. I would be disgusted with dragons in Diablo. It would change the whole dynamic of the world it takes place in. And it reminds me of another reason I love Diablo so much: NO ELVES.

Because there are no dragons or elves, the whole world of Sanctuary feels more like our own world during an ancient time. It's more gritty and raw and at times gloomy. And all these things compliment the imagination so well when playing the game. In my opinion, this is a key aspect of Diablo's success that I hope they never change.

I actually had been looking forward to Ghost for a long time, even as it gradually became more apparent that it'd be indefinitely scrubbed.

However, while in some ways it looked interesting, others I just rolled my eyes at. Particularly the character Nova. Now, I'm not naive that sex sells and there will be provocative women in movie, television, and video games.

    But this was just ridiculous...

What's up with her ass? This just doesn't look like the kind of rugged saboteur they portrayed ghosts as in the original Starcraft. Even Kerrigan, while mildy attractive, still had that beaten up, worn look that seemed more realistic. This bitch just looks like she's at some terrible Euro-trash fashion show.

Honestly, it's hard picturing him becoming anything besides a mere alcoholic. And he's got the five o'clock shadow like no one else!

Sorry Elfen, I can't bring myself to read the master list right now. So I'll risk suggesting anyway that I'd like more books in the game. Readable books. Either you can read through them or have that cool voice from D1 reading them. Those were some of my favorite parts of the game.

Well the ones that lag are especially bad when they are hacked. Cause then it just feels like you got the fps issue from hell where one moment they're clear over there, then the next time you see them, they're standing over your dead body. It's as if they folded space or something.

Single player Frozen Throne I never mind. At least the custom maps. The actual campaigns are amazingly redundant and dull.

Multiplayer, eh, not against other humans. But I'd do a co op with another human against computer players.

Uh, okay. In all likelyhood, it was probably Warcraft that helped keep that kid alive that much longer. But sooner or later, in such extreme cases, a coping mechanism turns into a survival mechanism and it might sooner or later fail you.

Yes, it's all a rich tapestry.

I was particularly fond of the desert map because of the Dune reference of the sandworms.

I'm not sure if we're talking about units or characters, but a couple of my favorite characters were Raynor and Daggoth. These two I liked because they were the most level-headed and least naive of all the other characters.

I'd like to say Zeratul was one of my favorites, or any of the Protoss, but they piss me off too much in Brood Wars cause they're all like, "Yay, Kerrigan has changed. And her plan to have us help rebuild her army totally makes sense so we can all defeat the UED." And when Aldaris defects because he doesn't trust Kerrigan, you're just like, "Duh!" And it pissed me off how you always have to do all these missions that are just ill-fated and asinine.

Raynor at least trusted Kerrigan the least. And I enjoyed watching the camaraderie between hin and Fenix.

Then Daggoth I liked for maybe more superficial reasons. Such as his cool voice, especially when he's like, "I will deal with the Protoss myself."

My favorite part of that whole episode is after they got all fat and pimply, they started talking all lazy in a kind of pretentious way. "Alright, Kenny use your elixer of the mongoose, I'm now going to use mocking blow." Like when they're all multi-tasking telling each other to cast this or that. Haha, and I loved it when they say uber.

and I didnt use wiki, i was to lazy to do that, that requires going to another site. i just copied from another post here, maybe they used wiki. .

There's nothing wrong with your information. Most of that jazz comes straight from the Diablo manual word for word.

And when I talk about how mortals were a kind of bet to the forces of Heaven and Hell, I'll concede that it is merely my interpretation. However, it was Hell that saw the potential in mortals and were intrigued by them and resented them for it. Whereas the angles of Heaven were out of touch and rather aloof to the whole situation. All of them except Tyrael of course.

Ironically, both sides underestimated the mortals because in the end Tyrael couldn't count on a mortal not to free Baal, and in the end, it was the mortals who defeated all the Prime Evils.
