I stated thousands of times that diablo franchise is "gamblers"-targeted.
since all you really do is finding loot and actually randomly trying to get a hit for great items.
now with d3 i think its even more noticeable:
think about it:
if gold == real money (since there is an arbitrage between them) in D3,
then , when you gamble for items with gold (at gheed's etc) you actually gamble for real money!
I wouldn't go that far and say that it is gambling, there is a huge random factor in it but difference is you don't lose everything.
Gambling isn't Gheed anymore. It's using gold, crafting supplies, etc. to make crafted items with random mods. That's where luck will come in to play. But, casinos have been making piles of money for ages and people still enjoy them and people who don't enjoy them can stay home. So it sounds win-win to me!
Yea no gambling had me sadfaced, but then it sunk in. Gambling is illegal in many places so it wouldn't make sense for Blizzard to limit themselves to a smaller player base.
