For those of you who are betting on Diablo 3 being announced... if it doesn't get announced, don't worry... the game will eventually come out and if there's one thing we Blizzard fans are used to, it's waiting. Blizzard is far from done with that series. Also, remember, this is just the announcement of their newest product(s), not the release of it. If Blizzard's announcement history proves anything, it could be well over a year before anything new even hits store shelves.

Tick... tock... tick... tock...

Oh the anticipation.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Yeah, I spent a long time on that one, mainly because there are no sprite collections out there for Blizzard games, so I literally had to go in and take a ton of screenshots and then extract the individual units from each pic one by one. Then there was the whole process of putting all the sounds together heheh, it was pretty grueling to say the least but I really wanted to do something with the characters. I might do another one some day, but not now.

Anyway, I'm really enjoying all of your theories on what game this is gonna be and how you're all looking deep into the graphics on the Blizzard homepage hehe. Good stuff.

It's just a lil' joke I made up when I was eating tacos for dinner one day while making a post here on Diablo3.com. As a result, however, I've thought about doing a joke flash game/movie parody about it at some point. Time will tell I suppose. Yeppers, I actually started the site way back in the day and it's gone through a bunch of changes over the years. Umaro is the co-webmaster because I can't dedicate all of my time to this site and it definitely deserves that kind of attention. So with his help, the two of us try to run a smooth ship (along with the moderators of course).

Yeah their logo is blue 'n all, but I still think that's just too "techy" of a design to be something for Diablo 3, unless they're simply trying to throw everybody off.

I also think there would be riots in Korea if they announced anything besides a new Starcraft.

In case you haven't noticed already, Blizzard has just posted a Teaser Timeline on their homepage to countdown to their next game announcement on the 19th of this month. Take a look!

From the color scheme and style of the design, it looks very Starcrafty to me. Aside from the fact that Starcraft is the only game on there without a sequel, those vertical blue scanlines just scream of sci-fi. What do you guys think? Are they just trying to throw us Diablo 3 hopefuls off or is this further confirmation that another Starcraft is coming up next? Or will the long-rumored Tacocraft finally be unveiled?

It would be pretty hilarious for them to announce a new Diablo game in the heart of Starcraftville (Korea). That'd be one hell of a gamer-cocktease.

Big news today for Blizzard fans!

"It took a good day of calls and emails, but Blizzard just got back to us about the rumor floating around that Starcraft 2 will be announced next month during their World Wide Invitation in Seoul, South Korea.

According to a Korean website, StarCraft 2 is being developed in 3D with a new race and lots of changes for existing units. The site went on to say that additional details would be revealed during Blizzard's WWI on May 19th in Seoul.

When reached for comment today this was Blizzard's official response:

We do intend to announce a new product at the Worldwide Invitational next month in Korea, and we appreciate the enthusiasm and interest in getting an advance look at what that will be, but players will have to wait until May 19th to find out more. Also, we have a very strong connection with the characters and settings of StarCraft, and we do plan to revisit that universe at some point in the future, but we don't have anything new to announce in that regard at present.

So that's a yes on a StarCraft 2, eventually, and a yes to a product announcement next month. The only question now is are they one in the same. " -Brian Crecente, from Kotaku.

So what do you guys think? A lot of people still believe it's gonna be Starcraft (which would be fine too because, honestly, who wouldn't love to see that game revisited just as much as Diablo?) but after a statement like that, I'm thinking it's gonna either be an announcement for Diablo 3 or a completely new Blizzard title. If it's not a Diablo or Starcraft game, I'm putting my money on TacoCraft.

Alright, let the speculation begin! May 19th simply cannot come soon enough.

Hope you all had a great holiday season! So what do you think... will 2007 be the year in which we finally hear those confirming words from Blizzard that we've been waiting for, or will Diablo 3 continue to remain under speculation?

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the design as it stands right now either, but it's just a temporary solution. We'll have a much more appropriate (ie: evil) Diablo design for the site hopefully in the very near future. Just waiting to hear back from the designer right now.
