I don't know if this thread has been made, but my question is does anyone have Diablo for the playstation. I know they made one, but I think it's very rare and expensive. Iv'e seen it on ebay going for $50+.
If anyone does have it how does it play and is it worth it?
It plays quite well actually, using a sorcerer is tough as shit though.
This game is PERFECT for having your buds over to play some D1, thats pretty much the only use I've ever gotten out of it.
If you've got some friends who are devout diablo fans, buy it and play together, if not, stick to the computer version, you're not missing much.
If you're wanting to get it for collection purposes though, snatch it up, it's pretty rare.

I'm tempted to eBay this when I get paid at midnight.

But, alas - the only Diablo playing friends I know of that I've had (besides my sister) turned out to either be on drugs, or lying scumbags. :wallbash:

As Zhar, Said it does play quite well indeed, But one thing I must disagree with is Sorcerer is not that hard! I managed, to complete Hell difficulty, and apocalypse does help You Just got to have some luck, with sorcerer thats all As for the friends over, I wish they played Diablo The features of the playstation release, are a little bit better graphics , like for example, In Town the river you can see your reflection, and there are crows when you walk by cain, and you can adjust the game speed, from normal to fast. Fast is more action pace, and more deadly, and risky. As I also mentioned, You can play all three difficulty's, and play two player single player game. I must say two player feature is nice, all the more because, Three is no half of a screen! And the last thing the dark wanderer end cinematic is different just look at this youtube video for example.
i played it a bit back in 1999 with a friend and i got to tell you it was quite messy. he played a rogue and i a warrior.
i was getting hit by both the enemies and my friend. friendly fire also works on spells so its even messier
i was a decent port, but overall i prefer the PC version. if you want it for your collection go ahead, but i dont think its gonna feel too good if you played the PC version first.
IIRC this has a ton of recorded lore (by an actor) with scrolling text, which the pc version didn't have. I think you could go directly there from the main menu, which is really kind of strange.

I didn't know the ps1 had difficulties! Now I want to get me a copy and see my reflection on the damn river
bought it like 5 years ago at gamestop for like 9 bucks xD
it does have some annoying things that make you not want to play it
the only one i think is annoying though is you cant keep unique items you find through new games
so sometimes you have to go through nightmare without some of your equipment till you find better equipment off the floor or buy new one on griswold (not like it matters since the best items are usually rares anyway lol)
and as a sorc battling is pretty fine, but you have to pause the game to heal often (2 shortcuts thats it)
theres also no pvp toggle feature like in the pc version
so you can kill each other with spells and attacks
and the game takes almost an entire memory card just for 1 save file and 3 characters
but its still fun if you play with someone who wants to play for real =3
I bought diablo for PS way back when it was fairly new. I still have the disc, and I break it out from time to time to play for nostalgia pruposes. It is still fun to play and is arguably THE GAME THAT STARTED THE ARPG DUNGEON CRAWL REVOLUTION. I suppose GAUNTLET could be in the discussion but that game is almost too primitive to compare to Diablo. This game needs to be played by anyone who enjoys arpg. As far as the PS version vs the PC version... I've played both and prefer the playstation version. The ability to change the game speed makes a HUGE difference in gameplay, and the PC version does not offer this option.

All diablo players are on drugs and lie about not living in a basement. True fact.
