Also I expect they will try to explain even more about AH since it's a controversial issue.
No beta release but that will start soon after the event so they'll be able to announce a 2011 release date at Blizzcon 2011.

Here's my take.
Most of this system is sound. Specifically, locking runes to your skills, and the random affixes. These both force the players to specialize by forcing players to choose the skills to place their best runes in.
The issue I have is with the whole "unknown until socketed" system. Here are two scenarios that explain why:
New Player:
"Yay I found a rune! It says that I can socket it into an ability to make it do new things! <sockets magic missiles> Wow! It shoots two shots now! <Players a little more> Wait, another rune! This one is level two though, must make my magic missiles shoot 3 shots! <sockets the rune> WHAT!?! IT DOES SOMETHING DIFFERENT NOW!?! WTH!!!!! <goes on general chat channels and spams>
Not Good.
Veteran Player:
"Awesome, I found another level 7 rune. I'll just socket it into my magic missil...DAMNIT! IT'S ANOTHER OBSIDIAN RUNE! I wanted crimson in my magic missiles! And to top it off, I wanted obsidian in my arcane orb instead. This sucks, now I wasted a rune."
Give runes random stats and lock them to my skills, but show me the color first.
This system would cause an inventory issue though, since you could potentially have 5 runes per ability in your stash. The solution? Allow the mystic to "unlock" a rune, costing gold and/or crafting materials (based on rune level), so you can keep runes for common skills, and a few "unattuned" runes around for general purpose at the end game. How would this affect the affixes? Honestly I think that unlocking the rune should lose the affix, so that you're discouraged from just swapping runes every time you want to.

That's a good middle ground between randomness and predictability.
Effect predictable - stats random.
They could also add rares and legendaries runes, like jewels, with more random stats on them.
Would taste even more like an item. -

As many pointed out me and maka are both EU based with high latency, so that may be the reason.
Still why gates hitboxes in town are huge and ashes hitboxes are almost inexistent is a mystery to me (but probably I'm just not smart enough to figure) : both are static and yet the approach is quite opposite.
I shall practice targeting the clear area right in front of or close behind mobs while holding down "shift" in order to be able to shot in the direction I want...easy to learn, difficult to master...well, something like that, right?
time to play more beta.

With monsters it happens once in a while too, but with ashes it happens so often that "attack only" is a must have.

you can see the "hitbox" is quite big and that the dart is shot straight at the monster, not on the side, even if I was holding down "shift".
Against single target it's not a big deal but when the screen is filled with foes it's difficult to select the one I want to attack.

About over 60: it's a fun way to spend your time, "meet" other people, make some friends and keep your brain working....it's good both for younger and older people.

As Bubbletrance posted above farming act1 Inferno is a legit way to play and partecipate to the economy, so no problem there.
I'm happy to hear Blizz state once again how difficult Inferno is going to be.
Really looking forward to play the game, may 15th is coming closer.

Example: the templar seem to benefit from + strenght items, increasing both damage and armour.
Scoundrel should benefit from +dexterity while the sorceress from +intelligence, I guess?

Not to mention the many different definitions of what an "hardcore" or a "casual" player is!
Each one of us has his/her own perception of what the requirements are to fall in one of the two categories and often they differ a lot.

Even if I'll play just D3 my gaming attitude make it so that I need a long time to reach the end.
I'm an explorer, a collector, feel the urge to try out every class and every skill and so on.
The goal is important but the trip should be the funniest possible.
edit: playing SP, I'm not a MP type of guy.

It's fun to read across all these posts and see many different reactions.
I should send a "thank you for your hard job" card to Blizzard staff, keeping so many people happy sure is an impossible job, still they manage it quite well.

My problem is that sometime is really difficult to attack a specific target and in some case it happened that the attack was launched toward a target which was not the one highlighted or even in a totally different direction (backwards at worst)
And since there is not a "force shooting where I'm aiming" button this is annoying.
I've asked about this on the italian b.net forums, if they give me an answer I'll report as soon as I can.

Maybe this is latency related so it will be fine when I'll play on EU servers.
But it will not encourage me to play with my US friends (maybe softcore, no HC) and our Aussie/New Zeland/SE-Asia friends have all my sympathies.
About move button: I use it, also you can just click on a clear spot anywhere on the screen and, still holding down mouse button, move the cursor around, your char will navigate without attacking.
My issue with this is that sometimes I attack monster A and the shot hits monster B (and no, monster B is not crossing the projectile path, nor is too close to monster A).
Also if I have an imp or a scavenger running straight toward me and I attack them an istant before they stop to attack me, my attack is shot BEHIND my character.
This make me think the "latency related" idea may be the right one (if the imp/scavenger didn't stop to attack me it woulb be behind me, right?)
