So while talking about some stuff on other threads it came to mind that could it be possible to have all 5 classes be the heroic hero?
Diablo 1 had the warrior, we knew this cause the end gameplay you saw a slendor male thrust the soulstone into his forehead.
Diablo 2 was a little tricky. some said Paladin, Barbarian, or even the Necromancer. seeing how the Barbarians were the protectors of Mount Arreat. i am saying the Barbarian is the hero for Diablo 2.
Now Diablo 3. It came to mind that thinking about how they have said for the character background that it could be possible to have all 5 characters becoming the heros.
Barbarian- from what i know, the barbarian is the same barbarian we play in diablo 2. so we know that he isnt just some barbarian who is trying to stop the evil thta destroyed his land.
Wizard- from the www.diablo3.com site. They say the wizard was ONE person. which would mean that it isnt just some person from the vizjeri or Zann Esu clan. it is a specific person.
Witch Doctor- this one is tricky, cause i havent found much out to make the witch doctor a specific person they name off. only from the Al-Hazier's writings, he says he became friends with one of these warriors. which would make that warrior the witch doctor you play.
Basically what i am saying is that from the looks of things. They are going to specify the characters you play. so unlike diablo 2. where you had your necromancer, you are going to learn that specific necromancer, who you play, background.
and with the class specific quests they could have all 5 classes be in a group fighting evil.
I know this is long and probably way over thought of. But what do you guys think about it?
I don't know if there'll be a heroic hero, first I'd like to know all the classes but if there's going to be a heroic hero now, I doubt the barb will be it, he's already old, but I prefer the 5 classes to be the same, no heroic class, it kinds of make it the main class and the rest becomes kind of supportive in the lore.

i'd rather it was a team effort, rather than a sole hero.
it just makes more sense.
i get that the nephalem have great potential and power now after having read the Sin War books, but i always wondered why i, a lone human warrior, was able to defeat the prime evils of hell, when great, powerful archangels could not.
at least it's a little more believable if it's a group of powerful nephalem that brings down big D.
I'm with you, Barbarian felt like the hero of that game.
I doubt all of them will be the hero though, it may end up like how the D1 characters were put into D2.
For example, we all know that the dark wanderer was the warrior.
The other 2 however, ended up being blood raven, and the summoner.
They all turned to evil because of the horrors they witnessed beneath Tristram, and couldn't cope with it.
Will be interesting to see how the heros from D2 turned out, I'm hoping for some badass boss fights.

Barbarian: You will play with him in D3.
Amazon: She is corrupted as a demon queen.
Assassin: She is the wizard archenemy (special boss in a wizard specific quest).
Paladin: Like the zon now a enemey but his the ultimate boss in a ultimate high level dangeon. And he uses blessed hammer (om!@#!@#g).
Druid: Gone crazy, but are not corrupted. He helps you to comunicate with nature spirirt and cross some dark forest.
Sorceress: Shes a special rare item seller (after years of MFing 24/7 she got alot of stuff to sell).
Necromancer: His dead. But in a very special quest you must visit his grave to get something important (maybe a magical wand). Its gonna be something really epic because you are in the middle of the graveyard and large amount of very powerfull enemies start to attack you (that kind of event that theres no way the player can win); But suddenly all the skeletons in the graveyard rise up and start to help you. After defeating the boss, a wand appears in some tombstone and when you read it you find his the D2's necro.

I'm high, sry.
That's the good part of imagination, but I think the Paladin will be like an old citizen just talking and people saying he's crazy.
The rest is nice.

Haha, well your baked moment spawned some pretty decent ideas, good job man.
I'd expect the necro to become a Lich or a Vampire though, perhaps leaning towards darker arts, trying to prolong his life after diablo was banished. Perhaps he was trying to live longer so that he could once again defeat the prime evils, but was eventually corrupted.

