Lemme put it this way... in addition to the gameplay video footage we've already seen, when I see images like this:

I have absolutely no doubts about how amazing Diablo 3 is going to look. Keep doing what you've been doing Blizzard.

It seems strange how everyone shot down the anouncment so quickly, It seems liek mockery would post something legit.
I said in the post that it might just be a forum bug, but I saw no reason why we couldn't all have fun discussing it in the meantime while we waited for MD's next update from Paris since other big gaming news sites were talking about it as well.

    Quote from "vikkz" »
The reason it only works up to 6 is probably because the forum-script which converts the number (for example, 3) to roman number (in this case, III) isn't coded to work with higher numbers than 6, so it fails.
Ah ok, thanks for the info. Odd they wouldn't code it to convert all numbers though, don't you think?

It's being covered on a variety of big gaming news sites today (Destructoid, Kotaku, etc.), so there's no reason why we can't discuss it here while we wait for more news to come in from MD over at the WWI.

If you ever had any doubts before about Diablo 3 finally arriving, this just might put an end to those questions (or raise more as it may be just a forum glitch). Anyway, it appears as though Blizzard has a forum template up on Battle.net for Diablo 3 called "Diablo III General Discussion"!

It wasn't working a little while ago and I got a "The Battle.net Forums Are Currently Down" message, so just in case you can't see it live, here's a screenshot for you:

Click the image to see the full-sized screenshot.

There have also been reports that Diablo 4 and Diablo 5 forums have appeared on Battle.net - bizzaro! So what do you guys think? Is this the confirmation we've all been waiting for on the site all these years or just a weird battle.net forum glitch?

update: Now here's something else that's odd about this battle.net madness, you can enter in any forum number from 3 to 6 in the address bar and it will show up on the forum list. For example:
    http://battle.net/forums/thread-search.aspx?ForumName=d6-general

However, if you enter in any forum number higher than 6, it does not appear on the forum list. For example:
    http://battle.net/forums/thread-search.aspx?ForumName=d8-general

Do any of you have any thoughts as to why that is?

Where else did you see it posted? On other sites or just on here?

This particular thread isn't a repost, it was temporarily removed by a mod, but I restored it since it's not really breaking any rules and it's SFW. :P

Never thought of inversing colors in Photoshop?

    http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m262/ericeroc/d3-1.gif

It's clearly a Hel Rune, but definitively not a Shael rune.
Plus it looks more to Diablo color scheme :)
I hope I'm not the only one reminded of Goatse when he sees that pic with the colors inverted. ;)

posted a message on g4tv.com mentions mockery!!!
Ok since there appears to be some confusion, allow me to clarify a few things for ya heheh...

    - I am the owner of both diablo3.com and diablofans.com (and i-mockery.com as well)
    - I am the co-webmaster of diablo3.com and diablofans.com (Umaro is the other co-webmaster)
    - Diablo3.com is being given to Blizzard. There is no money being paid for it. However, Blizzard will be working more closely with us in the future, and we're obviously going to become an official fansite among other things. So it's really good news all around. The new diablofans.com site name is all-encompassing for all past and future Diablo game releases, so I think it's really only going to make this site better in the long run. Simply the best online community for fans of any of the Diablo games... and that's really what I set out to do all those years ago when I first put up the site.

Am i the only person pissed about the hype ? Yeah i get it its a domain acquisition , but this news wasn't worth 2 weeks of waiting and of hinting/poking diablo fans. I've all ways felt that umaro wouldn't do the same to other diablo fans as would blizzard do onto us (poke us to death with hints/rumors).
I already addressed this here in case you didn't see it:

Dude, you know whats gonna happen to this site after like a month?? or two? when you type in diablofans.com it will direct you to the blizzard.com site.
No, diablofans.com is going to remain just like it is as you see it, it's not going to redirect to Blizzard. I already spoke with them about the domain name before it was registered and they were cool with it.

