Halo did have innovative vehicles but his main complain was the question, Why Halo 2?

Well, if we are talking about the PC version, everything. It runs like balls on older hardware even though it's twice as fast as the original Xbox.
Are you sure you're just not complaining about your slow computer?

Weapons are generic as hell. It's lame
I don't understand complaints like this. How do you mean generic? Like, should each weapon have multi-purpose functions and be aesthetically dazzling?? I'd say the most generic weapon was the assault rifle, but it was extremely effective, and that's how a weapon should be, no? Reliable and effective? Simplistic, yet ergonomic in design.
At any rate, I'll at least agree with you that Halo has always been overrated. But I still think it's a very good game. I'll still occasionally play the single player campaign all the way through on both Halos. However, I refuse to play multiplayer unless I've got at least another person I know playing with me. It's difficult sometimes to have a positive experience on the multiplayer games when you're always playing with complete strangers.

In a game creation stand point. Good Guy does make a valid point, but there is also things about the weaponry and items that he failed to take into concideration.
Yes, the standard assault rifle was not too cutting edge. But as you pointed out, its fine because that is what was intended for a default weapon. What game developers are looking for, is that new cutting innovative edge.
Example: Gears of War offers a perk for reload button session timing.
What he fails to see is the great items like the sticky grenades. It is rare to get a weapon that will stick to a target that builds anticipation and excitement while you watch that person panic.
Also, the needler was a fairly innovative weapon. A semi tracking machine gun. Most other FPS use tracking rockets, not multiple burst rounds.
Btw the map and lvl design for halo was horrible. Halo 3 has deffinately improved on their maps.
All in all I support the fact that halo had some cutting edge weapons and items. Halo 2 was just blah. Not enough Single player storyline. Too much of the same ol' thing.

i listed expansions but what i mean to say is the orginal game with the expansion installed, as in most cases one cannot reach expansion areas without first finishing all or part of, the orginal areas first.
and yeh i didnt do much B.net on D1 towards the end so the fact that Hellfire has no online play didnt bother me that much. plus none of my friends had Hellfire.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
First off:
Tribes pioneered vehicles, not Halo. Tribes is an all round better game too.
Not Halo - 2
Halo - 0
Secondly:
I don't play diablo. I stopped years ago.
Thirdly:
My system doesn't matter. How could a game that ran fine on an Xbox be so poorly optimized that it chugged on systems with Pentium 4s a GB of memory and GeForce Ti 4800 SE? It shouldn't have but it did.
Fourthly:
Turok 2: Seeds of Evil had a weapon called the Cerebral Bore that would follow and enemy then drill into his head and explode. Much sweeter than sticky grenades and out first too.
Not Halo - 3
Halo - 0
Halo was just a rehash of things already done. So many people failed to realize this and just jumped on the bandwagon when it came out. I was gaming 10 years before Xbox and nothing I saw in Halo made me go "wow" and that's why I don't think it's great.
Yes, the standard assault rifle was not too cutting edge. But as you pointed out, its fine because that is what was intended for a default weapon. What game developers are looking for, is that new cutting innovative edge.
Eh, it's not even that it's a default weapon that it is excused from as much scrutiny, but it is a time-tested design that still managed to prove very effective. Even against the energy shields of opponents.
That's what I loved about the briefing of the Chaingun in Doom III. It makes the valid point that sometimes for effective weaponry, designers should try looking to the past. And the whole design of the Chaingun, although slightly primitive compared to the other modern guns in Doom 3, still manages to be a very reliable weapon. The shotgun is another good example of this. A weapon that is more effective the closer you get to your enemies. So when you're in more cramped, confined areas, there is an incentive to use that weapon.
And simpler yet effective weapons are more desirable on the battlefield because they are less likely to break down, whereas more technologically sophisticated weapons are more likely to require more maintenance.

That's a relief. Indeed the levels in Halo are rather repetitive. However, some of the backgrounds of certain levels looked incredible. Like the one in Halo 2 where you could see the gigantic Forerunner ship in the middle of the city. Would make a nice desktop background.

I actually refused to play Halo at first on the basis of all its hype. But I realized later that I could enjoy it on a personal level despite everyone constantly saying how I just had to play it cause it was so amazing.

Thats cause the 4800 series stunk. Seriously that was one of the worst cards to date. So many issues. It still has issues with game being developed. Worse video card I ever had imho.
Switch over to 9800 radeon, much better card. (same era card, extreme amount of preformance difference)
Just bought a Geforce 8800 GTX. Will post pix when I get the whole system up.

That had all to do with Shaders used for the skyline. Yes they were very well done. That has nothing to do though with the map design. The only one map that I gave any valuable credit is the beach map.

I have a 7900 GT now and I just bought an 8800 GTS 640 for $200. And the 4800 was a perfectly fine card. Leaps ahead of the 4200.
Also, you are comparing a card from the generation AFTER the Ti 4000 series. The ATI 9000 series was comparable to the FX 5000 series of cards, not the Ti 4000 series.
I can tell you right now that if I had to declare a specialty, I'd say hardware. I read 20 articles a day on past, present and future tech and am a member of every major hardware forum. If anyone wants to talk hardware with me, I can go ALLLLLLL day.

Well, the only real way is to compare by generation. A new card comes out every 6-12 months so an era contains all kinds of cards not designed to compete. Hell, by the era definition, every card in the last decade are comparable.
Xbox had a GeForce 3 based card in it and it played fine. It should have worked fine on a GeForce 4 but it didn't. Thats all there is to it.

Asian online game? It's mostly all about americans and canadians on this game. Neways, yeh I expected this kind of reply lolz. It is a pretty good game though... you've probably never tried it, just looked at it. I kind of like to consider this game a "random" game. A game made by a not too well known company or w/e. But it's at mmorpg.com (which it shouldn't be, not an mmo) and the rating is 8.1 (tied with WoW), it's not bad game, not 2d random crap, not with bad graphics, pretty sweet graphics really (the fire kinda sucks though), and it's the best PvP game out there.

1. Lands of Lore
2. Privateer
3. Wing Commander
4. Diablo
5. Under a Killing Moon
Why do so many people like Halo so fucking much? Hale didn't break ANY ground. It wasn't innovative. There were lots of games that had better features in almost every category (story, graphics, guns, enemies, multiplayer).
Lame.
