There were a lot of great suggestions in our recent WWI Card Tyrael Pet Contest and they will be forwarded to the Diablo 3 team via Bashiok. I also want to thank Blizzard for generously donating twenty(20) of these cards for us to give away to those of you who entered.
The winning entries will are not based on the quality of a post, but rather the post number itself. We understand that not everybody is a great writer and we wanted to keep the contest fair and balanced by giving away the prizes in a lottery style drawing using a randomizer.
With that being said, let's get on with the list of all 20 lucky winners!
If you're on this list, you will be receiving a PM request for your mailing address in the near future in order for us to mail out your prize, so keep an eye on your private messaging inbox.
Thanks again to all who entered, and congrats to our lucky winners! And for those of you who didn't win, don't worry... we have more contests coming soon!
Congratulations, DiabloFans, for not following the contest rules you set in place. Now Blizzard has been sent 20 identical posts asking for pvp titles, a trading board, and a necromancer. Constructive? I think not.
Thanks for wasting a lot of peoples time with a randomizer. Ridiculous.
""""Another one: I know the tradition is when you defeat somebody you get his ear: Now why wouldn't that be random? (This is a random game after all ^^) For example: If you defeat somebody you get a random drop of a body part from the opponent ,like Right arms index finger ,or left legs toe or a nose ,or right eyeball! And you could collect them ,for example if you defeated X and got his nose ,the nose doesn't drop anymore ,now you might get his right arms thumb and so on ,until you collect all his body parts!"""
ROFL!!!!
-And then you could collect them all like pokemons and make one large pokemon etc etc:thumbsup:

Please show me where in the contest rules it stated we would be selecting winners based on the quality of their suggestions. That would be entirely based on our personal opinions. Nobody's time was wasted because Blizzard will be seeing all of the entries since the entire contest thread was sent to Bashiok.

If i got this right, all posts were forwarded to blizzard, but only the 20 randomized ones where winners. But im not sure, correct me if im wrong
That is correct. The entire contest thread link was sent to Bashiok, who will review the posts and forward them on to the Diablo 3 team. It's not just the 20 winners who are having their entries forwarded.

It just seems somewhat silly that I could have posted "d3 is poopy" and been given a WWI card when somebody else spent an hour explaining their ideas for the game yet walk away empty-handed.
And while it's true you never stated you would select the winners based on the quality of their suggestions, you deliberately made the original post ambiguous.
Anyway grats to the winners I guess and I hope our ideas get read~

Well then, I guess it's fortunate that nobody who won posted "d3 is poopy"
Wow. I put a lot of thinking into my contribution only to find out that I could have just posted one sentence which could be any useless dribble and win? Just wow. I could have just posted my ideas on the official forums and Bashoik would have probably read them if they were any good.

So I took 2 hours thinking up ideas because I thought the contest was about the quality and amount of suggestion, and I lose to people saying "Make gold good". Tell me how is that fair to the people that brought actual intelligent suggestions to the table thinking this was a contest that was based upon that fact.
It doesnt take good literacy to make a basic suggestion.
If you want to attract and keep intelligent conversation and real Diablo fans reading your site, maybe you should reward them and not the person who got here from the Blizzard website. As far as Im concerned, Ill be getting my D3 news and conversations elsewhere.
Thank you Bashiok and Blizzard for making this contest possible. I still can't believe I won!
I'm among the few that actually did spend 2 hours ( or more) to make a good post and won, so I feel i kind off deserve it.
For all the others that made good constructive comments and didn't win...I understand how crappy you feel. The only partial consolation is that your constructive criticism was forwarded to blizzard and will help the game development.

Absolutely. In my opinion the contest winners shouldn't have been random.
We will have contests in the future that are based on the quality of entries (art and/or writing), but we will specifically state that in the contests rules if that's the case. This contest said nothing about it being judged on the quality of the posts... it was simply a case of getting your voices heard by Blizzard (which most people are excited to do without prizes at stake) and also having a chance to be one of 20 lucky winners. Thanks again to those of you who entered. To those of you who took extra time to craft your suggestions, I'm sure those are the ones that Blizzard will be taking a far more serious look at.
