posted a message on Controversial AH & Loot Fix
    Background:
Original Diablo designer suggests Bind on Equip and says AH ruins game.
Jay Wilson acknowledges the AH "short circuits" the thrill of the loot hunt.
Jay Wilson says they were too conservative with good drops (probably out of fear of flooding the AH & further short circuiting the experience).

    ________________

    The Fix:

Account bound for the best gear. That's right, if you want the best gear, you've got to earn it.

Bind on equip for the 2nd tier. This will keep the most valuable gear from flooding the market, because it can only be used once. No more wearing somebody else's sweaty armor.

Free for all for all other items. If you want a fast upgrade, you can still go to the AH thrift store.

    __________________

With this fix, Diablo can now drop legendaries and matching sets more often than once in a blue moon.

Diablo can drop valuable items without worrying about the short circuiting. And with Account bound for the best items, you will be rewarded for PLAYING the game, not PAYING the game.

posted a message on Paragon Levels stupid?
Hadn't played for awhile. Been on Mechwarrior Beta, which is a blast. Came back to D3 after the patch and had a great time! Almost got my WD up to level 1 Paragon, just a sliver away. Feels just like leveling again.

Also really cool to be able to use pets again with the WD. I missed that. Was having so much fun switching out my build and trying new things that I lost my NV Buff.

Brilliant. They took two problems, MF & level 60 progression and created an elegant solution. There's a reason Blizzard is Blizzard.

posted a message on WD: do you think we will be dissapointed with 1.0.4?
@Ruppgu I agree that the other classes got big perks to encourage a variety of class builds, but the WD only got fixes that should have been there in the first place. Blizzard did take your suggestion to fix the mana problem on the WD. You complained that every other class does not cost resources to use their primary attack (i.e. Splinters) and in most cases it actually increases their resources to use your primary attack. The WD is the only class that loses mana/resource when using the primary. The fix is kind of funny though... You HAVE to use one of your valuable Passives in order to gain resources with primary attacks. In essence, to be equal with other classes, you have to give up one of three passives. That is hardly an equal playing field. All of the other classes got a boost to DPS and the WD lost a passive slot. Wow!

On the positive side, the pet situation may be fixed and that is huge. But that is not a boost like the other classes got, that is a fix.

posted a message on Future of Diablo
I've been receiving a lot of fan e-mails from people thanking me for giving Blizzard the ideas to turn their game around and I just want to say, "it is my pleasure". Also, feel free to post your e-mails here on the thread versus PMing me. Thanks again everyone, glad to help make the game even better!

posted a message on Future of Diablo
If you want to read about the future of Diablo, you can read my June 30th, 2012 Post right here:

    http://www.diablofan...218#entry972218

In case you haven't read my ingenious, soothsaying post, here is just one of the many highlights, which correctly predicted the most important part of patch 1.04.

"Weapons can have special effects so DPS is not the defining factor anymore. What about a bow, which leaves trails of fire? Or a shield which can sometimes stun people when you get hit. Or boots which leave a trail of frost. Or a mace which causes enemies to explode when they die? Point is, with special abilities residing inside the gear, it will no longer be just about DPS, but about the fun factor of an item."

Now people such as Blizzards lead game designer, Andre Chambers are saying such things as: "Some items like the Fire Walkers boots, which have a fire trail ability" Ooooh, good one Andrew, change my Trail of Frost to a Trail of Fire!!! Nobody will know that you borrowed one from the Khrull777 playbook:)

Or: Chambers acknowledges that these items may not result in, "the highest DPS stats in the game, but they can help you play your class in new and interesting ways."...nobody will know that you indirectly quoted Khrull777 when he said, "...it will no longer be just about DPS."

Truthfully, I am honored that Blizzard chose to take my suggestions provided they create an NPC named Khrull777 in the next expansion pack.

posted a message on The duping begins
    Quote from IIamaKing

D2 wasn't built with annoying always online that was supposed to keep this shit from happening. SO now we get dupes AND DCs AND Lag. GG blizz on pumping out an unfinished product and convincing your followers to eat it up with a spoon.

Okay, so because the game is online, that is why Blizzard needs to be perfect?

Btw, We still don't have proof that there is duping.

Very disturbing. These hackers have also penetrated the Hardcore Auction House AND have duplicated the mouse. Oh, the humanity!

posted a message on Hardcore Endgame
Proposed Endgame, available after reaching level 60:

A Torch-like infinite downward dungeon, which gets progressively harder, AND is Hardcore. When you die, you go back to level 1 of the dungeon.

    Pros:
    * Gives you the excitement of Hardcore. Death has real consequences as you lose your progress, but you keep your character.
    * You have a reason to gear up so you, because you are always trying to avoid death, and you can't be too geared up for that.
    * Difficulty will keep getting harder, so people who beat Diablo on Inferno will still be challenged.
    * Levels are VERY random with different beginning and end points.
    * Lots of random events splattered throughout.
    * Inspired by Diablo's predecessor, Rogue, which you had one life and when you died you go back to level one. That was the top selling Unix game of the time.

Here are some of the details:
    * You will need to beat different parts of the game to get access to some of the deeper levels of the dungeon.
    * Some arena type battles where waves of Mobs and Elites are released.
    * Some monsters immune to certain types of attacks, requires diversification of builds and encourages coop.

    Adds Story to the Storyline
    * Even with [spoiler] Diablo dying, the hero is required to do house keeping to keep the demon hoardes under control:)

What are your thoughts? They can even sell this as a mini expansion.

Thanks for making the WD fun again on Inferno. You're right the key is having five cool down abilities.