I like this two ideas, but the paly should just go crazy since he is incorruptible imo, he will spam bless hammers and teles around would, it be epic, maybe once you fuck him up he comes back to his senses, winning this shit would give you a godly item, cause everyone knows the paly could pwn the brothers easily cause hes imba in pvm lol.
Maybe when you defeat the monsters in teh cementery, you can retrieve an item from the necro that allows you to enter the final dungeon or an item that affects the final battle somehow
How about the Necro after all those years plunged in dead becomes possessed by all the spirits he summoned during his rituals and roams the lands as an undead Trang'oul Envoy?
I think it might be cool to witness one of the D2 heroes being killed by a boss that you then have to fight. Before dying they give you an item and some lore on their past after the events of D2.
Ya, its true, check the wiki. This heroes were weak and became corrupted.
Well it was hinted at in the game but never really confirmed. They just say that Blood Raven was one of the strongest Rogues in the fight and Horozon's imposter was a sorcerer that tried saving Tristram.
As for the topic of what happens to the other characters, here are things I'd like to see:
Necro- Perhaps he's unnaturally preserved his life by binding pieces of dead humans and/or demons to his body and has become a menace to some settlement. Perhaps he could have combined his training with techniques of the Witchdoctor's clan, thus giving the WD a personal reason to go after him.
Paladin- I like the idea of him being corrupted, possibly secluding himself to try and avoid being a threat to any innocents. The player has to attempt to cure him of his madness with some holy item via fetchquest and upon returning finds the paladin has gone completely insane and you have to kill him.
Sorc- I would like to see her as an NPC caring for an otherwise undefended settlement. She could give you some guidence and explain the lore a bit.
Amazon- Dead but you encounter some town or movement she led, maybe a band of mercenaries or something.
assassin - after baal's 'defeat', leaves and continues to track down evil (specifically corrupted mages) on her own, so its like assassin disappeared from the story (like natalya), but then u can encounter her as an outdoor quest npc in a camp (the only 1 i know from d2 is flavie, and not even significant)
druid - also left, but returned to where he came from, continued living in the wilds, could be another outdoor npc asking players to help him cleanse evil around where he lives (and maybe helps player train by fighting his shapeshift forms, kinda like ancient quest)
The simple idea of having the 7 Diablo 2 characters as corrupted "boss" in D3, retaining the most important abilities they had in Diablo 2 to use against you, just has some appeal to me, no matter how much of a cliche it is.
I also want the sorceress to protect some undefended village. I just that'd be cool. If there is ever a raid, they all get in one house, and she just epic wins. As for the Druid, I think he would have become a Hermit, living in the middle of some long forgotten forest, with tons of animals around. Maybe he's forgotten how to talk in English because he only talks to animals now. Crazy Hermit Druid FTW! The Barbarian is obvious. The Necromancer... My 2nd favorite class from D2. I like the idea of coming up to a graveyard, being attacked, and then skeletons come up to help. However, he was 200 (correct me if I am wrong) in D2. This is only 20 years later. I think he'd still me alive. I think he'd be the one to not be corrupted by evil, among all the heroes of D2. People probably think it's the opposite, but because he controls undead and such, I don't think the Evils would have much sway over him. What I want, is some hunched up old geezer who looks old and decrepid, he carries around just a basic walking staff. You meet him in some generic town. Next thing you know, hordes of Demon and Undead are swarming the place. All the townspeople are running around, screaming and stuff, and the few warriors there are quickly taken down. After about 10 seconds, the only people left are the old guy and you. The horde rushes at you. You prepare to fight. Then all of a sudden, they just start dying. You glance at the old man. Now he's standing up straight, and the staff has morphed into some huge bone with a skull on the end. Each time one of the horde goes down, it rises back up and starts killing. By the time they get to you, most of the army is now on your side, and there is only a few left. It would be some kind of cutscene for a quest, where he takes you aside and informs you of the great evil threatening the land. This could be like, the begining. The Necromancer comes to you and tells you about it. Blah blah blah. Insert plot here. If you're the Barbarian, I could see the Necromancer knowing you or something. I just think it'd be cool to have him rip faces off an army, because we all know he was easily that powerful in Diablo 2, you just never got to really try him out on an ARMY. I'm talking thousands. Next hero, the assassin. I think she settled down. Just my opinion, she settled down. And when all this happened, she protects her family because she kept all her old gear. You meet her by walking through a town, cleaving your way through craploads of demons, and eventually you find a house. The house has hundreds of demons piled up around it. You walk inside and then she jumps from the shadows and nearly stabs you, then realises you're not undead. She lets you go, you chat it up for a bit, insert quest here. Amazon is part of a band of warriors, attempting to fight their way into hell, problem is, she's older and not as strong. (The Barbarian is a God all the way around, so he just gets more powerful with age.) So she and her warriors can't fight their way into hell, and eventually you meet up with them, and beat your way into hell with them. They can hold of wave after wave of demons, they just can't make any ground on them. So they set up a base inside of hell where they will attempt to kill the few remaining prime evils. The Paladin's story so far is based off of the assumption that you will be fighting angels. He helps you get into hell, because he's pissed that the holy powers he uses are now trying to destroy him. So you and him rush the gates of heaven and beat your way, killing everything in your path, and so long as you keep him alive, he helps you. He doesn't suck up xp. Because that would make him a jerk. Paladins aren't allowed to be jerks. And you fight the big bad heaven boss, and if you manage to get him to 1/2 health, casts some uber spell on the Paladin and turns him against you, where the heaven boss flees, and you have to fight him. (If he died before this, you don't get to beat the boss to 1/2 health. He's just there. And the heaven boss just walks away while you two fight.) Once you kill him, you go chasing after the heaven boss, who (depending on which scenario described earlier you went through) is either at 3/4 health, or full hp. 3/4 because he had to regen some in that time period. He's in freaking heaven. Someone has to be able to heal up there. This is the crap I think should go down. But that's just me.

I love the story of the necromancer, perhaps this could be the key to set the necromancer as a hero in an expansion.
I allways saw the assasin (maybe Natalya) as a future "Akara" but of the assasins clan.
The sorc gone mad and corrupted, so natalya killed her (?) or maybe she is selling magic stuffs in Lut Golein.
The paladin like and old man in a random city, telling his storyes and anyone paying atention to him just fit perfectly.
The druid forgotten even himself, and became one with the nature. Maybe in a north wood's mission, you encounter a legion of wooden wraits and a werewolf or werebear comes to aid you (!)
i think since Ureh is mostlikely in D3 The necromancer would be NPC near Ureh. he can be a mission giver since he knows more about diablo since he faced him.
having the amazon become corrupted is just another Blood Raven. i don't know what to do with her but having her corrupt is pointless since they done that already
paladin sound good as another Farnham. but he can give you a mission that in the end when everyone thinks he's crazy his info is actually helpful.
Sorceress can be an object in the game. like she ended up being frozen and you must retrieve something from her for one of the missions.
the druid would to me be the best to be corrupted. have him as a boss fight but instead of just turning into a werewolf or a werebear have him turn into a wendigo aswell.
i don't know what to do with the assassin.
