Ironically enough, I was the one who asked Bashiok about the WD damage type. His answer was it could just be physical damage or "magic" damage or a whole new type but it was undetermined at that time. So, it is still possible that they could add some new damage types.

What about an alchemy/throwing/dagger class that specializes in throwing potions/daggers/knives? It might include traps too and special stabbing attacks. I like the idea of having a dark/mischievous/evil ranged class that's not such a righteous backstory as the rogues and amazon.
It could have some kind of gypsy/traveler/bard/gambler theme, you know, someone who is crafty and would use smaller weapons handily.
I really enjoyed playing a double-throw barb in D2. I liked the option of melee/double-throwing. It was challenging, but mostly because there weren't any good skills to use.
A skill like Heart Carve, or Vital Rip, or Stab to the Face, coupled with a knife/axe/potion throwing skill, like Poison Tip, Infested Tip, or Multi-Throw...that would make a throwing/dagger class much cooler.

I rather difficulty to separating damage types and kind of damage we have resistance for.
For me it's the same thing... anyway your new "damage type" will absolutly need a kind of resistance for... (fire, cold, lightning, poison, arcane)

I never liked "throwing weapon", especially barb in d2.
"alchemy" are pretty the same as a spell from WD (who's throwing explosive bomb)
