There has been a lot of discussion about "the comet," but in the cinematic there are like 6 of them, one large one and several smaller ones. I wonder if the smaller ones have some significance or if they are just random burning stuff.
Somehow the Black Soulstone ends up in Leah and Diablos remaining essence completes the Black Soulstone to create a Demon/Angel hybrid with wings that can enter both heaven and hell.
LOL not another Hybrid.. this has SC2 written all over it

The Nephalem (humans) are already demon/angel hybrids...
Errm...Pray tell me...How...would she get the black soul-stone inside of... >_>...?

My guess is random burning stuff. If they just made it a singular piece falling to the sky then it would be more obvious it was something of great importance as normal space rocks break apart when entering the atmosphere and create that effect.
I believe the "Sword of Justice" comic series touches on that topic and that someone named Jacob has it. It would also be odd if Tyrael had his sword back at the start of Diablo 3 when the comic (which I believe is considered canonical) says otherwise.

Didn't he throw his sword into the worldstone, wouldn't that have shattered/lost it, let alone him having it and then it breaking when plummeting down to earth as a "meteor"?

Yeah, I don't believe his sword is with him when he crashes down to Sanctuary. I believe it was lost when he threw it into the Worldstone. In the "Sword of Justice" comic, I believe someone named Jacob recovers it, but who's to know what happens afterwards? I haven't read into it so I'm not sure. I think maybe the other pieces falling with him are just to throw us off the scent of it being Tyrael in this first place tbh.
I have always been very receptive to other ideas, that was the point of this thread. It's good and fun to see some of what we brought up come to fruition in the game, or at least bits and pieces. Nice call.
My exact damn feelings
Major spoiler alert!

But now that I think about it, he didn't have his sword with him during the fight with Imperius, so I'm a little confused..
