So, i've been watching Starcraft 2 games for quite some time now, trying to see how the pros do it and perhaps learn a few things from them. So far i've mastered the art of watching but my playing skills aren't that improved, except for the fact that i know "how" i lose instead of just losing and being clueless
Macro and Micro and all those things, i keep watching from Huskystarcraft, HDstarcraft and even Totalhalibut (from his Shoutcraft list) are awesome to watch and simple to understand but quite hard to immitate!
Any of you guys feeling the same way? The game is awesome and i don't complain, it just impresses me how some people master the game so well. I barely play anymore yet have a blast watching all those games people like Idra, TLO, HuK etc are playing. (Got to say i love Protoss and i'm always more interested to watch PvT or PvZ matchups).
Anyway, i thought i should make this thread for people that enjoy watching podcasts and maybe link some here that you found interesting to watch!
Here goes one of my favorites! PvZ with quite interesting sneaky Protoss!
That's funny you say that cause I've been watching a lot of Korean APM video's trying to get my Macro skills up. Husky and HD are definitely my favorite guys to watch since their Shoutcasts just seem to keep me interested from start to finish. Idra is one of those guys I really wish would not have gotten into the whole starcraft scene because of how much of a BM (Bad Mannered) gamer he is... I feel like he gives us American's a bad name.
Is this you playing as Protoss or is this a game you just found?
Definitely not me playing, i'm a total and complete noob in Starcraft 2!
I just found it interesting while watching Huskies videos and thought i'd post it. Do the same, i'm pretty sure there are many many awesome replays i've missed so far!
Yea, leading up to the game I was watching a bunch of videos from the beta, and I was sorely disappointed when I got my hands on the game and SUCKED. I do like watching them though, but I did kind of burn myself out on watching in the month leading up to release. I do find that they help quite a bit for learning builds, I got pretty good at Marine/Tank, MMM, and Marine/Thor as straight up builds, along with just generally knowing when to transition and stuff, through watching videos. Got to the Platinum League pretty much solely on MMM (don't hate).
My one gripe about SC2 is that you really need to play a lot to keep up your level of play, which isn't really a complaint so much as me just being pissed after taking a break haha. I played pretty much every day for about a month and a half, and then college started and I stopped playing for about 2 months. When I tried to return, I found myself playing in Platinum still, but I just got dominated over and over because I was so out of practice, and there was no other option other than finding someone to play with. I guess its also because I didn't play long enough in the first place to really get it ingrained enough to be able to take a two month break, but it pretty much made it so that I dont play the game any more even though I love it. I'll probably try another return sometime soon, but right now I've been enjoying League of Legends.
I use Teamliquid.net. So far thats the most comprehensive resource for everything sc2. Idk about podcasts but there are live streams and videos of games always being updated.
However, I haven't seen much in the way of 2v2 stuff.
Me and my buddy are having a bit of a time getting into platinum(we're rank 4 gold right now), do you guys know of any good places to watch 2v2 matches?

i second the Psy fav, im pretty much down to only watching him. He's funny he can tell you what the player is thinking since most casts are of his own games, and hes good and gives great tips.
I suggest watching Husky or HD for pure entertainment purposes, watch DAy9 if you want to get better at the game.
Personally I prefer HD (with doubleshow with Husky) for entertainment. Day9 to me is like watching a baseball match and hear him explain how the batter calculates his swing speed and batting stance, the angle of said swing, all to counter the speed and direction of the pitch.

Day) is excellent, and if you want to watch some fun games one should check out his Funday Monday casts from a while ago. This is an excellent example: http://day9tv.blip.tv/file/4205104/
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
Edit: The games are interesting but his personality is just...annoying. Not really clever, just kinda stupid.
Edit: How can you enjoy his casts?!
Edit: Why does he bite his lip when he's excited? It's creepy.
Edit: Today we went from gold league rank 4 to platinum league rank 1 :-]]]]]

I mean yea hes a pretty weird guy but hes also a really informative "teacher" if you will. And most of the stuff he does i find funny instead of weird. But I can see how you would just be creeped out.
Like at certain parts he is definitely pretty funny. But the rest of the time he just seems creepy lol.

I really like the newbie tuesdays and funday mondays, but I don't really play enough to really train on any of it, so it ends with me sort of knowing what I'm supposed to do but not actually managing to do it

Day9 is definitely my favorite, used to watch him in photography class when shit got boring.

PD: What?
Zhar: Yeah you know, me and Sixen went up against Idra and WhiteRa this one time. It was kind of close in the beginning, but eventually we got our macro going and they didn't stand a chance after that.
Is that how I should interpret you statement? :sorcerer:
