good pieces of diabo history can be found in the guides that come with the game. you know the ones with skills and shortcut keys. anyways start there a lot of people dont know it but there are a lot of history lessons in those pages.
and for most ppl its like an ancient peice of text too...diggin through boxes or what not to find it and blow the dust off the cover. ooohhhhh its the lost book of diablo!!!
tyreal is evil, he is the master of evil and wants the human race in slavery to the heavens.. or hell cause he new that evil willl come back faster when the worldstone destroyed.. and couldnt kill u because he wants u with him and he'll corrupt u over time...
thats why we get new "heroes" and slay tyreal and his army.. and the sub boss is the previos hero..
Well saying that Tyrael is evil isn't prepostereous imo... There are several explanations for his actions. First of all, he does some very shady things such as destroying the worldstone etc. gossip with cain and the such. However, just because he helped you to defeat the prime evils does not necessarily make him good. Remember the adage "the enemy of my enemy is my friend." I'm not sure if my understanding is clear.. but apparently the worldstone will prevent outside forces such as the Prime Evils but also the Hosts of Heaven from entering the world of Sanctuary. Now that is all great and dandy.. but he just cut off a major source of good in the world and now the only POWERFUL outsider left on Sanctuary... would be Tyrael.
It could be some scheme perhaps?? Or maybe Tyrael is on the side of man and the other Angels will take offense to Tyrael intervening?
Tyrael was peirced by a worldstone shard and baals wanderig soul entered tyraels body via the shard using it as a sort of makeshift soulstone thus creating an evil with all the powers of heaven.
Good and Evil are not things that can just change for no reason.
They make up the balance of the mortal world and other worlds as well, they are the scales of destiny, and as such, beings that participate in either side of the conflict usually have little to say in the matter.
Any one who read the fourth book should know two important issues.
First, Tyrael is still good, that after the Prime Evils are gone, that after the World Stone is destroyed, still the world needs to be saved and still Tyrael is there to help.
The second thing is that in the book, Diablo and his brothers are still talked about as crucial factors in the future of Sanctuary and the overall hierarchy of Hell.
True, so much for an opportunity for Tyrael to show his Evil side, but it is not a matter of guessing who suddenly turns evil or who suddenly turns good, this is a matter of direct continuity, of Diablo III.
The World Stone was placed in the mortal world to serve as a barrier between it and other realms, this is why normally, Angels, Demons, Elements, Gods of sanctuary both old and new, Dreamers Nephalims, and countless other creatures from countless other realms could not interfere with the fate of men directly as long as the World Stone served its purpose.
Many of there creatures took a more passive role in the fate of Sanctuary, each with its own side of the conflict.
Now, that the World Stone is destroyed, who's to say they won't take a more active part, choosing to join the battle or better yet, rebuild the barriers between the realm of Sanctuary and the other realms.
History had taught us that the powers of the magical fabric the World Stone weaved over the realm of Sanctuary could have been manipulated by mere mortals, yet alone gods.
Different types of this barrier enchantment were used also in the game itself protecting the docks of Kurast and Harrogath.
So although the World Stone was destroyed, it was still the lesser of the two evils and certainly not a part of a grand scheme Tyrael, the wicked mastermind, had instored for Sanctuary.

well, angels dont want to kill evil they want to confide it to hell. When one being crosses into a realm they dont belong in, thats when heaven gets pissed.
Tyrael has went agianst hevan's orders and persued banishing evil by his own means. Their is alot of comments Cain makes in the game to belive Tyrael has allter motives. When you free the trortured soul of (Izule)sp it lead my to belive this. I think Diablo 3 would have to start before for 1 or 2 because of Tyrael's actions. Although they all could be in cahoots together toying around with mere mortals. Including Cain.
Hey i got 2 views ones kinda sketchy and the other probally closer to the topic but here they are
1. You know how you just cant have one cookie, well what if they couldnt just have one worldstone, what if they had a back up, this is the sketchy one but its someting to think about
2.Now while i was reading your posts i thought of this its kinda think outside of the box deals here it is. what it tyrael like watching(maybe the gods to) the fight between mortal men and evil. what if tyrael set up the whole thing(the evils entering the realm...etc). in diablo 1 everything went seemingly fine diablo was stopped everything was good, peace. but in D2 the evils outsmart tyrael, and since tyrael thinks hes a badass he doesnt see whats really going on. so then tyraels plans are messed up, he has to destroy the worldstone and possibly(im going to go watch the final cinamatic) impaled by a shard of the world stone. now the heavens must step in to set straight what tyrael has fucked up and thats were the heaven vs. hell comes into play. i just thought of that in two minutes so i dont know how accurate i am on things
it seems that the diablo legend continues, much confusion comes from story. that keeps the players guessing and wanting more.
regarding tyrael i think he will be exciled to hell. ill tell you why.
remember when tyrael destroyed the stone?? that he was praying?? well heaven might have granted him the power to do so. when he destroys the stone he violates a rule. that he couldnt interfere, and he breaks it big time. even though he did it for good, he'll still suffer for it. he will also be sent to hell. there he will either suffer or turn to evil. i dont have an idea which but this is an interesting turn isnt it??
“Since the beginning of time, the angelic forces of the High Heavens and the demonic hordes of the Burning Hells have been locked in an eternal conflict for the fate of all Creation.” So can an archangel get a kick by watching humans struggle for the fate of their mortal souls against the demonic hoards of Hell?, he must be one hell of a twisted being, and I just can't see Tyrael this way. There are many things that just doesn't add up, why tangle with the worst of the worst only to be outwitted? It fits a human to think he can manipulate evil to do his bidding, but not an angel, and certainly not a great evil such as this.
Now I'll admit, it doesn't really say anywhere that Heaven wants whats best for man kind, in fact, some of their attempts to eradicate evil at certain occasions resulted in hurting the same people they wanted to save. During the Cold War the US supported economically countries that were in threat of a Soviet takeover, to prevent what I think was called the domino effect and to stop Communism from spreading. In some ways, its the same, whether they do wish for the benefit of humanity or just don't give a dam is not relevant, it is best leave their agendas aside and focus more about the actions they are taking to help humans. Hell spreads through evil, it empowers the wicked over the righteous in this life and pray upon them in the next, Heaven on the other hand spreads itself through good, it teaches the righteous how to over come the wicked in this life evil and rewards them in the next.
This is how the conflict goes, regardless of who, if any, is caught in the middle of it. Angels go where demons go and demos go where angels go, Sanctuary probably isn't the first realm they struggled over and will probably won't be the last. The conflict is maintained by a balance of good and evil, driven by any shift in the balance towards the side that is underpowered only to immediately shift again towards the first side thus maintaining a level amount of power on both sides that can in theory cancel out each other only to repeat the process all over again.
Pawns on either side of the conflict can change sides as the balance shifts, this is known, but it must be a gigantic shift to tip over such a powerful weapon of good to the side of evil. Now I can already hear people say that there was a shift, the Prime Evils are dead. So first of all, there are strong evidence that say otherwise. Pandemonium level, that although it looks like a twisted patch bonus, does have a text of lore that explains it. And other text such as the ones from the Book of the Slayer that clearly show that we haven't seen the last of the Three: “Evil is eternal and so, too, are his minions.
Slay one and another comes to take his place, changing its form
and appearance until it becomes the twin of its dead brother.
This is why the Prime Evils must be imprisoned, not slain.
For if they are only slain, they will come forth in another form.” And secondly, if we really have seen the last of any of the Three, then there can't be a Diablo III.

What is at issue is the conversion of the mind from the twilight of error to the truth, that climb up into the real world which we shall call true philosophy.
