I dont know if anyone has suggested this yet but i think a great idea of filling the "paladin" class slot would be a fallen angel. not unlike tyrael who has been banished from heavens services after the destruction of the worldstone. adept in sword skills and divine magics. but anyway just throwing it out there . let me know what you think?:)

How does one who has fallen from grace, replace one who has not.
The Paladin is a man (or woman) who has dedicated himself to the Light and the teachings of the Prophet Akarat, otherwise known as the Doctrine of the Zakarum, who in turn was taught the knowledge by the Angel Yarius.
By extension, the Paladin serves Heaven.
So again, how does one who has fallen, replace one who hasn't.
A replacement for the Paladin would be the Inquisitor. A class or type of class mentioned in Diablo lore. While similar, it is not exactly the same.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.

If you want to arrange it
This world you can change it
If we could somehow make this
Christmas thing last
By helping a neighbor
Or even a stranger
And to know who needs help
You need only just ask
