Well, If other members and I think it is spam, there isn't a whole lot they can do about it.
There is a lot they do about it, they whine and complain to me over and over again, claiming the moderator is wrong (when infact the moderator is right). That is what happened when Equinox was a moderator.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
you also have to conisder the personality of posters. for instance lets say someone who is on the commitee gets into an arguement with someone about the topic of the thread. if he wanted to he could just delete the post if he was angry at him. so that should also be conisidered.(though might not happen that someone would get angry)
Seems alright to me, I'm just hoping it works well. I can imagine how much work it will be for some of the committee to receive so much responsability, I'd like to see how many would actually volunteer to the job.
Then there is that idea of monthly invitations, what do you think? I mean that's not to burocratize anything, but actually to keep a roughly constant numbers of additions to the forum, and also to give everyone else a little suspense every month. ><
Edit. I stand corrected by Elfen on th monthly invitations, thought it was just easier to give all the names to him once a month, keeping the amount of work relatively smaller during the rest of the month.
I don't have a job or a gaming computer for the moment, needless to say, I'm bored. I really would like to be a productive member and help share the load. I just need a venue. I hope I don't sound too intrusive.
I don't know, I'd leave it completely to the committee. I'd gladly have USANBC in and he barely has any posts and joined recently, and good posts are hard to come by with all this spam.
Thank ya kindly. While I do believe a place in such a guild or clan would be both interesting and progressive, I view myself as a minority and cannot expect a favor based on any determined posting quality. On the other hand, the user base here is huge and the potential to incorporate so many people that have a common background and a relatively good knowledge of the other people who may decide to join the ranks is rare.

Well, I suggest a much higher post count than that of such a person like me. It should not be a super-secret club, with no girls allowed, but rather a large base for this forum to continue our Diabloing beyond text.
ElfenLied:
You are free to suggest whatever restrictions you want, though as I told you before, it is post count dependant, if you feel 500 is too small, suggest 1000 for example. I cannot institute a restriction based on gender, sorry. Girls have as much right to be a part of this as boys. Some of most well respected members here are infact female.
Elfen, I did not mean to come off as if I had meant "no girls allowed", rather I was saying that it should not be a special, almost closed-off community. I used the girls comment as just humor, and am in full agreement that females offer a great deal of progressive content to these boards.
Haha, you should have been used to it by now... you've been there for a good while I think. In any case, if no one volunteers, you're my first choice for mod there lol.
I guess, but I imagine it is a different job (in proportions) being mod for the whole diablofans.com from being part of a committee for a segregated, discussion-only subforum. I mean, I think it would mostly be used in times of these devasting news and announcements, and all the members will still use the common forums on less populated times. I like to think of it as a shelter for older members against spam and floods.

Lol, Yes thank you
Ironically that's more work. I have to enable/disable/enable your access.
I would love for there to be ten. But I don't think we could do that many.

It's an easier community to moderate, probably, but I am pretty sure a big chunk of people would not want me back: http://www.diablofans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6373
Yah not a lot of people like Equinox.
I used to not, USED to.
I used to be on her ignore list
Fuck you, I'm a dragon.
Lol, I like both of you and If you got into another argument like that I would probably stay out.
Edit: I have never even seen your before Duckman Drake.
