Increase the intelligence & number of enemies and change it from one shot kills, to about 3 shots.
I'm still in Hell and having a blast with my witch doctor, but from hearing people's stories about Inferno and how the game is played on that level, inferno does not sound fun. Why bother farming endlessly to play a game of kiting. You would never of gotten hooked on the game if the entire game was one shots, hit points don't matter, and 85% of the skills were ineffective. If that isn't fun at level 1, why is it fun at level 60?
What is fun is build diversity, getting creative, getting swarmed, and not having every WD use Dire bats, soul syphon, splinter, spirit walk, and no pets. Rather than allowing one shotting, why not have the mobs use high level strategies, call in reinforcements, use traps hidden in the dungeon, increase the # of enemies, create situations which require skillful resolution, such as:
instead of a treasure goblin which is only dangerous to chase, make a goblin who similarly runs away from you, but he rings a bell which pulls in nearby mobs. You have to kill it right away or risk getting overrun. There are a lot of game mechanics that can make the game more challenging vs just going cheesy with the whole one shot deal.
When universities crack down on hazing in fraternities, the biggest opposition often comes from the seniors who already went through hazing and want to haze others. I'm sorry, but everyone who beat inferno got hazed. Just because you beat inferno, it does not mean inferno carries the spirit of Diablo nor should remain the way it is.
Blasphemy, Im having fun on inferno. Im having more fun playing inferno than playing at hell, cause i didnt think hell was difficult enough and now im feeling. Its only 1 shot if u got stupid gear, if u play smart and manage to farm SK, um can progress through act 1 without much problem, u just have to play your role. Im playing barbarian and at the beginning i was raging cause i couldnt survive to deal the dmg i was doing at hell, and now i can tank giant mobs with ease and my fag demon hunter friends do the dmg and cry cause got 1 shoted.
Dont forget that some ppl are playing hardcore inferno. If it was 1 shot it would be stupid to even try.
U have to tack resist all gear and a little vitality. u will need about 600 resist in all elements to start act 2 without getting 1 shoted. Just make your waren+butcher run with the 5 stacks and u will get plenty of gold and maybe some useful equips. If u dont get the right equip, u can buy on the auction house, but keep in mind that some ppl made the auction house private to those with millions of gold.
Be patient little grasshopper, u will enjoy it, if u play it right.
Forgot to say, I didnt beat inferno yet. I'm working on killing Belial right now, and that makes me want to play for hours to farm gear and try to overcome that challenge.
Ppl rage on inferno cause they are too lazy to actually farm, stuff u did in diablo 2 to beat hell difficulty and play pvp. We dont have pvp yet, i hope we get it soon, so farm to the PvE
To be fair, act 1 and 2 are not really a problem if you got the proper gear. But as a WD, even with great gear I get one-shot by mostly everything in act 3 and beyond. I understand that the difficulty should take a leap, but getting one-shot by ranged monsters does get tedious.
Meh, that's how i feel like as a monk in inferno for act 2 atm, like everyone said "Oh, just farm gear and get over it" Which, is true. However, i HATE act 2, it is a melees hell. Monks have 0 slows (that are worth taking) and running in circles from the dozens of mobs that can kite you (not to mention when the elites get to have molten / fire chain / fast affixes on) it does become tedious and quite annoying. I am also pigeonholed into a build taking 4 defensive skills (Breath of Heaven, Blind, Serenity, Aura) and my other 2 skills are also for defense even if they aren't "defensive" (Sweeping winds with large AOE to put up resolve(a passive) and my spirit generator which increases armor). If i drop any of these skills i die just that much faster, not to mention if i try to go toe to toe with something without a cooldown i die. Resulting in me kitting for a tremendous amount of time. Currently i have about 500 resist, 6k armor, 26 block chance for 3k damage and anything past maghda is almost instant death with all of my defensive skills ;/
However, act 1 i can put up 5 offensive skills with 1 defensive skill (remaining with my defensive passives) and face tank everything without a second glance (enless its a really lame affix like Frozen /molten/plague/firechains; which i only have to kite a little bit) The jump in difficulty is just a little too intense for my taste. I liked diablo 2, mindlessly farming and trying out different builds all day. I can't stand being pushed into one singular defensive build that cannot kill anything and still cannot survive effectively.
I agree in some parts. I like the difficulty and i feel that my progress as a barb has been steady for the amount of playtime i can put in. However, i'm not sure i like being forced to play a certain way. I can run through act 1 inferno with warcry as my only defensive skill or passive and i can do warden/butcher runs all day. However, with warcry and 3 defensive passives i get my butt ripped to shreds in act 2.
Having to play defensive is one thing but when your forced to give up other good abilities for only defensive abilities it feels forced. I feel that they definitely failed in the aspect of being able to come up with diverse builds that are viable in inferno. You'd think that CC's would be much more important in inferno due to the incoming damage but their completely useless. what's the point of having stuns or blinds if the duration is cut so short that you barely have time to use 1 ability before it ends? I understand they don't want people using cheesy CC tactics to get through inferno but instead we have people using much worse tactics to farm inferno like using tyrael to kill champions.
