how was 23 my friends said it was ok...Yes yes Go see 300 u will love it
dude i thought that "the number 23," was a sweet movie, u should definitely go see it. i plan on seein 300 and if i dont ill get it from another source if u catch my drift.
my computer can take Rome, ive passed it several times. its just that Carloseus has very high standards. sometimes he wont even see videos on the internet untill he can find a better quality version. WoW does real good, but Rome lags every now and then. not too bad, but like 3 secs every 10 minutes. its annoying to me, so i uninstalled it. it still remains as the best strategy game ive ever played, and the best there ever was.
So I went to see 300 yesterday, and even being a European I liked it. Especially the way the whole movie was structured like a retold story rather than an actual event happening in the moment.

ahh, i knew you would like it. you liked the way all those persians were slaughtered with glee yes? lol. i was fearing that you would dislike it. btw, sparta is like US. the battle was like iraq war. you can reflect the movie directly with the war right now. :). i just started another intense discussion.
I can't wait till I get my license tomorrow and go see 300 at the theater

No I didn't. I never smile at people dyig even if it is dramatized, unless it is a humoristic way.
And Fingol, if you're reading this, don't bother seeing it if you're only curious about the scientific accuracy. It isn't accurate.

Oh i only just herd what 300 is about. The spartans and the battle for whatsyamacallit. Where there is 300 spartans and like 1 million persians. I know i sound like a dumbass but i know what im talking about
So yeh...ill go see it. Trailer looks amazing, fight scenes are unreal.
After numerous setbacks and delays, I finally saw 300. Wow. The movie totally blew away my already high expectations. I even found myself wanting to shape a goatee and thrust a stick into the side of my car in the theater parking lot. Bravo.
I saw The Hills Have Eyes 2, as well. It was grotesquely entertaining, but I had a far more enjoyable time watching 300.
im gonna go see it next next. yeh NZ licks balls, it dosnt even come out here until April 5th, im gonna get the graphic novel too, if i can find it
hmm april 5th, the day Kurt cobain died.

i Too Sat through the hills have eyes 2 last night ...they said it was supposed to be more gory/scary/disturbing than the 1st one. The first one would make a bunch of high school boys grossed out the 2nd one couldnt gross out a 6 year old girl. IT sucked, The whole Army Thing was retarded and no army squad would act like such idiots. It was not gross nor scary nor graphic. I think my fiance looked away from the screen 1 time!. As opposed to the first one i sware she saw only about half the movie and the other half her face was in my arm because she was grossed out
I wish i had 2 more hands so i could give this movie 4 THUMBS DOWN

Sorry to do this to an old debate buddy but I must disagree. I really hate references to the Iraq War and racism over an action movie. The movie is not trying to send some grand message.
First, I'll have to tell you that it's nothing like the Iraq War. First off, the Greeks (I'm assuming you relate the U.S. to them) are fighting on their own ground in a narrow canyon, in their own land. The Persians, who are composed of millions of asskicking Asians and Africans, are attacking in order to annex more land into their empire. To think that there is some sort of American grandeur in it would have to be a prick.
And just to pre-emptively strike at this issue, I've been hearing many people call this movie racist. Now, for those with even a lingering thought, I must say that you're wrong. Any dolt with a rudimentary sense of geography know that Asian people come from Asia and Africans come from Africa. It's not like someone is going to yell "nigger!" in the middle of that battle (I must admit that would be hilarious, though). And for further clarification, Greek people come from Greece.
Now that that is out of the way, I must admit that that was a great movie. I'm proud to say that it is the only movie I considered worthy enough to see more than once in theaters. But I have seen it twice only. And it was still worth it. And if you don't like this movie, than you need to wear a helmet.
it is has anything to do with a war, wouldnt it be the war its very loosely based on Sparta Vs. Persia?

this war was about all of the greek town-states against the Persian Empire. See, each city in ancient Greece was independent (there were alliances, like the one of Athens and the one of Sparta - which had a nice big war afterwards) but they (we, even since i'm Greek) fought together against the common enemies. Historically, what happened in Thermopyles was that Leonidas and his 300 stood ground together with 700 Thespians (respect) to delay the Persians and give time to the rest of the alliance to prepare for the upcoming battles. In which they succeeded.
PS. i didnt pay attention to this thread in a while so i missed the "Sparta like the US". If there was an imperialistic force at that time that would be Athens (for those that like comparing). Sparta was like the first really communistic state. Everyone was equal, everyone had the same money, ate the same food (they all ate together), same education and the only thing to make one be considered better than the other it would be bravery in the battlefield. Athens on the other hand was the economically advanced, that usually was mixed up where they shouldnt, and pretty often invaded towns that didnt do what they wanted them to (had the strongest fleet, the Aegean was theirs).

i gotta research all that, maybe i can find a special on the history channel, since historical movies are always analysed and explained more accurately there.
Pelloponesian War, yeah. Been nearly a decade since i last read that stuff but i think it did last around 30 years total (might be wrong, as i said been a while since i studied it). Sparta won btw, i loved that part