I can tell you all that there are no other announcements coming in the next day or anything, so don't get your hopes up about that. As I've stated before, I disagreed with Umaro's "half the web will link here" promo because I thought it would get some people overexcited, especially with a lengthy 2-week countdown. Still, it is big news for this site and obviously something for all the Diablo fans out there to get excited about.

I'm also glad to hear most of you really like the new design layout. We're gonna have the designer fix the top nav image so it spans the entire screen (for those with higher resolutions).

For those of you who prefer the old lighter design, you can still select that theme no problemo. We wanted to keep that one available for those of you who don't like darker designs, even though this new one reflects the Diablo game series more closely.

Anyway, thanks again for all the support! There are many good things to come to Diablofans.com!

posted a message on Diablo3.com becomes Diablofans.com! Blizzard acquires diablo3.com.
    Ahoy there, fellow Diablo fans!

Well, there's no point in beating around the bush any longer, so let's get right down to it. A few months ago we were contacted by Blizzard in regards to the Diablo3.com domain name. While they appreciate all the work that's been put into running this big Diablo fan community over the years, they still want the domain name. Hmm, I wonder why? Now before you get all up in arms about it, allow me to explain a few things.

First off, this fan site isn't going anywhere, it's just getting a new name: Diablofans.com! Blizzard is actually being really cool about it, giving us all the time we need to make it a smooth transition before we hand the old domain over to them. So be sure to update all of your bookmarks and point 'em to diablofans.com instead. Your user accounts will all still be perfectly functional and, along with this new site name, we'll soon have a big site redesign up and running as well. A new name, a new look. Huzzah!

Secondly, while Blizzard is indeed acquiring the diablo3.com domain name, they told me that this shouldn't be considered an announcement for the Diablo 3 game we've been waiting for all these years. They acquire new domains all the time. While this is true, I personally can't help but think that this is a confirmation of sorts that they're working on the next Diablo game. Sure, they can claim it's because they want to protect their intellectual properties 'n what have you, but I can't imagine they would all of a sudden be so interested in the diablo3.com domain if they weren't working on a new Diablo 3 game behind the scenes.

On a final note, I want to thank all of you guys who've made this community so strong over the years. It's only going to get better around here and I hope you'll all stick with us. One of the nice things about this whole name-change ordeal is that Blizzard really appreciates the fact that we're a dedicated fan site and we'll be working with them much more closely in the future to bring you the latest Diablo game news.

It's funny, I've had so many offers over the years from people who wanted to pay a lot o' cash for the diablo3.com domain name and I wasn't even willing to consider then. I set out to have a great Diablo fan site because I simply loved the Diablo series. Fortunately, with the help of some great people on the staff and fans like you, we accomplished just that. But when Blizzard came around asking for the domain, I was excited about it both as a Diablo fan and for their recognition of all the work we've put into the site. Fortunately for us, the diablofans.com domain name was available and it fit perfectly in line with the intentions of this site, so I registered it and here we are. Diablo3.com will still be active for a few more months so everybody can have a chance to get used to the new Diablofans.com domain. After that, it will simply point to the Blizzard.com homepage... at least until they're ready to use it for something more worthwhile. One of the nice things about the new diablofans.com domain is that it's all-encompassing. Instead of the site just being for people waiting on Diablo 3, it can serve as the main hub for *all* current and future Diablo games. Isn't it nice to know you'll always have a place online you can call home? Hey, even Diablo's demon minions need a place to hang their hats too.

Alright, that's all the news for now. I'm sure all of this news is gonna get the Diablo 3 rumor mill running like a mad banshee... so have fun discussing the announcement with your fellow Diablo fans!

update: Some gaming news sites are reporting that Blizzard "purchased" the diablo3.com domain from me. This is not the case. As I stated in the above post, if it was my intention to make a profit off of the domain, I could've sold it years ago, but I didn't. When Blizzard spoke to me about their interest in the domain, I was happy to give it to them since they had no problems with us moving the site to diablofans.com and will now be working more closely with us in the future. So yeah, I just wanted to clear that up... there is no monetary exchange taking place, I'm simply giving Blizzard the diablo3 domain.
